The food is tasty and cheap. I often go here for falafel or tofu platter. Other things are good too. I sometimes felt the issue of freshness of the lettuce, beans and salsa, but it has been good most of the times.

Slow and inconsistent service. It’s somehow half Mediterranean food now. The burritos get worse every time I go.

I don’t know if there’s new management or something, but this nice man gave my friend and me a free soda because we ordered chicken wings and he had to go run to the store because at that time they were out. His generosity and hospitality make me want to come here more.

Wouldn’t recommend delivery. Because warm burritos are fantastic. An adequate burrito I would say. Not awful. Didn’t make me want to immediately throw up. Chicken was a little off putting. Still chicken nonetheless. Chips were a little soft. Possibly from grease or just no fresh. Overall I’d say fairly average burrito place.

DONOTGONEAR! This is frankly the worst mexican food I’ve ever had. The rice was cold, burrito shell hard and cheese tasted old.

Ordered a burrito bowl. It was disgusting. The meat was oily and poorly cooked. Everything tasted like grease. Literally couldn’t finish it, took a few bites and had to stop as it was turning my stomach. :(Very sad. I love burritos.

This is an oddly joined business. Not just two restaurants under one roof, but you can order from either menu from the same guy! …Sarah’s Pita House…(and That Burrito Place) I was just in and ordered the Falafel and Baba ghanoush(bābā ghannūj,) platter. It was incredible! Really tasty food, you can select custom and oh boy was it great! The pitas at other places are often really crunchy hard and greasy, not here! Though apparently they offer Styrofoam containers for the platters and larger entrees, I asked nicely for other options, something low-impact like a paper plate. They had recyclable plastic clam-shells that worked well. Or bring your own container. Incredible food, great service. Thanks Sarah’s! Check them out!

That Burrito Place first opened while I was still in college(which I can’t believe was already about eight or nine years ago). In retrospect, with the benefit of having a law degree, I can’t believe Chipotle didn’t sue this place out of business. At the time, everything about this place was based on Chipotle’s model, including the signage inside. Chipotle is what it is today not only because it popularized the fast-food burrito, but because the quality of its ingredients. TBP can copy Chipotle all it wants, but its continued existence today can be attributed to only one reason: it is in Ithaca.

I’m writing this on 2÷16÷2014. I’m under the impression that ownership has changed hands multiple times — so the below reviews might not be applicable to the current establishment. This is my experience so far: — The owner(a Mediterranean-looking guy) is super friendly and nice — and he personally prepares your food, customizing it to your desire. I’m eating the fried fish burrito right now as I type — and it is delicious. I was so pleasantly so surprised that it tasted like actual authentic Mexican food that I decided to make a Unilocal account just to review it. The chicken burrito I had last week was also good. If I remember correctly, they are also serving Mediterranean food — giros, wraps, etc. Prices are fairly reasonable if you go with the daily specials/deals.

A year ago I might have given TBP3 stars since they USED to be a decent place to get a burrito that was a slightly downgraded version of Chipotle’s. At some point in the past year I’m assuming they underwent a major change(possibly ownership), which changed the staff and the quality of the food. The last time I went(and will ever go) I ordered a burrito bowl with stale rice and pretty tasteless additions. Further, the older gentleman behind the counter asked if I wanted weed or hash for my bowl. Funny I guess, but not a way to run a business…

I went in for lunch 45 minutes after their opening time on a weekday. A guy behind the counter explained that they didn’t have any food ready yet. It’s a bold concept for a restaurant, but I’m not just connecting with it.

Completely awful. Went there shortly after slope day unfriendly staff, over priced food, no AC inside. Over all had a grimy feel, go to Viva Taqueria or Chipotle.

I’m pretty sure I could find a tastier lunch rummaging through a local garbage can. If you have been to the chain Chipotle, this place is very similar in concept, but the flavors are just god awful. The pricing makes no sense, more money for a salad which has less items than the burrito or bowl. And ever since the change of ownership they have gotten worse. The lettuce is now wilted and many of the items taste old.

