T Loft

I am commenting on this location, because it’s my favorite. The country club location isn’t as cozy, and the leawood one is staffed with kind of snobby young girls. The stateline location has a more mature, friendly and laid-​back staff.
The fresh juices are amazing. My favorite is the warrior. It’s a great blend of cucumber and pineapple with cayenne. I’ve tried at least six others. The mean and clean, the alive and alert — they’re all delicious.
The meals are pretty darn good, too. The grecian has a great Mediterranean flavor although I’d rather pass on the vinaigrette, which is kind of sweet. The spicy chicken is flavorful, with a nice buffalo sauce. Delicious, healthy and filling.
Their protein shakes are tasty and filling, although they could use a little more flavor. I usually ask them to put more banana in the almond one, or some cinnamon in the funky monkey one, and it works.
The protein balls are decadent, but don’t have any sugar. I especially like the cocoa ones. They make a great snack for on the go.
As for teas. The chai tea is nice and spicy. The blueberry is wonderful. My favorite is the coconut cream, which is amazingly coconutty.
The service is really good and the servers are friendly. They’re willing to make any substitutions you want.
Cons:
The only sweetener available for teas is honey. I like to eat healthy, but it would be nice to have a sugar substitute or sugar in the raw. I’m just not that into honey.
Some of the food can be bland. To be fair, it could be because I pass on the vinaigrette. I always have to add salt, and I’m not a super salter.
I’ll mention what some others mentioned. The music sucks. It’s obnoxious. Sometimes I like to work on my computer in there, and the music is annoying and distracting. I’d rather hear something relaxing, like smooth jazz or something more «adult.»
If it gets busy, the service can get slow. That’s not really the servers’ fault. The place is small, and I’ve noticed they’ve got limited resources. I think they may be understaffing.
The servers’ uniforms look like they’ve been exercising, which is silly and kind of sloppy-​looking, and it doesn’t match the «hip» décor. That neither affects the quality of the food, nor the service. Just an observation.
One thing I do, because I once worked in food, is ask the workers how the job is. That’s because I don’t want my money to go to unethical business owners. I just asked «So when do you get a break?» Found out Missouri doesn’t require breaks and from the server’s puzzled reaction, they’re not getting any. Not cool.

After reading other reviews I was a bit nervous but I’m glad I have t loft a try! The spicy chicken bowl was yummy and more than filling, however, I think it was a bit pricey for the portion size– just a small gripe and hardly a deal breaker. The cashier was very friendly and was able to get my food out in a reasonable amount of time, always a plus when hungry!

I like this location much better than the Plaza location. Much different type of employee here. Same items on the menu. I love all of the various bowls I have tried. Perfect meal for me that I need to master at home. I have not tried any smoothies, maybe some day I will jump on the smootie bandwagon. The protein balls are on the radar and they look amazing. If you want a good and healthy lunch alternative, TLoft is your place.
Space is limited. and the set up can get bogged down when busy. Service is friendly. I think prices are great and the bowls will leave you feeling full.

This place was great! The store all around feels good and looks clean. I got the cucumber smoothie, green tea and Basil Chicken salad. The cucumber smoothie was great for getting over a hangover and the salad was small it was delicious and freshly cooked, I would buy them both again. After a workout, for a hangover or just lunch – I would recommend this place, so good!

What a gem of a spot! First visit. Had black lavendar iced tea — very refreshing — along with the Primal Bowl. Dish was served piping hot with fresh ingredients including chicken, cashews, shredded carrot, onion, broccoli, and mushrooms in a light Asian sauce — simple and delicious. Portion was just right with a published calorie count of 204 calories! The atmosphere is unassuming, but warm and inviting. I will be back every time I visit the nail salon next door! May have to check out their other 2 locations.

