55 Pawsh Place

Wooo! Another awesome pet store on island is always appreciated. Especially when it is a local option near the large chain pet store nearby!
This is an all-​natural pet store, much like Calvin and Susie, in town. There is a wide selection of different pet foods and treats– all top of the line! The prices were a little high but I think it is worth it to support local businesses! There was even a sale rack!
I personally came in to pick out a new collar for Koa, my Italian greyhound. Unbeknownst to me, I picked a cat collar! The sales clerk was very helpful though and suggested a good brand for me to look through: RedDingo. I bought a black and grey collar that was cute but not too feminine! So far, after three weeks, the collar is awesome– perfect for walks and runs and not fraying, etc!
The sales clerk was really nice and the store was quiet, clean and well organized. I also bought some Zuke’s brand treats– Koa’s favorite!
Next time I am in Kapolei I will definitely come back in…

Small place near Tiffany’s Nails and Jamba Juice. You can find holistic food for you fur-​friend!
Look for the sale shelf, you can find lots of things for half the price.

Horrible customer service. My wife called and asked for prices on specific treatments for my dog. They refused to give us prices and instead, told us to just look for it online… are you serious??? I had better customer service at a Walmart… smh smh

Great product assortment and knowledgeable staff. I always stop by this shop before heading back to California.
I never leave feeling like I was told to buy product I didn’t need.

The Pawsh place swag is like animal crack. Origen, Buddy Biscuits, the elk bone thing that my chomp everything Irish Setter can barely make a dent in… all wonderfully good for him and it shows. I catch him dancing to «I’m sexy and I know it» in the mirror.
The groomer, vet, etc. all comment about his sexified appearance since his Pawsh Place lifestyle. The kitties love their «stinkies» aka the dried fish treats. Service is amazing — the owner is friendly and psychically knows not just what my pets already like but his recommendations are spot-on…they become addicts to the new things he has them try. The whole family loves this pet store because it keeps the critters happy and healthy.

My dog Shotzie and I love this store! When I moved here from Seattle and added Shotzie to my family, I was worried I would not be able to find my favorite dog food brand,(Orijen) no need to worry I found it here! 55 Pawsh Place is by far the best dog store on the Island! The owner David is awesome and has the best food options on the island. I don’t understand why people say the store is too expensive, everything on the island cost a lot. I want only the best for my dog and they have it and more at 55 Pawsh Place!
As for toys and such, they have the best quality toys and collars I have found here, and I don’t think they are to much money. They cost about the same on the mainland. I have always been one to support local business and would rather give the little bit more it costs me support a local business, then then take my money to a huge corporation…
Shotzie and I will miss David, and 55 Pawsh Place when we move back to Seattle this May. We Love this store and the wonderful people that work there! :-) if you have not been, GO… You and your pet will love all the wonderful things they have to offer.

The WORST customer service ever. Seriously the male owner needs to go and buy himself a new personality. Upon entrance to store, he provides NO welcome smile or greeting. Upon browsing shelves, he provides NO help– and the worst part is that when you initiate a question to him, the reply is somber morbid and leaves you feeling like you burdened him and that you are pathetic for asking him such a dumb question. Each visit, he makes me feel depressed and sad.
Inventory wise– the owner has interesting selections that most other stores do not shelve. But then the sky rocket price comes in to balance out this great find

I hate to use the word pointless but I guess I just feel that this store could provide so much more. The prices aren’t great. The selection is not fabulous. The customer service was even worse than the two above. It made me sad.
I went in looking for grooming… which I found out they don’t do. Fair enough. I looked around and although there were cute things I thought it was rather pricey. There was nothing here that I could not get at Petco or another cute little doggie store for probably ¹⁄₃ of the price.
I think the thing that disappointed me the most was the fact that the guy working was so unwelcoming. I asked about grooming and it was almost like that question inconvenienced him. He did not ask me if he could help me find anything (although I was perusing the store) and didn’t even make small talk… even though I was the only person in the place. I am all for supporting small businesses. I think in our economy it is critical but, if I am going to, the customer service better be spot on. It wasn’t here and for that reason I won’t be returning. Sorry guys :(

An «upscale» type of pet shop located in Kapolei along a bunch of other stores near Chevon Gas Station. Tiffany’s Nail and Starbucks are near by.
They have a little bit of everything: plush toys, food, treats, harnesses, clothes, leashes, beds, blankets, feeding bowls, and the list goes on…
PAWSH is a name that definitely matches this place! (as does the PRICES) A little on the pricier side but the items are a little more «upscale». A chew toy is almost $ 15 (well the one that I picked up anyway! It was a while back that I visited but I do recall that everything was expensive. The store itself has a nice layout and you just get a «pawsh» feel from the store.
My dogs won’t wear clothes and aren’t carried around in special bags so the only thing I was really looking for was toys.
I ended up buying a few toys, but nothing fancy or out of the ordinary.
I love my doggies… but they’re just as happy with toys that I buy from Walmart or Petco and won’t know how much Mommy spends on their toys and blankets…

My dog loves Pawsh Place. Especially when she gets to go too! David (the owner) knows both his four legged, and two legged customers very well! After my
first visit he not only remembered my dog by name, but also what product I buy for her! On a later visit, I told him that I was looking for something for my sister’s dog. He instantly knew my sister’s name and her dog’s name. But what was even more impressive was that he knew off the top of his head what dog food he eats and led me to the bag! Now THAT’S customer service that will keep me (and my dog) loyal!

