Very helpful and also reasonably priced. Had two of my business vans break down same day and they were quick and easy to deal with.
No one likes having to call a tow company, but they will definitely be my go to tow service. Highly recommend!

I got towed! My fault, stupid mistake. Very friendly people helped me get my car back in a timely manner. Bill was very pleasant in a not so pleasant business!

Stanley shows the WORST form of customer service EVER. I get it. You are miserable about your business but no need to take it out on me. Back in April, I was not only towed but my car door handle had been damaged and he NEVER called to let me know of the incident, until I inquired about the damages since I knew it was not due any of my own faults. He told me that he ‘thought’ someone told me, but his actions showed otherwise. After much push and pull he finally had my car door handle fixed. Even after I asked for the receipt he did not give me anything.

It is not their fault that I ended up getting towed thanks to Street Cleaning. However, if I had to get towed, I would want it to be by them. They were really nice to me and made me feel like everything was going to be okay. Also, since the car is getting towed, it’s great that they are T-​accessible on the orange line!

My car got towed from my own reserved spot due to a ridiculous property owner, but Stanley’s was always upfront about the costs and honest about the procedures. They gave me all the information I needed immediately and were generally helpful. When I went in to pick it up the folks in the office were nice and sympathetic. They also helped to show me how to unlock my steering wheel, which I wasn’t aware of, without any condescension. About as good an experience as could be expected considering the circumstances.

Avoid this place at all costs! After seeing some of the other people’s reviews on this place, I cannot believe that they have a courteous or professional bone in their body. I am one of the few people who probably chose to interact with this place when my car broke down at the JP Stop & Shop. Unfortunately Stanleys happened to be the closest place nearby so they came and hitched me up and took me to the closest garage.
Upon arrival, it was clearly evident that my bumper was dislodged AND there were a few scratches that weren’t there before good ol Stan deemed it necessary. The driver was incredulous and told me to speak with the owner. The owner was unbelievably unprofessional immediately getting defensive, and then asking me if I had any pictures or «proof» of the car before it got towed. He then made a reference to me not being able to prove anything in court and told me wasn’t his problem.
Honestly cant believe scumbags like this get to be in business.

I have a very steep driveway that’s daunting even in daytime but dangerous at night if things go wrong. A friend was backing out a few nights ago and cut the wheels too soon. The car ended up comically stuck on some rocks and we found ourselves in need of a tow truck service.
I called Stanley’s and explained the situation. He said there was one person in the queue before us and that it would be 30 – 40 minutes before he arrived. We weren’t going anywhere so we agreed to have him come out and take a look at the car and we went back inside.
30 minutes later the driver pulls up, calls my phone to say he’s here, and we all go out to inspect the situation. He was very thorough, taking pictures of the car from all over, using a flash light to look at it from every angle, and then explaining what he would try to do before before giving us a quote of $ 125 to free the car.
We agreed to the terms and the driver backed the wrecker into place and got to work. Work is the wrong word. It was more like art with the attention he paid to every detail, how he gently freed the car, made sure no rocks pierced the oil pan, turned the car’s wheels several times to adjust the angle of attack, and he even made sure that the landscaping was mostly undamaged.
In about 20 minutes the car was free, we paid the quoted price (really appreciate him quoting a price and sticking to it), got a receipt, and he gave us advice on the only piece of damage to the car: a loose piece of trim. «Two clips broke. Take it to any auto/​body shop and don’t let them charge you for a new piece. Shouldn’t be more than $ 5.»
If I ever need a tow service again, I’ll be sure to call Stanley Service.

I forgot to move my car on a street cleaning day and my car was towed. I might have been lucky to have it towed by Stanley’s.
I called them to find out the process. The guy on the phone was nice and to the point:
— it’s gonna cost you this much.
— it’s gonna cost you this much more per day you leave it here.
— this is how you can pay us.
— here is the address you’re gonna pick up your car at (by the way, a short walk from the Green Street T station).
Before I even had a chance to whine about not being able to pick it up today and blah blah blah, he informed me they are open 24 hours.
I finally showed up around 9:30pm and sure enough, someone was there. He actually greeted me with a friendly voice and a smile. And before I was out of there a few minutes later, he’d even told me a funny story.
I had my car towed. It’s my fault, not theirs. And Stanley’s actually managed to make getting towed as pleasant of a process it could possibly be.
If I am ever actually looking to have my car towed, I’ll definitely call Stanley’s.

I was towed from Park St in Boston, Ma on 6÷19÷12 for street cleaning. My car was towed from the street at 1215pm. I discovered the car had been towed at 1230pm and promptly called Stanley Service to find out the location of my car. At 1250pm, I arrived to Stanley Service Towing Company to retrieve my car. The car had literally just been placed in the lot because the bill for the tow had not been filled out yet. I was expecting a $ 90 tow fee and a $ 30 ticket on my windshield. I was surprised to see that a $ 7 gas fee and a $ 35 dollar storage fee were added to my bill. When I asked the clerk what the charges were about he said «You get charged a storage fee as soon as the car hits the lot». I asked him what the tow fee was for then if it didn’t cover 30 minutes worth of storage and 3 miles worth of gas (I was charged $ 7 dollars for gas). He didn’t have an answer. I believe this company is running a scam. I asked for information about their towing policies and they were unable to provide them for me. How can a Tow Truck company charge fees on top of fees? I believe they are double dipping and this practice should be stopped and made public. I do not mind paying a $ 90 tow fee because I made a mistake and parked during street cleaning. What I want is an itemized bill for what services were covered by the $ 90 fee. I want an explanation as to why it is OK to charge $ 90 for a tow plus $ 35 for 30 minutes of storage and an additional $ 7 dollars for gas

who likes a tow service? no one, right. So why did i give this place 5 stars? Because, even tho my car got towed, it wasn’t their fault.
And for what it’s worth, sound’s like they treat everyone the same, cause i couldn’t get a discount, even though i was handicapped. for the record, they didn’t damage my car or steal anything. The staff was pleasant and sympathetic. what more can you want.

