When they had the young brotha working the front it was cool but this places loses big time with the ratchet customer service. The service now is horrible and very rachet. Dont talk to me like im at your house asking you for a plate. I also didn’t like how one of the brotha who work there or part owner comes in with this chip on his shoulders and yelling at his children! Youre not hard folk and you have cusyomers around stop all that yelling at your kids. Typical negroes who change the whole tone when w***e folks are around despite the place looking african american centered. WILLNEVERGOBACK. The one on main is way better in service and food. First off I would like to say I support black businesses throughout Kansas City. But one thing they have in common is especially Lutfis on 63rd, their customer service is horrible. First you got the lady with the big guns who is so rude and doesn’t know how to focus on one customer at a time. They raise their prices once a week which is inconsistent. And the biggest let down of this place is how they are so stingy with THETATARSAUCE. They treat it like its liquid gold. I bought 2 pounds of fish and the ghetto girl with the braces told me I could only get two small tiny containers with each pound. Then the big gum last chimed in with her ratchet comment. Don’t sell me dish if you can’t give me some TATARSAUCE to go with it. And train your ghetto employees to be nice and smile for a change.

Great fried fish and shrimp. Red beans and rice and mac and cheese were great. But what was really the best was the friendly service. One female employee went out of her way to make my party feel well taken care of. I will definitely return to this location when its time for more fish.

Went to this Lutfi’s location last weekend. It was great, as usual for this small local chain. The service was really excellent and friendly, which was not unexpected but was very nice. The manager-seeming guy, an energetic man with attractive small dreads, a great smile, and friendly professional manner, was super nice and welcoming, and made sure we had great service. We ordered catfish and whiting. I hadn’t had the whiting here before, since I love the catfish so very much. i have changed myself, the whiting is AWESOME. Lovely fillets, skin on so it doesn’t fall apart, in the delightful crackly cornmeal crust. Also tried the fried okra which I never had before since I like the greens so much, and it was wonderful. I dunno, but I almost think they bread them in house, which sounds unbelievable for the low price but whatever, you should try them. We got a bean pie to go and haven’t eaten it yet, but will! Thank goodness we have Lutfis, I just adore this place.
