Love Chopmists. I don’t eat seafood, but their pasta and sandwiches are solid. We love the bar tenders and servers. We always go here and all the cousins, ranging from 30 to 14 are always happy. Good beer list.

Prices are way too high for what you get. This is our third time here not paying $ 25.00 for a lobster roll. Rhode island clam chowder was very salty husband had new England clam chowder and was not disappointed.

I’ve been here several times now. It’s safe to say I’m a fan. The seafood has always been fresh and hot and delicious. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. The prices are down to earth and it’s location is right in center of everything that is summer. There’s not much to dislike.

Stay away. This establishment is in a seaport town and they serve frozen food. Our calamari seemed more like cuddle fish because the rings were enormous and perfectly breaded like you see in frozen food, same with my son’s fish and chips. My chair was stuck to the floor! Literally stuck. The waitress was terrific and I have nothing bad to say about her. The food and atmosphere well below par and there are plenty of options. Buyer beware

Best clam chowder in RI! Good way to start the day. Creamy chowder and some mussels. Get a beer with it and it’s a good way to start a day off of work.

Spending a few days in Jamestown. From Unilocal reviews, Chopmist Charlie’s seemed to hit the mark on what we were looking for. No reservations but we were early and had no problems being seated right away. By the time we left however, 7:30, the place was packed, with a line. I can only attribute this situation to the fact that dining options here are limited. Shared calamari appetizer was almost assuredly frozen, then fried. My seafood casserole also seemed to be assembled from frozen ingredients. My friend’s baked stuffed shrimp was the best choice Server was great. Loved the atmosphere. But the food, meh.

It bills itself as the«Cheers of Jamestown» and it’s true! Everyone was friendly, the food was excellent, the portions were large. And everyone at the bar smiled and said bye to us when we left.

We haven’t visited in several years — and our last visit was just as enjoyable as our most recent visit! I enjoyed clam cakes & clam chowder and it was out of this world! The place looks great, the service was impeccable! A must visit for all! Great job!

Great fresh food for sure. It was great the last time we came but it was even better this time. Friendly service with daily specials to compliment a great menu to start with. Love it and will be back for sure.

Lobster bisque was excellent though their idea of a bowl is more a large cup. I went with whole fried belly clams and fried oysters, portions were good and the seafood was fresh. My wife choose the plank Salmon which she says was cooked to perfection.

Always consistently fresh food, good service, and a fun time — after many years of coming here, I’m finally writing a review. You can’t go wrong with any of the seafood, salads, or meat choices. Each dish is beautifully presented, prices are really good, and again, consistently fresh food. I live locally and this is our«go-to» restauant. I seem to order the steamers and salad quite often and am never disappointed!

Really great choice for seafood. My wife, toddler daughter, and I recently visited Jamestown for the weekend. We stopped by Chopmist Charlie’s on Saturday night for dinner. My wife had a bowl of the lobster bisque and I had a bowl of clam chowder and both of them were close to, if not actually, the best of each we’ve ever had. As to our meals, my wife had the fish and chips and I had the seafood au gratin. The fish(scrod) was perfectly breaded and cooked and the chips were delightfully crispy and a real hit with our daughter. The seafood au gratin had a couple of large lobster claws, ocean scallops, and shrimp, smothered in a light cheese sauce and perfectly tender, not overcooked at all. Absolutely delicious. We didn’t have room for dessert unfortunately. If we return to Jamestown in the future, we’ll definitely stop by again, if only to get some more of that soup.

Highest recommendations. One of the best lobster rolls on the east coast. Stuffed full and fresh. Tried both the Chowder and the Bisque, the Chowder is good Bisque is better. The service was fine and friendly. I haven’t had anything but the lobsta roll but I saw some of the other dishes come out and they looked great.

If you are looking for a casual small seafood place, this is it. Nothing to fancy but very clean and the staff was great. Our waitress was friendly and helped us before we asked. She was awesome with our kids. The food came out very hot and fresh. My wife got the salmon BLT. It was ok, the salmon didn’t have much flavor on its own. The french fries was the best. Crisp and very tasty. I asked for a bloody Mary, it was great but a little pricey @ $ 7.50. Maybe $ 5.00 seems better.

Lobster Alfredo. Lobster Alfredo. Lobster Alfredo. My family walked to this place for dinner while visiting a friend in downtown Jamestown at her recommendation and we were not disappointed. We were seated immediately(off season Friday night) and ordered our drinks which came promptly. The menu is a bit overwhelming, but we all ended up with great food. The calamari appetizer was amazing, but of our 4 entrees the LOBSTERALFREDO took the cake. I hesitated to order it because it sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen, but as it was a vacation, I went for it. And boy was everybody at the table glad I did. The portions are ridiculously enormous to begin with, but in the entrée that I expected a few pieces of lobster, I found enough meat to fill me even without eating the pasta part of it. I go to Maine every summer, my family is full of lobster-lovers — I know lobster. And what they served me must have been all the meat from 2 pretty huge lobsters. Insane. Also worth mentioning is their drink that’s half Angry Orchard cider and half ginger beer — what a treat. The place isn’t cheap, we dropped $ 200 between 4 of us, but we all got seafood and drinks so that’s what happens.

Super local bar and restaurant, giant marlins on the wall, standard beers on tap. My girlfriend and I came here to go to the Jamestown Arts Center around the corner. We got stuffies, which are large clams filled with stuffing, pretty good. When we sat down the waiter told us they had a couple of fresh catches: a large blue fin tuna a customer had caught nearby, and another type of fish a kid was spearfishing. It’s that kind of place. I got the fresh tuna in a Jamaican jerk spice rub, and she went with the shrimp scampi. The tuna was awesome, well spiced, delicious, and fresh. The scampi was pretty good, the noodles handmade, the shrimp fresh, but the sauce was a bit too citrus-y. I’d say this place is more of a 3.5 stars place, but it was exactly what were looking for– delicious fresh fish in Jamestown.

This is the bomb! Seafood is always freah. Pasta hand made. We always start with Zeek’s Creamy lobster bisque and NE chowder, always a winner. Now on to dinner. I had Calamari Fra Diablo, I’m sorry to say it wasn’t my favorite meal here, my husband had Scallops Florentine, and his pasta was to al dente! This Wil be the first time I haven’t taken my leftover home. This won’t stop us from coming back, just won’t order those two items a again.
