We stopped on the side of the road on the way to Waianae one day because we wanted poke. Good choice! Along with poke, she had fresh opihi and lomi o’io!!! And she gave us a great deal on both. We ended up eating it all before we even got to the house! We will stop again the next time and try something new.

Bought the kukui nut poke, about a pound for $ 8 at the Eat the Street Food truck rally. We wanted the one from the cooler, but she insisted in giving us the container on the table because she said she just took the container out, but it was a little warm and fishy, so it didn’t taste fresh. Perhaps because it was sitting out on the table, or because it was later in the day.

I got to try their pasteles and panadijah at the eat the street food truck rally. Another thing that looked good was their pastele stew. I’ve only had pasteles a couple of times and wanted to give theirs a try. I also heard about the panadijah that was supposed to be good so we also gave that a try. The pastele was pretty good and reasonably priced at $ 3 for the size. The panadijah is like a large fried empanada with a meat filling that was also pretty good. Next time i catch them I def want to try their pastele stew and gandule rice, as i’ve never had that in FOREVER! lol

My husband and I drove by this Pastele & Poke truck so many times we just had to give it a try. I ended up getting a small stew and panadijah. Very savory! Since it was our last day, we didn’t want to get the poke b/c we weren’t sure if we’d finish it all… I figure we’ll save that for the next time we’re in town. Thank you Malia for your hospitality and letting us sample your foods and help us determine what to order out of all the yummy food your serve.

A definite must stop/try for visitors and natives, lol, if you see the little white truck on the right side of the road with Malia’s across the side of Farrington Hwy westbound just after the barbers pt exit. The panedija is the best I ever had. You must get the deluxe, the batter is thin and crunchy and the insides is perfectly seasoned warm yummy goodness. The poke and Pasteles here is broke DA mouft as well. Like crack. I no lie. I don’t know where else you can find oio crabs shrimps. Like the man before me said, Aunty Malia is as nice as it gets. Working hard every weekend to bring the pure happiness of her late mothers recipes for the world to enjoy. Check it out!!! Friday — Sunday @ 10A-6P

YOUMUSTGIVETHISFOODTRUCK A TRY! OK, so I don’t usually gush that much about a food truck but this was fantastic. We stopped here on our way to Ko’olina Beach… we were driving along the highway and passed the truck and made a u-turn. Let’s say that we made a great choice to stop here for lunch! What we ordered: Pasteles Stew Bowl: The stew was a savory concoction pour over perfectly cooked and seasoned Gandule rice . Poke: the poke was sprinkled with a local nut and bathed in wonder sweet soy sauce. Super fresh. Mac Salad: just the right amount of mayo and spices. Tasty. Malia was very cool. Since we uncertain about several of the choices she gave us samples and everything we tried was delectable. I told her that I would write a review about her on Unilocal and here I am. So if you on the west side of the island, you need stop here. It’s right of the highway so you will have to keep an eye out for the truck. The poke here was just as good as Ono’s!
