I typically love this place. It’s my neighborhood go-to, mostly because its a 30 second walk from my apartment, the staff is friendly and they have a wide selection of beers and wine. I’ve been coming here for years and my only problem with them happened last week, and I was quite disappointed. I bought a bottle of wine that I frequently buy($ 10, nothing extravagant) and it was sour! We poured two glasses of wine to have with dinner and quickly realized something was wrong with it. We brought it right back(foolishly!) thinking we could exchange it or get a refund but they would have none of it. They basically said«not our problem» and sent us on our way. Sad face.

It sounds like I have had the same experience as most people that have posted on Unilocal already. This is your basic liquor store and will get you what you need for the night/week. The selection is okay… but not fantastic. The prices are okay… but not fantastic. the customer service is okay… but not fantastic. You get the idea! It is super convenient though and open until 11:00pm nightly. Overall.this place is okay if your just looking for the basics :)

This is one of the only liquor stores in the immediate area. Next closest is down by Stony Brook T stop or Blanchards further down Centre. This store is open late, carries all the basics, and prices are neither cheap nor expensive. If you’re looking for any specialty beers/etc, or want to have a conversation with an employee about wine suggestions(or anything at all…), then this isn’t the right place. This place is what it is – your basic local liquor store. It isn’t going to win any awards, but it is dependable and convenient.

Fine small liquor store. There’s nothing special that they carry and no great craft beer selection, but if you need that bottle of forgotten wine on your way to a dinner party in JP this place will do.

So this is the closest liquor store to my house, about a two minute walk, and for that I am grateful. The beer selection(really the only thing I care about) is not stellar, but fine. They typically have various six-packs and twelve-packs of your usual suspects of New England breweries as well as the standard national ones. And they stock the seasonal varieties of each(Blue Moon Winter Abbey Ale, so freaking good!). The prices are average to a smidge high. They only take returnables«in the mornings.» They overcharge dramatically for red plastic cups(Solo knockoffs, even!). But they’re close and open late and in my house running out of beer is a serious emergency, so they get lots of my business! Also, you can set your watch by the double-parked cars out front. Every weekend night. I guarantee it.

Great for last minute basics. Just don’t expect a blanchards. they are always WAY too unfriendly when I go in there… and I KNOW the people that work there… they come into my bar all the time. why so grim?

Surprisingly good selection for such a small store. Only really use it for 4 reasons: a) No advanced plan for drinking b) Too lazy to go to Blanchard’s and/or getting food at Food Wall c) Andre d) 10:40pm booze run Good, but can’t compare to Blanchard’s selection/prices, especially for a beer snob like myself.

I like this liquor store a LOT because they have like 6 different kinds of cider and also 6 different kinds of pork rinds. Conveniently located next to food wall for all your alcohol and greasy chinese food needs. Docked a star for sub-par bags(shall I say blocks) of ice and scratch tickets that I never, ever, ever win.
