Waipouli Beach Resort

We had a great time at this resort. Its a fun place for kids, the pool is amazing. Its right on the water and you can get some amazing photos first thing in the morning. This place is centrally located and right across the street from a grocery store and a Starbucks. We had a wonderful time.

Perfect resort for our family of five. Our little ones loved the pool, water slides, sandy splash pool and kids hot tub. They also loved feeding the koi fish on Sunday and Thursday mornings (8:30 am if you’re interested). The gym was not huge but had all the cardio machines and a decent selection of weight machines and dumbbells. There was also ice cold filtered water in the gym, which was convenient when sitting by the pool. This isn’t a huge resort, so there was no pool side service and it’s not unlimited towels… you can have a max of 6 per day. Not unreasonable in my opinion, but if you’re going between beach and pool in one day, you have to plan accordingly. This sits very close to the Kapaa running/​bike path which takes you to Lydgate Beach to the south and to Kapaa Beach Park and Kealia Beach Park to the north.
Our unit (D104) was right next to the lobby with a garden/​pool view. Two large bedrooms, both with large ensuite bathrooms. One bedroom had a king and the other had one king and one queen sized bed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and there’s a Safeway, Starbucks and ice cream shop across the street.
We rented with VRBO and it was managed by Kauai Exclusive. They they let us stay in the until until our red eye flight (free of charge) and we felt it was a good way to call it even since our dishwasher was broken for three days of our stay.

They charge $ 80 per night (EXTRA) if you ask for new towels/​turnover service.
Additionally they bill $ 200 at check out for «Cleaning Service». Seems like a rip off

Excellent accommodations! Quality, service, location, comfort… every need thought of and provided without request. Washer/​dryer was a plus. The only issue we had was the safe didn’t work. Initial response was that the battery was dead but they didn’t advertise safes as an amenity (true). However within the hour was a knock at the door and a safe: times the size of the inoperable one was delivered on a bell cart to our condo. Kauai Calls was our property management company — I highly recommend!

Absolutely the most beautiful resort. If you decide to stay there you won’t regret! Spacious, luxurious and gorgeous.

I had an amazing week here! I felt so at home, so much so that I am considering buying here in the future. The grounds were immaculate, as was our room. The pool area is amazing! And the beautiful beach! There is a Safeway across the street, a Starbucks, and in general is very very conveniently located! I made frequent trips to the north, south, and west sides of the island very easily. Can’t wait to come back… Hopefully forever!

The couch sofa and leg rest chair in our suite are filthy. I’m surprised that they even allow such suite to be rented out.

RENT HERE! We saw this resort thru VRBO and thru Patrick of
. Patrick was very helpful to all our questions. we also had a free concierge assign person (Sonja and Thomas) where we book our sunshine helicopter and sunset Catamaran Sail. These people will make you feel welcome and they send you a text and you can send a text back for any concerns and question and get a response right away.
Check in time was 3pm and check out was 10am. We are in room G303 (third floor) and face the NouNou mountain and parking lot.
The pool was excellent and huge. Slides were fun for us. the Sand pool for the babies and small one will love the pool too. they have a family hot spa too. They will only allow 6 towel per day and they will give you a wrist band to access the pool and enter your access code.
Parking has lots of space and clean. the hi-​way going in and out to safeway and stores can be very busy but very convinient.
We will stay here again when we get back to Kauai.

I really like this place, but a few small changes could make it superb:
First, what they did right: great location, the rooms are always consistently clean and new looking. They have a small bar and grill on the water (more on that later), and an amazing pool with 2 water slides, waterfalls, grottos, and a lazy river.
However, a few things they can improve on:
1. Their towel exchange policy is a bit Draconian; they only allow 6 clean pool towels a day. With a family of 4 using your towels at the beach I think that’s a bit shy. I’d recommend not putting a limit on this.
2. Although there is a bar and grill mentioned above, unfortunately they don’t offer any service outside of the restaurant (not by the pool, not in the rooms, etc). First world problem, I know. Since they already have someone that is outside fixing the lounge chairs and telling kids not to jump off the rocks, I would recommend that they start offering pool service for snacks/​drinks. Heck, they could even add a service fee and I don’t think anyone would mind.
3. Trying to get anyone at the front desk is very hit and miss. One time I stood there for 20 minutes while some lady kept asking them what type of payment types they took and what the best food places to eat would be.
All in all, this place is great.