Come here to get your fix of healthy fast food. I’m not a fan of «healthy» foods and I actually enjoyed it.
T. Loft is a hip little place on state line that serves up some delicious treats and drinks, as well as some interesting meals.
The locale is decorated in what I can only describe as farmhouse-​chic, that’s a thing right?
It has large chandeliers, and nice chairs and couches in a living room-​like area that contrast with the bucket lamps over the wood tables. It’s all very elegant and works well together, without semming to pretentious.
When it come to the food they go for trendy, healthy options, with things like kale, goat cheese, and quinoa. I tried the Healthy Harvest, which has turkey, quinoa, cranberries, sweet potatoes, kale, apples, goat cheese and a cranberry pear vinaigrette. They heat up and mix up the meal on skillets behind the counter so you’ll have the aroma of the food and it’ll come out warm. I enjoyed the dish, but it was at times a bit too sweet, maybe too much vinaigrette or cranberries on certain bites. At $ 8 it wasn’t much more expensive that other fast food options.
T. Loft really excels in the juice department, with a large variety of juices, smoothies, shotters, power drinks, and teas. They also offer snacks like cookies, muffins, and protein balls (mostly peanut butter balls about the size of ping pong balls with all sorts of seeds and other healthy –sounding stuff)
Worth checking out of you want a healthier option for your meals, or for a light snack.

I brought my parents here for a post-​Thanksgiving, let’s-avoid-Black-Friday brunch. My stepdad has Celiac and it’s difficult for him to enjoy new restaurants. It’s always a crap shoot whether or not an eating establishment understands the difference between «I don’t want the bread, please» and «If you touch that dude’s hamburger bun and then my salad without washing your hands, I’m going to be very ill for the next several weeks» so it takes him awhile to feel comfortable at a new place. As a result, he stays home or eats at Red Robin. I hoped that bringing him to a 100% GF restaurant would be a welcome change.
I was right. When we walked in, we were greeted promptly by the staff. My stepdad immediately asked, «Is everything here really gluten-​free?» His smile when the server said yes was heart-​warming. He doesn’t often get to go somewhere where he doesn’t have to request a special menu. My mom was pretty thrilled at the thought of not having to interrogate the people behind the counter about cross-​contamination practices. (Yes, we’re THAT family when we go out to eat. It’s important when a bite of the wrong thing would essentially poison our patriarch. We tip well, I promise.)
We all ordered. I’m diabetic, so the nutrition listings on the menu were very helpful. I had the Sunrise Scramble, mostly because 6 net carbs, what?!? I wasn’t expecting it to come out so quickly, be so hot, fresh, and damned delicious, but it was. My stepdad had the Buffalo Chicken Bowl and Mom ordered the Chicken Salad. The general consensus was everything was wildly tasty but my order carried the day. (I love winning at ordering!) Which brings me to another point — my stepdad got to TRY EVERYTHING! This may seem like a small thing, but he was like a kid in a candy store. Generally when we go out to eat, he’s kind of sequestered on his side of the table with his order while the rest of us sample each other’s food and fling gluten about. At t. Loft, he got to join in the fun as we compared plates — he even finished what Mom and I couldn’t.
The teas were great. They were served looseleaf and my Moroccan Mint was exceptionally fragrant and flavorful. Mom went the more traditional route, with an English Breakfast that was both rich and complex. The cups they serve tea in have a filter in the top that prevent the tea leaves from flooding into your mouth and we all had what must have been a five minute conversation about how cool they were and whether or not we could talk the staff into letting us take some home with us. We didn’t ask, but I bet they would have given us a few. Everyone there was super friendly and one of the guys working even stopped by our table to check in and chat with us about franchising in Saint Louis, and how badly STL could do with a place like this. (I’m telling you, I think my parents would have cut a check then and there, they loved t. Loft so much.)
The décor is hipster-​trendy and t. Loft is very clean. I wasn’t thrilled with the music selection (pop-​princesses aren’t really my thing) but I can overlook it. I noticed that the volume was a little high when we first walked in but we were the only people there at the time and they immediately turned it down as we perused the menu.
Look, eating out with someone with severe food allergies/​intolerances can be rough. You’re always a little worried that something will taint the experience, and possibly your family member’s food. I just really want to thank the team at t. Loft from the bottom of my heart. I can’t remember a time when my parents and I shared a meal out that was so relaxed. We were practically giddy by the end of the meal, and it was incredible, getting to see my stepdad enjoy a new restaurant with no fear. I highly recommend, especially for people with food allergies, and can tell you, we’ve already made plans to go back next time the family is in town. Thank you, t. Loft!

Refreshing options on this menu. They have salads and bowls, protein balls, smoothies, juices, snacks and meals… They even have a cleanse system too. Very healthy options.

