Handcrafting all of our Chocolate Truffles & Confections is an expression of our Love for our Customers & our Craft.

History

Established in 2012.

We began making homemade, hand dipped chocolates & confections in 1996 as a way for us to give heartfelt gifts to family & friends we were sure they would appreciate.

They enjoyed our creations so much that in 2005 they encouraged us to start selling our delightful delicacies; we started at craft fairs. The response was astounding! People started asking how they could order our wonderful confections at other times &, what was our web address; we knew we needed to expand.

Garza’s Goodies Chocolates & Confections has been in operation off and on for the last 7 years. In 2007, we put the business on hold to help extended family yet, we did not stop working to perfect our craft. We even became chocolatiers.

Since then, we expanded to taking orders for special occasion & special events. In June 2012, we opened our doors to business in a store where our customers may share our commitment to love craftsmanship & flavor.

We make the good stuff! All of our products are handmade in small batches with recipes tested by time. Remember those days when Grandma made the Christmas candy or the smell of her kitchen as she made fudge or caramel? You can come in and experience those with us. We love the challenge of making old memories come alive and creating new ones using all your sense. We work hard to make sure all our products are of highest standards and all our customers are treated in the best way possible.

Stopped in just to try a pastry. The owners are some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met and the sweets are amazing. I walked out with a whole box of delicious chocolates. Definitely a great place for anyone with a sweet tooth to visit.

After my mom travelled to Italy and tasted their thick, rich drinking chocolate, we have been trying to find something like it here around KC, but haven’t had much success. Recently the Kansas City Star wrote an article on the best hot chocolate in the metro area, and after reading about Garza’s Goodies’ «sipping chocolate», we knew we had to try it.
I don’t know why the place wasn’t busier, because that was the best hot chocolate I have ever had. We got the large, served in a colorful mug with 3 homemade marshmallows and chocolate shavings. It is called sipping chocolate, not hot chocolate, because it is on a completely different level from Swiss Mix and the like; it is literally liquid chocolate mixed with a bit of milk, and so rich that it’s overwhelming to take more than a sip at a time. The way the marshmallows melted and swirled into the thick chocolate transcends words. I could only finish half, and the owners understandingly gave us to-​go cups for the rest.
It would be a shame to go through the winter without trying this sipping chocolate. We, for sure, will be going back.

I finally made it out to this wonderful family shop this week… and I’ll be back.
Their salted caramel covered in chocolate is soft and melts in your mouth. The Aztec truffle stands out, with the subtle heat. The Extra Dark Chocolate Truffle is the best one I’ve had in town (yes, I’ve been to the other chocolatiers — Elbows, Annedore’s, Andre’s). The little cream pig was delicious — firmer than a marshmallow, but softer than a fruit chew.
The truffles are so exquisite that you really can’t help savoring each one, but as soon as my box is empty (I picked up 14 pieces!), I’ll find my way back there.

What an awesome shop! Milk chocolate truffle, grand marnier, and triple chocolate brandy are all superb! Excellent flavor and texture consistent with some of the best chocolates I’ve had around the country. Their caramel is also stellar and very much worth trying! Don’t be deceived by location or frills, these people make fine confections. Their truffle selection is a little more narrowed, and I appreciate that, because I’ve had almost every permutation of chocolate truffle and things like balsamic basil yadda yadda just aren’t what I’m interested in. For a unique, local chocolate experience, these people are a Must Try for Kansas City!

New to this part of town and came across this place while searching for good hot chocolate. Popped in on a Sat. afternoon and was greeted by the extremely pleasant owners. Had a hot chocolate (sipping chocolate) and a piece of caramel. Both were outstanding. The hot chocolate was the best I’ve had in town (real chocolate, not powder or milk mixed with syrup) and came with homemade marshmallows. The caramel was wonderful, too. Everything in the case looked delicious, will definitely be back.

I happened upon this little shop while visiting Second Best Coffee (practically next door) and was pleasantly surprised at the high quality chocolates and treats available in this little family owned shop. Beautiful truffles, chocolates, macarons, and candies area available at reasonable prices.

Wow, I can’t believe I’ve been driving last this place for two years and hadn’t stopped in. But this evening I did, and was hit with such a rich cocoa smell the second I walked in the door. The chocolates are beautiful, and I was happy to see they had some small baked goods as well. I got an espresso truffle and a chocolate cake pop. Both as delicious as the shop smelled. The owners were super friendly and I can’t wait to find an occasion to order a carrot cake another reviewer mentioned. It’s the kind of place you really want to see succeed.

I love gourmet chocolates.
I stopped in here after eating at Chelly’s Café, which is in the same shopping center. It is a relatively small shop, but a normal size for a chocolate shop.
The man who wrapped my chocolates was very nice & friendly, I think he was the owner. I picked out 5 or 6 chocolates, each chocolate ranged from 1.25 to 2– something. They were all very delicious. They have a frequent shoppers card, when you spend $ 10 on 5 visits, you get $ 5 off your 6th purchase.
Highly recommended! The owner told me they will have ice cream when it gets warmer, too.

My family and I occasionally pick up a box or two when we get together. Some of the best chocolates we’ve ever had – flavorful, smooth, wonderful variety, and just plain delicious.
I love the salted caramel, and once we got our hands on the chocolate covered cherry. So much better than the stuff you get at grocery stores.
Haven’t met the owners myself, but my sister-​in-​law loves them. They have an amazing story, and I’m very happy to help them out by patronizing this family business. It definitely doesn’t hurt their cause when they put out such quality products.

We had some truffles and fudge. We loved using the free peice of chocolate offered here ob Unilocal.We got 5 truffles. A peice of salted carmel. Some fudge. I loved the truffles. The salted carmel was to die for. They also offer a loyalty card for every $ 10 purchased. You get a star on your 5th purchase you get $ 10.00 off. You are also supporting a local family owned business. A husband and wife couple despite disabilities still try hard to work and support their family & community threw awesome prices and handmade love. Stop and try the free peice. It will be worth your time. Ps. Did i said the salted carmel was to die for!!!

Mmm. Oh, hi! Wait, let me lick the chocolate off my fingers :-) Oh my this place is awesome! My favorites are the sea turtles (chocolate covered caramel with pecans for the feet and head, with a little sea salt on the «back») and the aztec chocolates, truffles with a hint of cayenne pepper.
Go. Try everything. You won’t be disappointed!

This pretty new candy store really is wonderful. We have tried all types of candy and they all are great. It is in a somewhat hidden place but worth seeking out. Go south on Wornall to 85th, turn left, and then turn left into parking lot. Garza’s is to your left.

The best Carrot cake my boyfriend and I have ever had.
They made it upon request for his birthday — and it exceeded our expectations.
It was truly the most awesome cake ever.
Needless to say that we will definitely be ordering more cake.
