Do not bring your car to be repaired here. After I bought my car at this dealership, one of the front windshield post panels started rattling immediately. I brought it in to have it fixed, and the service rep repeatedly asked me if I had tried to remove it. No, I was not trying to remove interior plastic panels of my car to store drugs, but thanks for asking. When they gave my car back to me, they left a bunch of Jehovah’s Witness literature in the front passenger seat for me. That offended me enough that I decided not to go back, even though my car was still under warranty and their ‘fix’ to the rattle lasted less than 24 hours.
I only went back recently because I had an emergency with my car struggling to drive, and they were the only service place I knew of within safe driving distance. I naively thought I might pay a bit more at a dealership, but at least they should be able to competently service my ford. Not even close. One of them told me it would take 15 hours of labor and would cost over $ 2500 for a clutch replacement on a basic manual transmission car. This was a clear warning sign that I should have asked for my keys back and left then and there. They told me they wouldn’t be able to get to it to diagnose until the next morning, so I rented a car at the in-​house Enterprise. I received a phone message the next day with no info other than that I was ‘next in line.’ Then I heard nothing. I called multiple times to find out where my car was, what was wrong with it, how much it would cost, when I could get it back, etc. I was told every time that they’d get back to me, but they never did. I only wish I had read the other Unilocal reviews before I came here since it’s pretty obvious this is standard procedure for this business.
Five days later, with $ 200 in rental car costs adding up I went in to see what was going on in person and demand they tell me the status of my vehicle. They still couldn’t tell me anything. Finally, after they hemmed and hawed for a while they gave me an answer which may have come out of thin air: «probably» $ 4500 needed in repairs (plus a nonrefundable $ 100 for the diagnosis). Those expensive repairs didn’t even address the issues that caused me to bring in my car. I demanded they return my car to me in the condition I had dropped it off and asked if I could get reimbursed for the needless rental car costs accrued while they had refused to return my calls. I was refused by both the service rep and service manager. So I left $ 300 lighter ($ 100 diagnosis, $ 200 rental) with a car that was just as broken as when I brought it in. Or maybe even more broken, I have to wonder. It was terrible service, with no attempt to remedy the situation. At least they didn’t leave Jehovah’s Witness literature for me this time.

My husband went in today to trade in his Lexus and buy a pre-​owned truck. The salesmen would only talk to him about a NEW truck, although he mentioned pre-​owned. He talked about the affordable budget of around $ 300. They didn’t interested unless it was a $ 500 or $ 600 car note. Go figure. I think a sale is a sale, but apparently not at this Ford Dealership. Don’t waste your time. Go somewhere else!

I made an appointment two days ago for them to look at a rattle in my almost new Explorer. I was told if I brought it in at 830 AM I would be one of the first in line for the techs to look at. I did so and took the shuttle back to my office. After not hearing back from them, I called around 2PM to check the status.
I was told that the techs are backed up and they haven’t even driven my car yet. I told him I had to have the car for the weekend and for them not to start any repairs they could not finish. My advisor called me back and left me a message that I could always rent a car for the weekend !!!
Really??? If I ran my business like they run theirs I wouldn’t be in business for long.
I will never waste my time at this place again and needless to say I would never buy a new vehicle there or recommend this place to even my worst enemy.

What a disappointing experience. I had an appointment for an oil change and sync update. After waiting 15 minutes to get to speak with someone, I found out that the oil change was going to take an hour and 45 minutes and I would have to come back for the sync update. After expressing surprise that they would except an appointment when they couldn’t get the work done I said I was leaving. My service advisor replied no problem. It’s hard to believe this level of apathy and incompetence allows them to stay in business. I left and went to Wade Ford in smyrna. Had the complete opposite experience. Met someone who cared about me and my vehicle and at the work done in a timely fashion.

My first stop Monday was with Jim Tidwell Ford. After Brandon Johnson assisted me with the cars they had, I went to other dealerships to shop around. My day ended back at Jim Tidwell Ford. Brandon was great as were the finance people. I plan on returning when my car needs a service. If the service department is as professional as the sales team I will be a forever fan.

We just purchased a 2016 F250 from these folks through the best car salesman we have in 40 years of car purchases! Chad was an outstanding individual! We knew what we wanted and yet we had a ton of questions. We are using this new purchase to tow a fifth wheel trailer. A new experience for us. Chad did a great job of answering what questions he could and finding answers he was sure of. He never tried to upsell to us or otherwise. He respected us and treated us right from beginning to end. He also got us the fairest deal possible saving us lots of money.

I went in to look at a used 2011 mustang back in July and at first the sales man that was working with me and my husband was super sweet and helpful, once he gave us the price and the break down of what that price included I was hesitant on dropping close to 21k on a lime green mustang without thinking about it and talking privately with my husband. I said we needed a couple hours to think about it. Then the salesman turns to my husband and tells him I’m stupid for wanting to think about a large purchase and that I didn’t know anything about cars. I was truly shocked that he said that right in front of me. We walked out and never came back after that.

