Description

Specialties

A broad range of gifts, home décor, and accessories. Polish Pottery, Vera Bradley, Jim Shore, Willow Tree, San Diego Hat Co., rustic toys, children’s books and much, much more.

We are currently working towards an emphasis on locally made home décor, ironware, and woodwork.

History

Established in 1976.

The front portion of the Warm Hearth building was constructed in 1913. It served as Julian Feed and Supply for some time before the current owners bought it. With the addition of the warehouse it became Julian Lumber in 1978. As tourism in Julian increased, the store transitioned from hardware and lumber to wood burning stoves and giftware. The name was changed to The Warm Hearth and the business became what it is today. We are currently phasing out stove sales and moving towards in house production of home furnishings and décor as well as providing retail space for local artisans.

Meet the Manager

Chris S.

Manager

Chris Stamets is the son of the original owner and proprietor, Eric Stamets. He has run the store since graduating from UCSD in 2009 and is first and foremost working towards bringing Julian visitors an enjoyable shopping experience. His other aspirations for the business include production and sales of locally made items and providing open to public workspace for artisans.