Well, looking at the reviews that were posted like 11 months ago, I feel kinda stupid. I did NOT know this place existed until a week ago, and I’ve probably passed this little strip mall area a millllllionnnnnn times.
But now I know that t. Loft exists, I will come here after I get my bi-​weekly pay checks… or when I «feel» healthy after a workout. That said, you are definitely paying for the quality of your food here – smoothies/​juices are around $ 4 and Chipotle-​looking salad bowls are $ 8. Unfortunately, they don’t have coffee drinks. :(
I had the opportunity to try the Alive & Alert (green healthy yummy stuff; try it) and the Nutella protein ball thing. They were pretty good, I feel guilty about the pizza I ate now (review about Pizza Studio following). I was slightly disappointed at the Medium size we paid for though. Meh. Just wasn’t enough for two people.
There’s a pretty clean atmosphere here. My boyfriend explained it to look like «Pinterest exploded in here» and I can’t say I disagree with him.
Only other small thing I feel obligated to mention is that cell phone signal SUCKS in there (if you have T-​Mobile)! No service at all, but at least they have wi-​fi. So despite that, I’d say t. Loft is a nice little place to reward yourself after a workout, to meet up with a buddy, or sneak some veggies in for the day.

It’s about time I wrote a review for t. Loft. Especially since I noticed most of the reviews only talk about the juices. We need to talk about the food. The amazing delicious meal bowls… Heaven. How is the primal bowl under 300 cals?! I don’t know but I could eat one every day! The protein balls are also amazing. What is great about t. Loft is that everything is natural. No additives, no preservatives, no artificial ingredients, and for all you gluten allergy people, the entire menu is gluten free! T. Loft is a great find in KC and a staple in my favorite places to go. It’s my treat when I’m being very healthy and even though it feels like cheating, you get to stay on track and not feel guilty. I can’t wait for the plaza location to open!!! All they need now is delivery… :)

This is the most delicious, healthy, and guilt-​free eating place! It’s so good, I’m coming back tomorrow! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a new, healthy spot to hit for any meal of the day!

While I was definitely excited for the healthier options compared to other places in the area, I was left unimpressed by the portion size as well as the staff knowledge. I got the «primal bowl» which is suppose to be their Paleo option.
I asked if the teriyaki sauce had soy in it and the girl taking my order told me it definitely didn’t. I can’t eat soy, so this was an important bit of information to get.
1 hour later and I felt like crap. I called and asked to speak to a manager and what do you know, it does have soy in it. 1.) a paleo bowl shouldn’t have any soy in it. 2.) if someone tells you they have a food sensitivity or allergy, take it seriously. Glad it wasn’t one of my food allergies that causes anaphylaxis but still, not a fun afternoon for me.
They did offer to refund me, which i appreciate. More importantly though, restaurants need to fully train their employees about the dangers of food allergies and taking them seriously. I expected if anywhere would understand that it would be T. Loft, since it was started out of a passion for Celiac.

On my second visit I ordered the Southwest Salad. I don’t recommend it. It’s very oily and not very flavorful. The dressing is described as southwest ranch but really seems to be oil with southwest seasonings. I’ll either go back to the rockin lentil or try something else next time.

One of my fav spots in KC! Healthy food that actually tastes good, and at a fair price. I always get the buffalo bowl and an E3 shot. Always good unless they run out of blue cheese and remember the extra avocado. Peanut butter balls make a tasty, healthy dessert. Def give it a try!

This is my kind of place! Healthy, fresh food for the win!
I came here to get some work done on a Sunday afternoon. Free wifi — just need to ask for the password. I had the Blue Maui smoothie which contains fruit and spinach. It was quite tasty! I need to return with more of an appetite and try an energy ball or bowl.
Note, I came around 3 and they were out of brownies and any muffins. Only energy balls left as far as baked goods go.

When you walk into most places and order 10 drinks and 10 meals to go, they look at you with some glare. I did this yesterday at t. loft and they couldn’t have been more pleasant! They helped me select which items would work well for my needs and packed everything I needed before I left.
On top of the excellent customer service, the food and drinks are AMAZING. We had three different juices and they all were delicious and full of flavor. T. loft posts their menu with the number of calories, carbs and fats so it’s easy to make a decision you feel good about. There are so many healthy choices and everything is gluten free. We had assorted salads and they were all fresh and tasty.
I’d recommend trying t. loft’s protein balls — they are the perfect snack. If you’re looking for a post workout snack or meal or even if you want to meet someone for a healthy lunch — t. loft is your place to go. You won’t have to worry about altering menu items to make them healthy because t. loft’s menu does that for you.