Our condo we rented was nice enough. Two bedroom three bath was nice and lots of room for our family of four. I did not like the resort itself. For what you pay, there are basically no amenities. No towel service the whole week. You have to wash your own towels. Dishwasher didn’t clean well so that’s gross. The pool is locked up like a Fort Knox. You have to enter (and remember) a million digit code to get in. Ridiculous. This is Kauai not the Bronx. Staff never smiled the whole time we were there. Towel service at the pool only allows you clean towels once/​day. Again, for what you pay you should have a clean towel whenever you want. Outdoor grills were not in working order. Of 4 grills, only two total burners were working. Took one guy over an hour to cook 2 chicken breasts. There was no staff there when we checked in at night. Just a security guard that pointed us in the direction of our condo. Couldn’t figure out the ac so sweated it our that night since there was no one to ask. Anything we asked for during our stay the answer was always no. They do not exist to make your stay enjoyable. They just exist.

Hotel room is very nice. However, my complaint is against the pool security. Every time I was at the pool I have witnessed several altercations between staff and guests. It seems the staff feels the need to harass guests to make sure they are staying here. I have overheard other guests talking about how rude they were treated. As much as they charge here you would think they would be more customer service oriented.

This resort was beautiful, my kids enjoyed the pool, the beach was beautiful but not great for swimming. The location was perfect! If your rental is being managed by Kauai Exclusive Management, request a final inspection/​sign off on the day of your departure. Protect yourself of any wrongful accusations.

LOVE THIS PLACE. It’s great. Our family has been back to Kauai and these condos 5 times in the past 7 years… and they still look just as nice when they were new as they do now… and so do all the grounds! The pool is great for kids and my family spent their whole time on the watersides. My only complaint is that there are too many people around the huge pool and I wish there was more space. It would also be nice if they had pool food /​drink service — — although they do have a restaurant right on the beach on property that you can get food/​drinks from.

We love this place. We rented a 1 BR/​2BA and are so pleased with it. It has a fully-​equipped kitchen and a washer/​dryer, which is so convenient. We also appreciated the fact that there were beach towels, beach chairs, sunscreen, umbrellas, etc to make our stay more enjoyable and homey. The pool has a lazy river and two slides. The resort is right across from the Safeway, so we were able to stock up on breakfast and lunch items. We even bought steaks from Costco one night and grilled out on one of the four available grills at the resort. So nice to be on vacation but have little pieces of home.

Beautiful condo, gorgeous views, great pool, amazing sunrise over the beach. Loved every minute.

We stayed here for a week in January renting a 2-​bedroom condo in one of the 8 buildings in this large complex. Many of the units are rented privately, like ours, by owner, and others seem to be rented by a management firm.
Our unit was on the second floor in build F (each building had 4 floors) making it easy to just use the stairs to come and go. The unit was well equipped with a king bed in one room, a queen in the other and a pull-​out sofa sleeper. It was perfect for our family of 4. The condo complex seemed new and it was very well tended. The very large pool had 2 small water slides, several large swimming areas, a small shallow pool with a pebbly bottom for little kids and 2 large hot tubs — one reserved just for adults. Towels were provided as part of the rental and you could exchange them each day of the stay down by the pool.
Their was a small beach just behind the pool and we even saw an endagered Monk Seal one day waddle up for a rest on the beach. The staff is super friendly and constantly cleaning to keep everything nice. There is even a concierge in the lobby if you want any help making plans for dinner or excursions.
All in all we had a very nice stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place. Being on the east side of the island was nice too as it meant we were «half-​way» to the sights on the north or sights on the south and there were 2 large grocery stores literally acorss the street making it easy to have a few meals in the condo.

RENT HERE! It is the Outrigger Waipouli, but you can rent exact units from sites like VRBO.
We loved the location — Kapa’a is nicely between the north side (Na Pali, Princeville), and the south side (Poipu and beyond). It was nice to never have a SUPER long drive anywhere, and the weather was always nice.
The hotel itself is a good property. You can walk to the beach in two minutes, and many of the rooms have beautiful views (ours sure did!).

we stayed here on our honeymoon. we stayed in G301 which was an awesome room — 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, top-​notch kitchen, balconies and great common area. The resort is great if you want something not too large (too many people), on the ocean, with pool/​3 hot tubs, great restaurant, lots of places in walking distance (Papaya food market is like a whole foods and is 3 minutes across the street by foot).
a key here was that we rented through the guys at Kauai Exclusive Management. They are the agents for this unit and others at this property. they gave us a great price (for 5 nights) and when we had a minor problem they were on site and fixed it within the hour.
location is great in the middle of the island, everything you need is there (spa too) and with a sweet kitchen you can make your own meals (relaxing breakfast or grill dinner fish by the pool).