I’ve recently moved to Georgia and wanted a new dealer to service my SUV. I went online to Tidwell Ford’s website and made an appointment for an oil change at 1pm. I arrived at 12:50 and waited in the service lane for almost 10 minutes before anyone approached my car to check me in. The service advisor then told me it would be 2 hours before they could start on my car. I pointed out I had a confirmed appointment for 1pm for a simple oil change.
He responded that since I had made an appointment for immediately after lunch I should understand they will be behind and it will take a while to get someone to work on my car. In other words, he was saying it was my fault for scheduling service «after lunch.»
Well excuse me for thinking your company would be smart enough to manage their appointments and labor to accommodate the customer. Needless to say I left and went to a non-​dealer auto shop for my oil change… and I was delighted to find out they can handle all my service needs. So, no way I will return to this dealer.

Incredibly frustrated. Took my thunderbird in for a service 2 days ago. 7am service call on Friday. Called multiple times trying to get an update. Was constantly told I would receive a call back… Never got one. No clue what’s going on with my car and no hope of getting it back before next week. The lack of communication is appalling.

Terrible! Made an appointment several days in advance. I show up 10 minutes early for the appointment and they say it will be more than two hours before the car is taken back. She said the appointment was to meet with them to find out how long the wait would be. Useless. Never going there again.

Avoid this place at all costs. After a bad repair fried the car’s electrical system, we have had to fight tooth and nail to get the affected components repaired. They actually told us, «they don’t repair or replace factory radios». After a few weeks of back and forth, they finally agreed to replace it. Now they refuse to fix the seat heaters. I will be seeking legal advice.
On top of all of that, they charged me $ 60 for an oil change and to replace some tail lights. I tested them before I left, and there was still one not working! I am standing here watching them fix it again!

. My 88 yr old dad made an apt to take Ford Fusion in to Pugmire Ford in Cartersville because of recall. The day of appt he drove far to their dealership on, y to be told they were equipped to service the car. No courtesy call to him before he made the trip. He asked for a remote key so as not to have wasted a trip. It’s a chip key so he paid $ 100 to service/​program to key and $ 134 for the key itself. He was at my home recently so we stopped at Jim Tidwell Ford because 8 thought this price was high. I walked in parts and showed the key to girl behind counter asking her how much for key remote. She quoted me $ 40 – 79 for key itself and and sent me to service for quote on programming. They quoted $ 99. I called Pugmire back asking if my dad could receive a $ 59 credit for overcharge. After a runaround Pam called me back and said she had spoke to Felicia at TIDWELL FORD and by then they had corroborated their stories and I was told no credit due. My dad will not be returning to Tidwell or Pugmire nor will I. I hate seeing anyone getting ripped off much less the elderly and especially my father.

Absolutely terrible dealership. We agreed to a sales price and traveled 5 hours in a rental car to pick it up, only to be told that it had been sold. This was after finance paperwork had been forwarded to the salesman. This is absolutely unethical. I am embarrassed that they represent the Ford brand. Go to any other dealer in the area to purchase a new vehicle.

I went to Jim Tidwell Ford because my 2012 Ford Edge was having an acceleration problem and my drivers’ side door decides when it wants to lock. I have only had the car a year (bought used) but has less than 60,000 miles on it. I made an appointment on a Saturday through the app (which initially I thought was pretty cool) for 11:30am, but when I arrived Ron Cagle told me that they were half-​staffed on Saturdays and it was not the best day to come… He then tells me he will call me with an update that afternoon… well, 3 pm rolls around and I haven’t heard from him. So, I call him… he tells me to come pickup my car because he doesn’t have a tech there to work on it that day and I would need to drop it off on Monday instead. He insists that he could have it fixed in about 2 hours on Monday if I dropped it off after I got off work (around 2 pm). I wasn’t too happy about this, but I agreed to it.
So Monday I drop off my car around 2 pm and he immediately tells me that he is behind and they won’t be able to work on it that day… it would be the next day. So, I need a car to drive to work… I made a big deal and he gave me a rental. Which was nice… but he says «you’ll have your car tomorrow afternoon».
Tuesday, by the time I get off work I still hadn’t heard from anyone about my car. I call them and ask to speak to Ron. When he gets on the phone, I ask him about an update on my car and he tells me that it shows it is ready to be picked up. I ask him «so what was done on it?» he says that the computer doesn’t say and he will find out and call me back within 15 mins. I pull over on my way there to wait for his call so I didn’t have to go all the way home and then back down there in rush hour traffic in the event the car was ready. 35 mins later… still no call. So I call him again… he is very evasive about what is going on. He will not give me details but tells me to go home and he will have this «resolved» by the morning and I could pick it up the following day.
Wednesday: repeat Tuesdays events… and add me getting really angry… he insists that it will be taken care of, but of course he will not be at work for the last two days of the week, so he will turn it over to someone else to follow up with me. He also promised he would call me by the end of his shift that day… A call that never happened… go figure. He also tells me that his transmission guy has been looking at it for 2 days. 2 days??? puh-​lease. And now he has to transfer it over to his «driveability guy». ok.
Fast forward to Friday: I call them at 10 am… A guy named Ted helps me. Says «it’s ready to be picked up» again, I ask «what has been done» and he has to research it. He says he will call me back as soon as he hears from the techs. 5 pm I get a call from him… they say «it’s definitely not a transmission problem… we recommend getting your throttle body cleaned and your pcm reprogrammed, but that’s not covered under your 60,000 drive train warranty and it will be $ 240.00. And we couldn’t get your lock to act up, so we aren’t fixing anything there. You want me to get them started on this?» uuuuuhhh. no. ridiculous. They kept my car for 4.5 days and didn’t touch it until Friday. I will never return to this dealership and have lodged a complaint with Ford Corporate. Now my car is acting even worse and I only have 2,000 miles left on my warranty. Will never buy a Ford again just because of the awful experiences with 2 separate Ford Dealerships.