David (owner) is very helpful and knowledgeable about the products he carries. I love that he also selects products based on the needs and safety of the pet. This is a fabulous pet store. I’m so happy I found 55 Pawsh Place, I never have to go to Pet-​co again! :)

LOVE IT! I stop in here once every couple weeks because I love to window shop for my pup… but I really do buy things form here often. They have toys, food, treats, and many utility things for dogs and cats. They just recently started carrying Orijen which I was driving to Honolulu to get so I am very excited. The staff is friendly and always willing to help! I have ordered many Red Dingo tags here for my dogs collars and they have the most adorable Hawaiian print blankets and car seat covers. If you need something, they can order it. If you are looking for some unique items… this is the place to go and pets are always welcome when on a leash :)

This store truly represents what a good pet store should be. You can tell as soon as the owner (David) starts talking to you that petcare is not a business for him but a passion. He has good background info on breeds and their sizes, and what will go with each breed.
For me Pawsh Place is great because I like to buy this «speciality» dog food, called Orijen. It is high quality and grain free, and somewhat hard to find in stores locally. The owner David even hooked me up with a free trial size bag to try feeding my dog when I first contemplated the brand, which he ended up loving! When you buy dog food you can also be put on their buyers program which keeps track of your purchases, (not sure if there’s any reward at the end, because I haven’t bought that much yet).
Items in the store are pretty unique esp their toys, I recently bought deer antlers (yes real deer antlers) for my dog (a shiba inu), which he really liked. They last longer than reg chew toys and bones, and are much safer than bones because they don’t splinter as big or as easily. If you are looking for quality dog products SHOP HERE!
I recently made a few suggestions to a «new» pet store in Waikele, to offer Orijen and the deer antlers (lol), since they are a «new store» and were asking for suggestions. However they replied with «thanks for your suggestions, but it is highly unlikely we will carry those kinds of items»… I guess because high quality dog food and toys is high risk for loss in profit or maybe it seems too high maintenance for them??? Just sayin… Oh well long live 55 pawsh place! I’ll be returning for more! :)

In a world filled with crazy human beings, how can you not love animals? Especially dogs. Cats are aight, some of them are aight. Enough of my blabber, and on to more relevant blabber.
55 Pawsh Place is the best boutique pet store that I have ever been to. I’ve been to some good ones in California and Oregon though I don’t remember the names. 55 Pawsh just sticks out. They have the ability to fulfill your every need and then some. Tons of fantastic usefull products that both you and your pets will enjoy. Great selection. Services was very knowledgeable and helpful. Made shopping highly enjoyable. Great gifts year round. Highly recommend checking these dudes out.

I have been to multiple premium pet stores on the island and this store has the largest selection. 55 Pawsh Place has a lot of natural food, innovative toys and accessories. Their prices are also very competitive and they are comparable to prices in the mainland. They carry TropiClean shampoo that is the cheapest all-​natural shampoo I’ve seen on the island.
The place is clean, spacious and the staff is very helpful. I love that they can order anything for you. Also, they have a Facebook page that updates you about their new products and they reply to your questions almost instantly.
The only downside is their clothes and collar choices are not huge (maybe when I went) and they need to carry more grain-​free food. Even if I have to drive 45 minutes to get there, it’s well worth it!

It is Pawsh! If you love your pet, you’ll love 55 Pawsh Place. It’s dedicated to all 4 legged species and aqua life. Their selection is selective and thoughtful. Great customer service. A welcoming enviroment for you and your pet. A hidden gem of a store!

I love dogs so when I heard Kapolei had a new Pet Store, I had to check it out!
55 PAWSH PLACE opened its doors on Labor Day, welcoming both pet lovers and their furry friends to not only socialize, but to shop together. What use to be a salon, this spacious area has been well designed to easily navigate thru with any size pet.
When you first walk in, you are greeted with doggy beds, unique collars, clothing, and toys. The next area houses a couch and a book shelf displaying books of course and cute picture frames and mugs — great gift ideas! This library section reminds me of sitting at a borders but here, you get to read with your dog beside you! The dining room/​kitchen area naturally carries the food and treats. What is great about this store is that they only sell natural foods — no preservatives! I purchased my dogs a bag of Mother Nature natural dog biscuits made with turkey, chicken, cranberries, and carrots — woof! (to translate — yum!).
The bathroom area displays all the grooming necessities — shampoo, toothbrush, sanitary garments, etc. For the hair care line, they carry products from TROPICLEAN– formulated with therapeutic, organic extracts and the only 100% biodegradable container available! And the scents they come in are awesome — kiwi and papaya to name a few. A unique item I discovered was the toothbrush holder shaped like a dog — how cute! And next to the register, you can find items like dog gates/​pens, more toys, fish supplies, etc.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner, David Souza, and you can tell he is a true animal lover. His idea of creating a warm and welcoming experience for all was successfully executed. David mentioned to me that they plan in carrying more products and having an area set-​up in the «bathroom» where owners can try grooming items on their pets such as shampoos. What a great idea! Warning — this doesn’t mean that you can take your dog for a free bath session every week:)
Since there is more to come, I will give 55 Pawsh four stars for now. I will provide you all an update in a few months. Until then, all you pet lovers, especially dog owners, should come out and check it out.
