History

Established in 1967.

Dr. Royal Jester opened Kearney Eye Associates in 1967 on Avenue A. In October 1995, Kearney Eye Associates became Kearney Eye Institute and moved to its current building on 39^th Street in Kearney. Staff physicians Linda Blakely, M.D., Thomas Clinch, M.D., Jan Jensen, M.D., and Jerry Vaughan, O.D. have years of medical training, experience, and continuing education to ensure that you receive excellent, complete eye care in Kearney and many surrounding communities. For the convenience of our patients we offer satellite clinics in Broken Bow, Cambridge, Cozad, Holdrege, Lexington, and McCook in addition to performing surgery at hospitals in these communities.

Business Owner

Linda Blakely, M.D., joined Kearney Eye in 1994. After graduating from the University of Kansas with distinction in Microbiology and the highest distinction in Medical Technology she got her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed her Residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Blakely began performing LASIK in 1999, is a Laser Vision Gold Surgeon and is certified as an Advanced Custom Vue LASIK surgeon making Kearney Eye one of the premier laser vision correction providers in Central Nebraska. In 2010 Dr. Blakely added many cosmetic/​aesthetic services. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Nebraska Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, obtaining her recertification in 2005. Dr. Blakely and her husband have three daughters.
