Bravo Restaurant & Cafe

Overrated and overpriced. Sub-​par service from the moment we walked in. Hadn’t been to Bravo in years, always liked the space even if the food was uneven. We needed a meal before graduation at Wings Stadium, so Our group of 5 arrived at 5 pm to an empty restaurant and 3 staff standing around. not one saw fit to smile or greet us but two asked (!?) if we had reservations. Then, somehow, it became all about where to put us — and all three scurried away leaving us standing. We got a nice table across from the bar, the wine was cold and the bread fresh. My son asked for his order of salmon and scallops to be put in as he only had a little time. (our server was attentive but had odd mannerisms) It came out fast and was excellent. The rest of the meal, meh. My Gorgonzola pizza didn’t seem to have any of that distinctive cheese; two got pasta — one was without the advertised asparagus, the Alfredo was devoid of flavor. the tab of nearly $ 200 (only 3 cocktails) sealed our determination never to return.

We were visiting for the weekend and after researching good placed to eat dinner, picked this. We were not disappointed. The food was really good and the atmosphere was perfect: it was perfect for a get-​together or family dinner. The only problem was that they forgot the appetizer we ordered but after a reminder, quickly brought it out and all was forgotten. If we are back in town, will definitely come here again.

Granted I only visited for a stamp on my Beer Passport and ended up only getting a beer and dessert, but I was overall pretty disappointed. The Melon beer tasted like PBR and the crème brûlée was cold.
The only reason I am giving three stars was for the excellent service!

We enjoyed the brunch this morning. It was very busy so I was glad we made reservation. The food was delicious but our waiter was slow to clear plates and did not check on us for a drink order for over five minutes. The price is a little high but definitely worth it based on food quality.

Golf clap. Decent décor and friendly service coupled with high prices, small portions and mediocre food.
Salad was wilty and dressing, meh. The mushroom soup was GREAT. Bread is solid.
Lasagne tasted like a frozen dinner. Salmon w scallop was OK. Fettuccine was horrible — my kid wouldn’t eat it so I tried. Weird, salty and blech…
Spumoni ice cream was good.
Is Bravo a chain? Maybe that’s the problem. You can’t make up for poor food with good customer service.

Went here Saturday night for dinner and it was a last minute idea so we did not have a reservation. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and was directed to the bar to wait for a table. In less then ten minutes we were seated at a table. We were promptly greeted by our server and explained the drink menu and their own brews. Our drinks came and then we were told about the dinner specials. I had the crab ravioli and my husband had the scampi. The ravioli was excellent with a large amount of shrimp on top. My husband said that the only problem with the scampi was that it had way to many sun dried tomatoes in it. We had no room for dessert, which I heard this place is known for. Maybe next time. Good, food, drinks, and service at this establishment.

Had our daughters college graduation dinner here this past June, with 13 in our group. Very happy that everything turned out really nice! Table was waiting when we got there, service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their dinners! Thank you for a memorable time celebrating a special day.

I am giving this 1 star review because the owners DELIGHT IN their previous employees downfall. All you have to do is ask Terry how chef Adam is doing and he will delight in telling you how the latitude whatever, used him and fired him. Chef Adam made bravo what it was and now it lacks. Shame on you terry… you are not a nice person and it shows. Chef Adam is ROCKING at GLCC… and he speaks highly of you… he is a class act

Just had the pizza, it was the bomb! My girlfriend got the chicken Alfredo she said the chicken was a little rubbery, but still good! Definitely still a place to visit!

Great people and a great menu. Dinner was exceptional and Sunday brunch is a must. Pizza is thin crust and awesome flavor. The brunch ha so many choices and they’re all delicious. Great job Joe!

My friends and I were on a Kalamazoo Brewery Crawl – we had received the «Passport» to check into the K-​zoo breweries and Bravo was on the list. This place is a restaurant that happens to brew some beer, not a brewery that happens to serve some food.
We saved this for the last and decided to roll in for Sunday brunch before heading back to Chicago. I am so glad we stopped.
Bravo opened for brunch at 10:30 and I think we got there about 10 – 15 minutes after it opened. The hostess asked if we had a reservation – we did not. Looking around the restaurant, the place looked empty. She said they were expecting a full house but if we could be done with our table by 12:30, she could seat us. Sounded strange but hey, who needs two hours to eat brunch?
OMG. What a brunch. I hate buffets. Hate. Hate. Hate buffets. But let me tell you that this was one awesome buffet. The food was so delicious. My boyfriend could not stop eating the little meatballs. I had an omelet made to order. It was so good. I had chicken breasts. Bravo chicken pasta. Meatballs. Fish. Veggies that were not cooked to death. My group left STUFFED.
The best part of the meal? It was only $ 20 per person. What???
If you are in Kalamazoo, go there. Make a reservation for Sunday brunch. Go. Eat.

