Look for the green house the signs say, as you white knuckle the dashboard of your car on the single lane no guard rail«straight down» if error to be made. But with that said well worth it, walnut bananna bread fresh out of oven and roasted coconut strips equally as good. Watch out for crocodile though.

huh?!? how is this 5-stars… owners great and the view from the backyard is pretty sweet, but the shave ice is sub-par compared to Ululani’s. just being real — and not hating on the place. definitely still stop by if you’re craving some shaved ice out on this side of the island — but not worth it to drive out specifically for this spot(i honestly don’t think it is worthwhile to drive out to julianna’s and lorraine’s… food/dessert really much better downtown…)

Lorraine was so unbelievably giving and sweet. Offered water to us cyclists for FREE immediately. Her prices on food is so low I really think she should charge more because she is amazing and so is her bread. I regret not tipping as i forgot to when we left :(thank you SOMUCH Lorraine we love you!

This is a must stop for those of you visiting Maui. We were there 10÷29÷15 around 4ish. We were the only ones there and Lorraine showed us around and made a special shave ice for me. She is really funny and genuine. A real magical piece of Maui when you spend about 30 minutes there. It’s all about the banana bread and shave Ice. BTW she gets the banana’s from her yard.

Lorraine is a hater. It was the most bizarre experience. As we pulled up into this small town after a long windy road. We come across a beautiful little girl with a basket of banana and mango bread. So we buy both of them and we ask the little girl if there is a restroom nearby. She points us in the direction of Lorraine’s business. Not knowing that we were about to make the biggest mistake in the world. My wife gets out of the car and see Lorraine and her husband at a table. Neither of them look happy. She asks about a restroom and Lorraine goes ballistic. Apparently we purchased from her competition and she’s furious. She basically in not a very polite way tells us that there is no restroom for us to use. The whole experience was just down right weird and felt like a bad episode of the Twilight Zone… you could almost hear banjoes playing in the background… WARNINGSTAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE — this lady is a hater !!

Do not miss this stop on the west side! Auntie Lorraine is so sweet and makes the best pies! You can call her a few days ahead if you would like to ask her to make a specific kind for you. I’ve heard the coconut cream pie is to die for. I had the banana cream and it was incredible!

Lorraine was super delightful and funny. Gave us a hug on the way out. She really made us feel welcome and at home. You are hurting yourself by not getting the banana cream pie. Definitely worth the drive.

Lorraine and her hubby are the most welcoming. This drive is worth the views and you must try her shaved ice, the best on the island. Best enjoyed in their backyard paradise. Take some delicious banana bread with you, I’d advise you come early as it is hot and get two as on the drive back it disappears, unless you get the«edible bark», then you eat that«crack» and the banana bread will make it home. So special!!!

The owner Loraine is a very cool lady. Her wood chips and banana bread are pretty good. As for the shaved ice, not bad but nothing special. The drive getting here was very tricky and nerve wrecking but I guess more memorable bc of it.

Great place to stop while traveling in north Maui. We had the shaved ice, pineapple and the banana bread ice cream sandwich. Loraine is a kind and warm host.

What a pleasant surprise this place was! The shave ice is amazing, and the banana bread is delicious. But that’s not what makes this place so great. We walked in to Lorraine’s shop area, and the first thing we saw was WWE on the television. That alone tipped me off that this place must be the best. We got the shave ice(get the ice cream with it) and each got a loaf of right-out-of-the-oven banana bread and went into Lorraine’s back yard to relax and eat it, and Lorraine came back and sat with us! She’s the nicest person ever! She told us Island stories, and when she asked where we were from(Seattle), she was just as happy to hear of ours. We bonded over Pike Place Market and all the fun stuff there is to do in Seattle(she and her husband had been there a few years before and had loved it). When we left, as we were walking back through the store area, her husband had settled down to watch the wrestling on TV. I gave him props for his choice of viewing and he gave me a fist pump in return. We all got a laugh out of that. Be prepared for the windy, VERY narrow road along the way. Give yourself plenty of time, and stop along the way and discover some new adventures.

Definitely worth the drive. As everybody else has said, the real magic about this place is Lorraine. Her banana bread and shave ice are great but it was the inviting, informative, and funny nature of Lorraine herself that makes this place worth the trip. If you can’t decide what flavors to get for your shave ice, ask for the Lorraine special and she’ll whip up one of her favorite combinations. Also, get it with the ice cream, it’s way better.

Not sure why, but banana nut bread just tastes better from the north side. But I DOKNOW, Auntie Lorraine’s tastes incredible because of the love she puts into it. You’re not just a customer, you’re practically family.

Sorry Lorraine, but not worth it for that crazy drive. Uluhani’s is waayy better(and accessible). We were passing through all the way from the east to the west side on a wet day. If anything… I suggest going there from the west to east side. that way u only have to deal with about 1.5 miles of dangerously narrow roads. Also want to mention that coming from So Cal where there is an abundance of shaved ice spots. this paled in comparision. Good news is… it’s super close to Julias banana bread stand which we thought was absolutely worth the crazy drive! :)

Another adventure in Maui(like the road to Hana) to visit this gem. Auntie Lorriane’s shaved ice and banana cream pie await you. Her shaved ice is so fine it melts in your mouth. You can have ice cream with your shaved ice. Lorriane and Guy are very friend and show true aloha spirit. She will even show you were the alligator and the gorilla sit on the far off hill. The drive can be troublesome as its a one lane road that you need to share with on coming traffic. The locals tend to go fast(as their used to the roads), proceed with caution. There are blind and hair pinned turned. There are moments while you’re driving were you will feel like you’re on an indian jones — driving straight into rocks. Looking forward to my next visit to maui.

Best slice of pie in MAUI! It’s not the easiest ride there… But worth the challenge! Heading north from Lahaina you will reach Mile Marker 42… Next marker is 14… yes something about county’s I think… Lorraine’s is 2 miles down very windy single lane road! USEYOURHORN

Had a craving for shave-ice and decided to make the trek and try Lorraine’s shave-ice. Yes, it will take you awhile and the road winds around for what may seem like a long time. You have to maneuver a one-lane road, but meeting Lorraine and enjoying the Lorraine Special was delicious. It hit the spot after that long trek. Lorraine is such a sweet lady. She’s very personable and truly enjoys what she does. It was a pleasure meeting her. Unfortunately, she ran out of banana bread, so that will have to wait till another trip.
