I am currently on vacation in kaui and am fanatical about getting my haircut weekly and since I was going to be in hawaii for 12 days, after a week I needed to find a place for a fresh cut. I am always extremely nervous about having anyone other than my barber cut my hair, which is a high and right fade, mainly for fear of horrible lines from a poor blend. I Unilocaled local barber shops on kaui and elements salon came up with very high ratings. I called and was fortunate they could squeeze me in a day later. I was originally supposed to have a cut with Owen but after describing what my style was, he was honest and said Ian would be better suited.
Ian knew exactly what I was looking to have done and gave me probably the best fade I’ve ever had. More than likely better than my own barber at home (don’t tell him). He also used the straight blade for a precise edge up and the fade overall was perfect. Not a single line! The entire staff were extremely friendly and personable to talk to and I highly recommend this salon to anyone needing a cut in Kauai. I know when I return in the future, whenever that may be, if I needed a cut, im coming to elements!

Loved the layers Brittany cut into my hair. I was visiting the island and in dire need of a cut. I had been going to the same hairdresser for years but after a recent move I have been bouncing around. I am so happy I went out on a limb and tried this casual, comfortable salon.

I chose Owen based on reviews and a friend. I can say that I FINALLY found the one person who can cut my hair right. I went in with pictures on how I would want my hair color and cut. He gave me suggestions based on my tan and looks. I had no idea what the outcome was going to be but I had to put my trust in him.
After all the foil gone and hair dried I was SOOOO happy with the color and hair cut! I will go back again!

Owen is amazing! I have been to see Owen twice and both times I left the salon very excited about the haircut and color he gave me. I’m still getting compliments three weeks after my visit with him.

I’ve been going to Britney for about 8 years now and she has never failed to do an awesome job especially when it comes to Color!!! Their prices here are pretty reasonable and they just do an amazing job. If you cant get an apt. with her ask for Owen who also does a great job especially on Women’s hair.

After reading the reviews in Unilocal,I decided to give this salon, and specifically Owen, a try. This decision was not made lightly. I had been with the same hairdresser for many years on the mainland but she had retired and I wasn’t looking forward to finding a replacement. Owen surpassed my expectations. He was able to give me highlights that look natural and blend with my previous highlights, natural color and grey areas. He knows hair and he knows color. He didn’t try to sell me on things that I don’t need. In addition, he is very personable, loves the island, and made the experience fun.

I always enjoy going to Element because they always make me feel so comfortable. Owen always cuts my hair just the way I like it, and always makes it look nice. :)

I have had 2 haircuts and a color by Owen in the past 2 months. I live on the mainland but spend several months on Kauai each year. I have tried 6 other local hairdressers but none left me impressed.
Owen talked with me about color and suggested a bit of a change. He also spent time «getting to know» my hair and how it lays etc. I am VERY happy with his work. I have had several people stop and mention how they like my hair. It’s easy for me to style and I feel enthused about the change!

I was looking to get my haircut and some highlights (a little Kauai souvenir) and I saw the previous review for Owen so I booked an appointment and he got me in right away. The previous reviewer was right, he is a perfectionist, which is exactly what I want when I am trusting a guy with something so visible as my hair when I have a job interview the day I get back. He worked hard and did better than my hairstylist back in CA and charged about 40.00 less. He was friendly, attentive, and just a nice guy. When I come back to Kauai, I will book another visit before I get here. Thanks Owen!

This review is for my hair dresser Owen. He’s a perfectionist and fair in price too. I loved him so much that I turned my mom and one of my best friends into his loyal clients. My friend lives in Vegas but when she comes to Kauai to visit three times a year she makes sure to get her hair done by Owen. They also do skin care and massage, a few years ago before my wedding, I was treated to a facial and massage there, awesome.