Don’t order, flat out. I placed an order using GrubHub(what their website redirects you to) at 8:30pm. It’s 10:15 and still no Nachos. I called them 3 times and they have failed to pick up each time. It goes to voicemail. This is horrible customer service that will put them out of business. Fortunately GrubHub refunded my order but next time, if you want food either call them and see if they decided to actually open up for business or not OR the do more preferable option and eat elsewhere. I don’t write reviews, never have, but this place boils my blood.

11:07am… That Burrito Place opens at 11. The door is unlocked, the lights are on… I walk in and approach an empty counter. After a few seconds, a confused looking woman comes out from the back, «we aren’t open yet.» Wow… really? Seven minutes after your sign says you’re open, with your door unlocked, and your lights on… «OK,» I reply, «do you mind if I just take a seat and wait?» «No, we can’t have customers in the store until we are open. It’ll be just another five or ten minutes.» Fantastic… Another Ithaca eatery permanently loses me as a customer before I’ve given them a penny. When they say«ten square miles surrounded by reality,» they must be referring to the attitude Ithacans seem to have to customer service.

Dear god, this place is nasty. EVERYTHING here tastes spoiled. Nothing tastes fresh. I mean seriously, your guac is always half brown meaning its been oxidized to shit. The carnitas tastes like rubber-band strings. And the rice is stale half of the time. This is a mockery of chipotle, the interior design was done to mimic chipotle clearly… but its an epic fail.

THAT Burrito Place. Too many corny jokes running through my head right now but I’ll refrain… The Grub – * THAT Burrito($ 6.99) — Carne Asada Venue Review – Not much to say here except don’t expect to dine-in. From what I recall there may have been one high-top table… maybe not? But this is a grab-n-go kind of joint. So grab That Burrito, eat Their food, read This review… you get the picture. Food Review – Cramming for finals on a Saturday night, nothing sounds better than warm comfort food like a messy burrito that you can slobber all over and not even care about because finals have got you barking mad. THAT Burrito is the remedy. I had a carne asada burrito since I was really feeling for some red meat. The carne itself was great and seasoned well and on top of that I loaded the burrito up with every single ingredient in sight, none were spared. The lime flavored rice was great, comparable to that of Chipotle. Bowls are pricier here, probably because they carry more in terms of volume but a burrito is more than big enough. Service Review – Quick and courteous you go through the assembly line in a jiffy and get to eat your food in less than five minutes time. There’s usually no wait here so if you’re looking for something quick, TBP is the spot. Overall Impression – It’s only the second time I’ve been to TBP but I’d say that occasionally, it’s comparable to Chipotle. Have a place in mind where you’re going to take your food since you’re definitely not going to be eating there and remember to grab a fistful of napkins! Things get REAL messy!

Sort of yum… This place is only okay. It’s supposed to be like Baja Fresh/Qdoba/Chipotle but it’s not quite up to par. They use too many«fillers» and skimp on the meat. Tastes okay, but it’s nothing amazing. But I guess if you’re in the mood for Mexican, you sort of have no choice.(Unless you go to the Ivy room for spinners! yum!!)

As Jason S. mentioned, this place is a page by page copy of a Chipotle but it just doesn’t stand up to the quality and taste that I’m used to. Sure Chipotle isn’t the best«San Francisco» burrito(wikipedia it) but this place manages somehow to fall short in all its areas, especially taste. You’d be surprised how easy that simple formula is to screw up. Prices are slightly more compared to what your used to paying for a chicken burrito but the base ingredients are the same. Somehow they managed to make the white rice mushy and not flavorful at all, had to douse my burrito in salsa which is their only saving grace. Chips I got were kind of stale. Their also running a $ 5 deal for a junior burrito now but checking the size on that thing, your better off paying the extra 2.50 or so to get the standard larger sized burrito. If they lowered prices here on their standard burrito they’d probably do a lot better but they do run a monopoly on burritos up by Cornell, which sucks if your craving a good burrito occasionally like me. FYI: Location is carry out only, Visa/Mastercard.
