ALOHA!
History
Established in 1999.
Troy Trujillo came out to Kauai on a surf vacation in 1998 and bought an old restaurant on Kuhio hwy in downtown Kapaa that had been family owned for a generation and closed for many years. It was called «Olympic Café» because the original owners had been friends with Duke Kahanamakau, the first Hawaiian to medal in The Olympic Games. The original restaurant had Duke Olympic memorabilia. The new Olympic Café has only one photo of Duke Kahanamakau, taken with Amilia Earheart. Since buying The Olympic Café, Troy has moved the location to an open-air venue across the street from the original location, started serving dinner and added a full bar.
