Specialties

We are the only mobile groomer in King County who groom cats exclusively. Our groomer Alexander Emerald is well known in the area as the «Cat Whisperer» because of his special skill and sympatico with cats, even those considered difficult by their owners or other groomers. Alex has never met a cat he didn’t love.

History

Established in 2007.

Alexander Emerald (the Cat Whisperer) has a B.S. in Economics and an M.A. He was born in Bogota, Colombia and moved to the U. S, when he was 27 years old (1969) after being offered a scholarship at the State University of New York. Prior to opening Comfy Kitty Mobile Cat Grooming with his wonderful wife Denise (me), he was a counselor at Lake Washington Technical College. When he retired, his life long love of cats led him to open Comfy Kitty. He often says he wishes he had discovered this line of work at the beginning of his work life because he enjoys every day working with kitties.

Not especially pleased with the services for my two Persians. One is especially traumatized and her fur is chopped up all over. I can’t even tell they’re Persians. From this experience I can’t understand the 5-star reviews given by others. I will look elsewhere in the future. The one good thing is the service is a mobile unit and came to the house, but that’s all.

Wow– that’s all I can say about Alex! I have expected him to knock on the front door after 5 minutes and say our kitty was impossible. But 70 minutes later he was done, and Kitty was beautiful and HAPPY! I couldn’t believe how relaxed she was! I expected her to be pissy and hiding the rest of the day, but just like Alex said– she is much happier and feels so much better.
I can’t recommend him enough for kitty grooming. I heard that he was the «kitty whisperer,» and it’s true. I tried contacting a few other cat groomers, most of which never returned my phone calls. But Denise called me back the next business day (I left a message after hours) and got us scheduled. She even called us back later because she got a cancellation and thought of us. You can’t get better customer service than that!
If you are looking for a kitty grooming, look no further! Alex knows what he is doing, and he does it with respect of the kitties. Thanks Alex!

Alex was able to fully groom (including his first bath and clipper cut) our cat that is so challenging that 4 vet techs working together cannot get a claw trimmed. This is a cat that has bright yellow caution tape across the front of the crate at the vet so no techs attempt to handle him. I was completely shocked that Alex was able to tame our wild beast. Will definitely be calling him again! Also, Denise was great at returning calls with any questions I had before the big day!

I can’t say enough about Alex. I don’t know how he did it but he managed to put my Maine Coon at ease for the 90 minutes it took to get him looking pretty again (he has super thick, long fur that was quite matted). Alex was very kind and patient with my cat. While I expected my cat to be somewhat traumatized after having to spend 90 minutes being groomed, he was actually fine. I am amazed and very pleased. Highly recommend…

Alexander has been grooming my 4 cats for a couple of years and he’s fantastic. The two long hairs have hygeine cuts in the winter and crew cuts for the summer, while the 2 short hairs have grooming and nail cutting. Even the oldest cat, a biter, is calm and looks appreciative at the end of the session. Attentive to the cats and to me, he is patient, quality oriented and caring of the cats’ experience. I wouldnt use anyone else!

Two things never to do on my own: Self perform a root canal and groom the cat. Alex is best for the latter job. He specializes in felines only. The mobile center is completely self contained.
This is the original World’s Most Dangerous Catch, I mean, cat.