This past summer, I failed to notice a no-​parking street-​sweeping sign in Back Bay. In cooperation with the City of Boston’s Parking Enforcement Officers, Stanley Service kindly towed my car to its lot in Jamaica Plain and stored it securely until I got there two hours later.
I’m thankful the ticket was only a $ 40 fine, and that I had to shell out only $ 15 for a cab after I found taking the bus to Stanley’s convenient location impossible.
Stanley charged me a mere $ 90 for the tow (for 20 min. negotiating from BB to JP – so $ 270/​hr for highly skilled labor) and $ 35 for storage for «1 day» (that is, 120 min.). Along with the other fees, the total came to a mere $ 134 to release my car to me. How kind!
At least they didn’t take my GPS (+1 star).
But then that kind of theft would be illegal.

It’s funny that we are even writing these reviews since it’s not like a towing service will change anything about how it operates according to customer feedback. But in the process of warning others here is a little on my recent experience about Stanley’s:
After having an initial conversation about picking up my car and receiving a rude reception I decided to pick up flowers for the receptionist thinking they must get many angry calls every day and are not treated very well. While I believe the flowers were appreciated, the receptionist sadly told me that she actually gets off on how angry people get and their frustration with being towed. This was a very sad experience as I think no matter where you work, you need to treat people like normal human beings and there is something very wrong here.
I called to ask about the small fuel surcharge of $ 3.50, which while not a lot, added insult to injury as I had already paid $ 110 to be towed 0.4 miles for a $ 40 street cleaning violation. They said the rate is calculated as a percentage of the overall tow expense, rather than how much fuel they actually use — this does not seem like a fair policy. They then rudely told me that they customers waiting and hung up on (even though I was polite the whole time).

No one loves visiting a tow yard, but these guys were pretty great. After my car accident, when I had forgotten to remove the plates from my totaled car before the insurance company took it away (sniff), they grabbed them for me. And when I tried to tip them for it, they waved me away. Nice guys.

And they are ok, apparently if you haven’t been towed for Street Cleaning violations.
They’ve towed my poor car 3 or 4 times now and have always been very prompt, and relatively courteous. There was the one time that one driver forgot to give me back my debit card which was annoying when I realized I didn’t have it. But it happens.
Yeah. I haven’t had any problems with them accept that one time, but I could have realized I didn’t’ have my card too. 555 555 555 555 556

«I have recently hired an electrician to improve the lighting at our office. (11÷11÷08) I have also applied (permits from the City of Boston) to have lights installed in our second lot.Thanks.»

As much as I want to give this place 1 star for towing my effing car I just can’t do it :(It was not their fault that I’m apparently dyslexic and parked on the wrong side for street cleaning which caused the BPD to ticket me and call this lovely company to move my vehicle out of the way.
However, it might be a little bit their fault that I was not contacted at all and had to not only pay the towing fee (which is fine — it was my B) but a 2 day holding fee when I finally realized that it was MIA!!! Are you kidding me? It’s not like I ASKED for my car to be held across town. The whole holding fee deal has never made sense to me. Luckily they’re open 24 hours so I didn’t have to wait and get charged for another whole day.
The woman working was very nice which is understandable… I’d be cheery too if my job was just to sit behind a desk and collect money from poor, innocent, hardworking girls with tear filled eyes. ANYWAY! Like all tow places they don’t take personal checks but they DO take credit/​debit which I’ve never heard of before and was relieved that I didn’t have to go search for an ATM.
*** As a side note I’d just like to send a special thank you to Jeffrey H for coming to pick me up so I didn’t have to hoof it through the ghetto, aka my neighborhood, at 9 pm in the rain. (Even though I’m sure I would have been fine b/​c technically I wouldn’t be asking to get raped until after 11)

I had seen negative reviews for Stanley’s Towing online and so I had tried to arrange long distance towing with other companies, but none of them could meet me within the next 2 hours. So I ended up calling Stanley’s to tow my car. They quoted me with a fair quote compared to competitor companies and towed my car to my destination without any issues.
I found the guys to be friendly and helpful. They gave me advice on my car (its a restoration project) and where I could look for services that I may need for my project in the future.

Oh how I dislike you.
So my car was stolen and later parked in a street cleaning area and was towed by Stanley’s. They inform the police three days later, who then call me. So when I go to pick up my car not only do I have to pay the towing fee which I am ok with, but I have to pay for three days of storage. Ok the towing at least is a service, but it costs them nothing to have my car sitting in their lot. And they waited three days to report it. I was extra mad since my car is not worth the money is costs to recover. I have since donated it.
Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the ones that stole it, they do tow from the area it was stolen from. It would be a great business plan for them.