I don’t have any horror story to tell and I use their service dept as they are the closest Ford dealership to me. As to buying my recent experience here is not very recent at least as far as making a purchase but I can comment that while I did buy a 2000 Explorer there my other Fords 2 purchased, 2 leased were all through what was Team Ford (Now Nation) in Marietta. When it was really Tidwell back in the day before it got bought out, they did do deals, but since then I did not find them to be in competition and it was Team that got my business. I am interested in another Ford (2016) and while I will probably compare prices there I can ‘guess’ that I will buy at Nations as they seem to be more interested in closing the deal (ie: coming down in price).

I’ve bought 2 vehicles from Jim Tidwell, one used & one new. I have had good service. Matt King & Bud Butson were easy to work with. Granted, the automotive sales industry is what it is, but I’ve had worse experiences elsewhere, especially the another domestic dealer around the corner. I haven’t really used the service department much, though.

I made an online inquiry about the 2015 Mustangs and a salesman contacted me within 30 minutes with information. I was initially excited to work with the sales associate because of his upbeat attitude and eagerness to make the sale.
Then I went in and talked to him in person. He did not seem to listen to my desired features and accessories for the car and repeatedly tried to up-​sell something to me immediately despite me expressing that I was still a few months from the intended purchase. I understand his desire to make a sale but he would constantly bombard me with emails about special holiday deals and events but would reply «You get what you qualify for» when I asked for an example of a deal that they don’t offer year-​round.
The last straw was when I asked for a feature that Ford’s website let me customize on the Eco Boost model and when I tried to work with the salesman explaining that it was the main thing I wanted he tells me, «That feature only comes on the premium. So come on in and we can get you in one today». I then spoke with a salesman at a Ford dealer in Woodstock and he was able to not only find a Eco Boost model with the feature but he was more than willing to help me customize one to my liking.
Even if the salesman was not aware the feature came on the Eco Boost model he should have checked before trying to make the repeated attempt to sell me a model that would cost me $ 6K+ more. I cannot buy such a costly item from someone I do not trust to have any of my interest in mind. I just hope the other sales associates are more in tune with their customer’s needs/​wants.

I ended up getting my Mustang from Hardy Family Ford (purely because of price) but needed some assistance with an issue I was having with my car. I took it over to the service center and the assistance I received was phenomenal. Every single person I talked to had a great personality and did whatever they could to help me without being aware of my feelings towards their sales department. The ladies in the parts department were more than friendly and helpful and Scott in the collision center was absolutely great. I am not sure if their sales department has gotten better but their service center deserves 5 stars so I’m adding 2 stars back to this review.

Took my vehicle in for problem with cruise. Replaced stop lamp switch at $ 167. Didn’t fix it. Said needed servo which wad another $ 632 plus tax and shop supplies. I declined repair after asking service advisor if we were going to keep throwing parts at it. He said that would fix it. The vehicle was only driven 2 miles but yet tech said cruise was working intermittently. Seems like should have been drove more to determine defective parts. Turns out that it was a $ 25 brake deactivation switch. I have always swore by dealers work, not this one. Need less to say there service department not up to par. Won’t be back and will steer everyone I know away from them.

Went to look at new and used cars. They had a solid selection of both. The salesmen was a little cheesy and high pressure even though we mentioned that I was just in the starting phases of looking around. I love that the internet is making it easier to buy a car. I would definitely consider cumming back but it looks like their service department needs some major work of their own

UPDATE… after waiting an hour and a half I asked for the service manager. Charlie came over immediately and addressed my issue. He was extremely polite and apolegetic. He even thanked me for my time. From the time I spoke to him my service was complete within 15 minutes. Kudos to Charlie. I will update my rating from a 1 to a 3.
