We are Ballet Kalamazoo!

Ballet Kalamazoo focuses on teaching a high standard of ballet technique using American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum combined with the syllabus from Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Teacher Training Intensive.

At Ballet Kalamazoo, you will find a dance studio filled with kind, friendly and welcoming dancers and families. Together, we create a positive, fun and healthy atmosphere to learn dance. Ballet Kalamazoo’s goal is to mentor young people of all ages to be beautiful dancers who are grounded with solid values and personal integrity.

Through our commitment to family-​friendly programming, age appropriate costumes, and music, we provide an environment that will inspire and empower, leading to the consistent achievement of goals.

Meet the Business Owner

Amy R.

Business Owner

Amy Russell is from Paw Paw, Michigan. She started dancing at the age of 4, the beginning a life-​long love of dance. This passion has driven her to recognition as a prima ballerina for a semi-​professional company. There, she partnered and collaborated with professional artists from the Grand Rapids Ballet Company and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

Amy’s goal to present new art to the Kalamazoo community has been realized through her numerous and varied connections in the arts community. Amy was a partner in the ballet company Leap of Grace Ballet for three years and, through that experience, her love of teaching blossomed and grew.

Amy is committed to continuing education and preserving the high standard of technique required as a ballet teacher and dancer. Amy Russell is an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-​Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum.