I went here with my wife, and we both loved it. The staff was friendly, professional, and on top of everything. The meal was on the pricier end but well worth it. My wife loved the fish and risotto, and I enjoyed a nice shrimp pasta.
Due to the price, I would not eat here frequently, but it is great if you want to treat yourself.

Just passing through and stopped here for lunch. Very impressed. Upscale but affordable.
Had the Cobb salad, which was excellent. Not too big, not too small. Everything was very fresh.
Service was superb — courteous and attentive.
Definitely want to try the pizza next time around.

Bravo s a delightful bistro/​café. It’s slightly upscale, the prices are somewhat top-​heavy but the best value is on the Pizza menu. The atmosphere is subdued and intimate. It isn’t really cozy, but it’s warm enough to be a great place for a birthday or anniversary dinner. The bus staff and the waitstaff are exemplary, and quite fleet of foot. I wasn’t expecting much going in, but I’m duly surprised and impressed. It isn’t an all-​the-​time destination, but it is definitely a special events destination. I’m looking forward to exploring their draft beer menu when their supplies recover from the DKI Passport program.

While visiting family they treated my husband and I to their Sunday brunch.
The price of the all you can eat brunch is $ 20 a per — which is a STEAL! It comes with a mimosa too!
The fair is all you can eat but by no means your traditional «buffet» food. They offer everything from fresh pasta salad to baked cod. You can view their menu to see all that’s available — too much to list. All of it is fresh and tasted homemade, full of elevated flavors. Really, really nice — in my hometown of Memphis such Sunday Brunches run close to $ 40.
The ambiance is really nice, I felt bad that my son at 8 months old was being very talkative and was worried he disturbed other guests… if we ever visit again I will want to go back here and will arrange childcare next go round. The service was excellent, our coffee and water cups stayed full and clean plates removed with a smile.
This place was amazing and from our experience we can see why they are award winning!

I went to Bravo based on the Unilocal reviews and I was not disappointed. It’s a great restaurant that you can easily dress business casual to fancy. The wait staff was professional and courteous but still had a personality. Their wine list is extensive. I just wish they had more selections by the glass. I started with the Mushroom soup. The waiter said it is what they are known for. I have to say that this was the best mushroom soup I’ve ever had! It was creamy yet not overly heavy. The taste of mushroom permeated the soup and they were generous with the actual mushrooms. I had the sweet potato and goat cheese stuffed ravioli in a brown butter sauce. It was heaven in a pillow. The pine nuts sprinkled over the top added a great textural difference as well as a delicious flavor. The stuffing of sweet potato and goat cheese was delicate but stood on its own against the pasta and the brown butter. Trust me. You will be wishing you had saved a piece of bread to sop up the remaining sauce. I finished the night with the homemade rhubarb pie and a cup of coffee. This is a must to finish the meal. The rhubarb had just a slight tartness to it. The crust was flakey but held it all together. It comes warm wit a few dollops of whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had lately. What a gem for Kalamazoo.

Tried it out when Latitude 42 was to busy tonight. We were a little dressed down to go here but went anyway. I ordered the Bravo IPA and was served. .. something. They served a cloudy IPA (think Yoo-​hoo cloudy — seriously!). Still not sure what they actually served. It had a nice hoppy aroma and flavor, but was cloudy and had banana and clove tones like a Belgian Wheat. It was actually quite good despite the obvious flaws and mistakes in brewing and serving.
My wife ordered the lasagna and like it a lot. I got an individual pizza and it was great. My son got chicken strips.
All in all, it was very good and we might go back. The beer thing was disappointing, but who knew that a chocolate milk looking beer could be decent. If the restaurant is going to brew its own beer, some quality control needs to be implemented.

This place is inauspiciously located across from the airport, but it makes a very nice impression to a visitor such as myself. They have a wood burning oven and a separate fireplace, which is awfully nice, and it’s certainly an adult atmosphere. Even on a midweek night, they were doing good business, and despite the staff being engaging and thorough, they were struggling to keep up, and I waited quite a while for my check. It isn’t a fast kind of place though, so I’m being generous with the rating.
The menu is (not surprisingly, for an Italian place) of the sort where one must draw a sharp distinction between being vegetarian friendly (which it is, with pizzas, pasta, and a few soups with their stock clearly noted as such) and friendly to anyone looking to avoid dairy (which it is not). Luckily for me, I’m in the former category, and their house special pizza was pretty special as they go. I’d never had a morel mushroom before, but this pizza presenting a pretty convincing argument for eating more of them. The free bread with butter and cheese was also top notch, if redundant. Speaking as a Washingtonian, if you’d presented this meal to me and told me I was in some Georgetown establishment full of the local bourgeoisie, I would have believed you.
Certainly a place I’d be happy to return to with company if I was ever in town again.

My grandfather-​in-​law booked this place for a day before my wedding dinner just about a year ago in the Allegro Room. We had the $ 34 prix fixe menu and the food was delicious as well as the service was good
