Established in 2001.
Wahooo Seafood Grill & Bar is operated by Owner/Chef John Borales, Jr. who has been excelling in the Food and Beverage Industry since 1971. His culinary experience spans several decades and includes positions from Sous Chef to Excecutive Chef, and includes ownership of several highly successful restaurants. John’s love for exotic local ingredients and fresh Hawaiian seafood has come together in a symphony of flavors and is now showcased at Wahooo’s.

Business Owner
Born on the Big Island, John worked his way up in the food service industry from the age of 15. He became executive chef of the Waiakea Village Resort at the age of 19. He was then selected to take over as the executive sous chef at the Kauai Surf Hotel. John was also hired to open the Holiday Inn Coconut Beach in Waipouli as their executive chef. Then, In 1985, he became self-employed as Owner/Chef of The House of Seafood in Poipu on Kauai, the Terrace Restaurant at Kauai Lagoons, and is currently the owner/Executive chef at Wahooo Seafood Grill & Bar in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii.
