We stopped in for a late dinner on our way to Omaha and were pleased with our choice. My husband and I split the pulled pork plate with mac & cheese and BBQ beans, and also ordered a side of fries. This was more than enough food for the 2 of us. Our order came out quickly and staff was friendly and helpful. Pulled pork, BBQ beans and fries were delicious. Recommend skipping the mac & cheese as it was essentially non-seasoned buttered noodles. Bread that came with the meal was a tasty extra.

Delicious food for the most part. Mashed potatoes need work. Brisket could go longer, as I have had better. Otherwise, delicious prime rib, delicious tangy mac n cheese, tender and fatty pulled pork, and bread was like a croissant. Delicious. Wish I could try a steak and have more mac n cheese. Might have to before I leave. Lol. I’m soooo full!!! As mentioned, all you care to eat sides… Not that I had seconds. The portions are too big for me. Service was a little lacking as he was a bit forgetful, but the mason jar holds a lot of tea and refills weren’t needed much.

11÷4÷20155:30 p.m. I wouldn’t give this restaurant the time of my day or another dime ever again. Worst food and service I have had in a while. Here’s a tip for the employees, don’t sit at the bar with an empty restaurant and gab about how bad your life is when the only person in the restaurant is eating 2 feet away, AND if you call what I ate tonight a «steak», roadkill would have been better. I took 2 bites and asked for my check. My server at the bar never even asked me if I liked my meal.

We had the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, baked beans, and garlic mashed potatoes. They were both served dry but they had great sauce on the side! I was not overly impressed by the potatoes, they were a bit dry and lacked creaminess. The meats, on the other hand, were flavorful and rich. They were high quality meats with a bit of nice burnt skin. Would come back.

Skeeters is hit and miss. Sometimes you go and it’s to die for, other times it’s hardly edible. Sides are always delicious. Pork nachos are amazing. Never had much luck with their burgers however. We will go back definitely. Love the atmosphere. Service is also hit and miss. Sometimes our servers are wonderful, others we are lucky if they cone back. Like I said we will go back because when the food is great it’s soooo worth it!

Won’t go back solely due to the service. Used to go there every couple months or so but had a very poor service experience. The average BBQ isn’t worth coming back.

Had great pulled pork sandwich, mashed sweet potatoes and pork bbq. Some of the group thought that the mashed sweet potatoes were a bit too sweet. Huge beverages served in giant mason jars. Enjoyed the meal.

Not a big fan. I like veggies in my salad– the house salad came as somewhat tired lettuce doused in cheese and croutons with 1 tomato. My other side was over salted mashed potatoes, which would have been fine minus all the salt. The meat was good. The bread was good. Service was excellent. Sides are endless if u are a bottomless pit.

My husband voted a 2, and I was going to do a 2.5, but food was okay. Lots of choices. Brisket was dry, but sausage was really good. Sweet potatoes were very sweet, but yummy. Macaroni and mashed potatoes were a 2 star. Service was great and atmosphere. We were driving through town, and it looked like one of the best option. We voted higher because of the service, Apple Crisp, bread, and hot towels at the end :)

A friend of mine can’t get enough of this place and has to stop here when driving through the mod west. Service was great. Beer was tasty. A great place to stop for a quick bite and a binge.

This was my first time at this restaurant. I can honestly say it was the best BBQ I have ever eaten. The staff were very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. I do not live in this area, but I would come back to this place in a heartbeat.

This place was very convenient to our motel and after a 11 hour trip across I80 it seemed our easiest dinner option. It was a bad mistake. The locals had packed the place but after a short wait at the bar we were given a table. The two meat combo had pork ribs that were barely warm, steamed not grilled, had no rub, no flavor and the sauce at the table was fructose syrup with food coloring. The sausage was said to come from a famous place in TX but also was tasteless and just warm. The mashed sweet potatoes swam in a syrup broth and the less said about cole slaw with peanuts the better. The house wheat beer was sour. I bet their taps have not been cleaned in a decade. Do not go there.

I like the theme of the place being a western bar. I enjoyed the BBQ, mason jar beers, friendly service and country music with TVs. Had the smokehouse burger that was very good and cooked perfectly, my beer was not very cold but the House wheat beer was tasty. I would recommend stopping here for a good BBQ if your passing through.

Sports bar like with many tv’s, but good prime tender steak(more flavorful then sirloin and melt in your mouth tender like tenderloin), $ 16.99 and St Louis ribs, full bar with craft beers. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere casual. Worth a try for sure if passing Kearney, Nebraska.

So you’re driving through Nebraska and you’re looking for a place to stop. Well, it’s this place or the sketchy looking steakhouse across the street. We chose Skeeter Barnes and it was okay. I had the Kansas City style ribs with the steak. Ribs were incredible. Steak was terrible. Sides were frozen and probably microwaved green beans and super sugary, but tasty maple sweet potato. My friend had the pulled pork and the a side of coleslaw which she couldn’t understand why it was covered in peanuts. Prices were on par considering it’s BBQ. Giant mason glasses of water were very welcome. Service was good. Bathroom was clean.

This place saved my life. It’s right on Rt. 80 and I stopped here because I needed to reassess my trip on my map. And it’s past lunchtime. So I got three pork ribs(no sauce because of my stupid no carb diet) with coleslaw. The coleslaw was forgettable, but everything else was memorable. My really nice waitress Ashley, the ribs, the giant Mason jar of ice tea I got, and the ridiculously low bill. Oh, plus free wifi without even having to do a password. I like it. Come here.

Great food. Ribs are amazing. Side dishes are bottomless. The sweet potato chip appetizers are huge and delicious. Serves a table of people. Experiences can differ by wait staff, I’m sure, but our waitress was amazing. She was authentic(genuinely friendly and helpful) and appeared to love her job.

Pro: my husband and I enjoyed a small case of food poisoning at 2DIFFERENT times in the middle of the night after eating here(thank god as we r on a road trip and the hotel only had 1 bathroom) sorry about the TMI Cons: Neither of us really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich on the way down and certainly was not thrilled when it was on its way back up. Soooo, maybe go somewhere else if your thinking of stopping.
