Poke counter FTW. I am so happy that Tamura’s is now in Aikahi. It’s a so convenient when I need to pick up a bottle of wine and some pupu.

I’ve tried over & over again to like Tamura’s! While they have an amazing selection of wines, spirits and great poke… their repeatedly rude customer service is not worth my time, effort or my money! This is true of both their locations on Oahu! Apparently they are in the belief they’re the only ones in town… but they’re sorely mistaken!

When: Saturday April 30, 2016 Drove here, with wife from Aiea to pick-up a six-pack of New Belgium Heavy Melon and to just spend day on the windward side of the island… It was our first time here at this locale, and was really impressed with the spaciousness, plenty of parking, and prompt service. I really like the spacious aisles and large variety of craft beers…

Great Poke at the Deli and you can get all the liquor you need to make whatever drink you fancy. On my most recent visit, Bloody Mary’s were the preferred drink and we were able to get Tito’s vodka here and then walked over to safeway where we got some other essentials. Would recommend Tamura’s for the Poke, however.

Best poke in Luani. Decided I’d asked locals what to try around here and sure enough this place, hands down has the best poke. I recommend the spicy poke! Upon my arrival I noticed it was gone, if it is don’t worry the staff is quick to replenish.

Fantastic Poke, the fish is fresh and the dressings are not too heavy. I also have to second the Smoked Ahi Dip, it is addictive. If you want a true local experience pop in here on your way to the beach, grab some Poke Bowls, some green bottles(Heineken or Steinlager), hit the surf, kick back and enjoy.

Amazing Poke, best on the island by far. Great selection of craft beers too. Only thing hurting this place are the employees in the back, they’re not very polite and actually seem bothered when you want to buy a poke bowl.

The man working the fish counter was so grouchy! We went in on Monday 12÷14÷15 looking for spicy ahi. He graciously offered the guy in front to us some fresh Spicy ahi since he was just making it. When we ordered a half pound, he gave us the old spicy ahi that was barely .4lbs. I went back to get more and he had just finished telling a lady customer that they were out of spicy ahi. Selective service, you think? Also bought a pound if Lomi salad that was rancid. Had to throw it out.

The absolute BEST poke on this Island, no joke. I drive for an hour just to get it. The alcohol selection is freakin awesome, as to be expected, but the effin poke man!

Great place. Super fresh ahi poke. Tried the shoyu and spicy. The best shoyu poke I’ve ever had. Very good liquor selection and decent prices. Very good smoked ahi dip as well.

Ok, some things to know. 1. This is an adult candy store on steroids. I have to carve out at least 30 minutes every time I walk in. Plan accordingly. You will have long talks with employees and other customers about booze and how great this place is. You will blissfully stroll the aisles as if you’ve found some Booze Nirvana. 2. Every store clerk/manager knows their booze, all of it. Need wine recommendations? They’ll steer you right. Bourbon recommendations, you won’t be disappointed. Beer-Food pairings? You get the point. 3. Don’t see something you want? They’ll order it for you. Though a good rule to live by is «If Tamura’s doesn’t have it on their shelf, you probably don’t want to drink it.» 4. Buy their Poke, specifically their wasabi poke, one hyphenated word to describe it: Un-Real. 5. Their prices are the most competitive on the island.

our first time trying the poke from here on our visit. we had the ninja poke bowl and it was literally !!! the poke was super fresh and sauce was soooo ONO! we took our poke bowls to Lanikai, and i savored every piece with my feet in the warm sand and watching the calming waves! we will most definitely be back for more. YUMMM. i was so happy to find the kaua’i koloa rum punch here since its conveniently also a liquor store. ;) Yay!

Everyone knows this place is great! The freshest poke I’ve eaten on the island and you can get drinks to have with it while you pick-up your dinner. The fish is so FRESH! Our favorite dishes include… cucumber kim chee(to eat in between poke) spicy poke ahi limu and the one with corned beef Beyond poke, they have a great beer, wine, and liquor selection. And, they have the best selection of drink mixers on the island too!

I usually go to Tamura’s in Kaimuki or in Aiea, but since I was in the neighborhood for lunch, I stopped in to see if they had a new craft beer, and sure enough to my luck I grabbed the last of it. I am usually able to find what I am looking for and if I’m not, the staff is friendly and helpful to help me find what I want. They have the largest selection of liquor you can want on the island. Because we are Hawaii and there’s politics to distributors, some may not be found. But Tamura’s is usually my go-to for craft beers for the most reasonable price on the island. And they have good poke!

Location: Aikahi Shopping Center, between Safeway and Willow Tree Parking: Ample parking Service: very knowledgeable in wine varietals and vintages, food pairings, poke selections, and local grindz. Friendly, excellent customer service and well staffed. This is always the go to place for fresh poke, never frozen, spicy, limu, shoyu, and of course the award winning Tamuras special. Current price: $ 14.99/lb. The seafood section is also equipped with poke bowls, ika, raw crab(white, kimchee), soy beans, opihi, shrimp, tako, pipikaula, and all trypes of clams. The wine selection is extensive, housing all your favorite varietals and a hefty range of vintages. Price points are very affordable and their stock is always replenished. Whether it’s a smooth Pinot from Napa, a classic Moscato from Italy, or a nice imported beer from Belgium, Tamura’s has it all.

TAMURA’S SPECIAL Ahi Poke is always delicious. They have many other flavors too(shoyu, spicy, tako, top shell…) and poke bowls too. Always fresh. Usually around $ 17/lb. Grab a drink, complementary untensils & napkins, and head off to a nice picnic. Easy parking in front parking lot.
