Kevin now serves his amazing grinds at Morning Brew Kailua Weds to Saturday… they serve wine and beer as well.

Stopped by here the other day for a late lunch with a couple of my coworkers. Sadly, they were sold out of briskets. I got lucky though. There was just enough pulled pork do a half and half of BBQ chicken and BBQ pulled pork. Stuff was good. My coworkers got jambalaya, which was also quite delicious. One nice thing about us showing up late was that we got to sit around with Kevin for a while. Quite the story he has. He once ran a skate park up on the mainland, lived with some vegans for a year which led him to changing his diet and his menu(note the brown rice, he also only serves bottled water). Missed out on his other specials, but he says his ribs sell out real quick. And on a side note, he also does catering. Definitely worth checking out if you’re on the windward side.

Kevin Two Boots and his famous Jambalaya is back in Kailua! I spotted his food truck on Uluniu Street in the parking lot next to Walgreens(directly across from the Makai Animal Clinic). Chef Kevin Tate said he just started again in this location, and plans to be there: Monday-Friday, from 11 – 2:30 If you’re pressed for time you can call him and order ahead @ 387‑0152. I tried the Jambalaya which comes with corn bread and a choice of sweet tea or water. I can’t wait to try the brisket and pulled pork. Prices are reasonable. The Jambalaya was $ 8.50. It was perfect with just enough heat. He also had other offerings, and will be adding his catering menu soon. 31 Unilocal Challenge: #19/31 :)