Sorry, T Loft doesn’t get my vote anymore. I’m excited for the juice curve to hit KC in a big way with actual good palatable food and decent customer service.
Why, if you’re the only person in the place would the gal making your drink yell across the room for you to pick it up in the way back??? Why not be normal and bring it up to the front.

I’m definitely a fan of T loft! My only complaint is that I wish they didn’t play such loud/​obnoxious music because if they didn’t, it would be a great place to study or get work done. The smoothies and juices are all fresh and made in front of you with real ingredients, not sugary pre-​packaged mixes. I’ve also tried a few of their treats in the front display case. The protein balls are delicious, and their paleo muffin wasn’t bad at all even for someone like me who is used to scarfing down gluten-​y goodness in my baked goods. If you’re looking for a healthy pick-​me-​up, I recommend T loft :)

T Loft is a trendy spot that looks like a real life Pinterest board inside, and man can they make some awesome juices and teas.
The whole vibe of T Loft is quality, and it delivers. I have tried their «Immunitea“with green tea, fruit juices and cucumber. It’s delicious, but also the same price you’ll probably pay for a quick lunch.
I’m also sold on the little protein balls they have for $ 1 — usually some combo of peanut butter and protein and deliciousness.
It didn’t seem like the spot on State Line, tucked into a strip mall, would take off, but they really have and the new (ish) spot in Park Place proves it. Definitely worthy of checking out.

I feel so bad leaving a poor review for a local business. I love supporting local businesses, but honestly, this one needs some tweaking before it offers the experience it should. The décor is beautiful, so it makes a nice first impression. Unfortunately, that’s where the good ended.
There were at least 3 people working and not one of them greeted us. Although when I began to say hello, one said hello. I just hate to have to be the first person to do it, since I’m the customer. I noticed everyone working there was dressed in workout gear, even one in a baseball cap– not very professional.
The menu is confusing and we had to ask a worker how it worked to choose our food. She directed us towards clipboards where we could write down our order, and ‘inspiration books’ where we could look at options. Unfortunately, the book I looked at was sticky and a few pages had dried food on it.
I placed my order and ordered a juice to go with it. When the juice came up, my mom, who had tried to use the restroom but hadn’t been able to, since they were, unfortunately, out of TP, picked it up for me and brought it to me, but I immediately noticed some red stains on it. I touched it and realized it was BLOOD!!! When I told the girl who was currently making my food, she said ‘that’s just cayenne.’ It most definitely was not cayenne, cayenne wasn’t listed among the ingredients, and the girl who had made the juice realized then that she was bleeding!!!
She offered to re-​make my juice, but by then I was so grossed out and on the verge of throwing up, that we just decided to get a refund and leave. She apologized, but not as emphatically as I think she should have, and after she went to a closet & I hope got a band-​aid, she went in the back room and I saw her chopping food. Perhaps not the correct job for her! There was also a young child in the back room, which I believe is a violation. Or at least it was when I ran a retail store in the late 90’s/early 2000’s.
The tattooed woman in a baseball cap didn’t know how to give us a refund and tried calling someone on the telephone for help. That didn’t work, and the minutes were ticking by. I don’t believe she ever once apologized, for the blood or the fact that she didn’t know how to give a refund. As a former retail manager, I find it odd that people would be working at a store without knowing how to handle lots of situations. I understand there are lots of unforeseen issues that can arise, but surely a refund should be taught during training.
Another worker finally helped her by just telling her to open the drawer and give us cash, although when I mentioned that I’d also left a tip that I’d like back, the tattooed girl rather snarkily said ‘it doesn’t say that!’ I convinced her that I had, and she handed me $ 3, although when I checked my emailed receipt later I saw the tip was actually a bit more than that. When we left, she also very sarcastically said ‘Have a nice day!’ UGH.
I chatted briefly with another couple dining there, and they said they’d been there before and loved the food. That’s good to hear, and I’ll plan on returning when I’m assured that the customer service issues have been resolved.
