The burger, fries and milkshakes remind me of Uvalde Malt N Burger. They slide out some yum yums.

I came here on a quest to find the greatest milkshake in houston, since one of my favorites, Uvalde Malt N Burger, closed down. I ordered a simple chocolate shake and it came out a few minutes later. The wife is the cashier and the husband makes the shakes. They only have 1 size. I asked what type of ice cream they use, but they wouldn’t tell me. I haven’t eaten any of the food here, but the chocolate shake I ordered tasted light, simple and easy to drink. It is not heavy at all on the chocolate taste and does not have any kind of chocolate syrup added. It wasn’t the best I’ve had, but if you’re in the area or looking to come to a nostalgic place, this would be a good example.

nothing to brag about, the food was hot but no seasoning on the fries or the meat patty

This old drive in from the 50’s is great. Got the cheeseburger combo with fries and a canned coke. Real meat here, no plastic junk like McDonalds under warming lights and burgers are cooked as you order. Sat on a picnic table and enjoyed the Spring day with my great lunch. Crisp lettuce, onions, pickles and tomatoes. Terrific fries. Check this piece of history out.

If you find yourself in Jacinto City, TX and you are looking for a good, quick lunch. Forget about McDonalds or the other run of the mill hamburger places. Stop by EJ’s! They serve up a great classic hamburger served with frys and a canned soda for less than $ 6.

I was excited to try the place. We love finding local hole in the wall places to eat. First there is no sign so I almost missed it. Then I ordered only to find out its CASHONLY. I don’t carry cash any more, so I didn’t get to try it. I was disappointed.

A couple of the reviewers mention that E.J.‘s has been serving burgers there from 30 to 37 years(the specifics in two reviews). Correction. I was enjoying Cokes, burgers and malts at E.J.‘s as early as 1965. That is pushing the establishment on toward fifty years in business — at the least. I don’t remember the Korean family, so the thirty year figures may refer to their ownership. However, it sounds like they have continued the fine tradition of great food and great service. So, take my five stars with a grain of salt. It has been forty-something years since I had a burger there but they were definitely a five-star burger dive then and, from the other reviews, they seem to have maintained the high level of product and quality.

I grew up eating burgers from this place. While several other burger places came and went, EJ’s stay strong! Over 30 years in business you would be hard pressed to find a better burger or better Malts & Shakes in the entire city! This place isn’t much to look at but the food is great! I absolutely love the Korean family who runs it.

If looking for a great home-made burger while in beautiful downtown Jacinto City, E. J.‘s has been here for 37 years, right next to the Jacinto City City Hall. Owned and operated by the same Korean family since the early ’70’s it’s a top burger just outside Houston. Well worth the drive from Houston. Only a few tables so if during lunch time be prepared to eat in your car under the old style drive-in canopy. Nice people, excellent burger.
