I ordered a cake for my husband’s retirement last minute. I wanted a cake that looks like a challenge coin. They did a great job. The cake is delicious as well.

I was so disappointed in my cupcake from this bakery. I love stopping in to bakeries where ever I travel and haven’t worse quality in a bakery cupcake. The frosting of my «lemon cupcake» was decorator’s icing not buttercream: gross tasting and weepy consistency. And the cake I was told was lemon was actually pound cake with lemon curd filling. I ate exactly one bite and threw the rest away.

We ordered cake pops for a birthday and they were delicious!
Staff worked closely with us to make sure we ordered exactly what we wanted.
Have been back several times and have always been greeted with a smile and an amazing smell of fresh baked goods!

Sorry it took me so long to decide and walk in here. I was pleasantly surprised by the large selection of pastries, cakes etc they offered. I bought some chocolate covered pretzel rods (valentine themed) and a rainbow cookie heart cake, also for valentines. Both items were quite delicious — most especially the rainbow cookie cake. I loved the thick chocolate fudge like icing. Their to go packaging is super cute and the staff was very helpful and super nice. I will be back for sure!

One morning I came home, and I had gotten a letter in the mail saying that they wanted me to do stand up comedy here. I was ecstatic! I came in to the bakery ready to wow the crowd, and there lied my first problem. they didn’t provide me with a stool or a microphone. I went home to get what I needed, and came back to begin my stand up comedy. I was about halfway through my act, when I realized that they did not provide me with any beverage or something to nibble on. I told them about my dilemma and they offered me water and a cookie for $ 2.00! TWO WHOLE FRE*KING DOLLARS! I was outraged! I literally dropped the mic and left! That’s when they lost all of my business. Hope that $ 2.00 was worth losing my business!

A good, local bakery. They offer Italian cookies, creative new cookies, cupcakes, cakes, cake truffles, and more. They also service dogs– a water bowl outside and homemade biscuits for sale. There’s a few homemade decorative goods that old ladies would like as a gift.
The rainbow cookie cupcakes are creative and delicious, though too rich for one person in my opinion. So grab your friend and split this sucker, you’ll find an unexpected surprise when you do– a chocolate mousse center.
The honey oat bar is a good treat that you can easily trick yourself into feeling less guilty about eating due to the name.

We are really happy that we decided to chose this bakery for our daughters cake and cupcakes for her sweet sixteen. Everyone absolutely loved the cupcakes and the cake. Everything tasted so fresh and so amazing. The cupcakes not only tasted amazing but they looked amazing on display at our candy bar. The rainbow cookie cupcakes are to die for. We will definitely be coming back for more delicious goodies.

Without question, one of THE best bakeries I have ever been to. While a LITTLE pricey, the quality and deliciousness of their goods are worth the extra! Exquisite in every way! One example: Their fresh fruit tart is a true masterpiece just to gaze upon!

This review is long overdue. I have purchased many cakes, tarts, pastries and other baked goods from here for several years. This is my families go to bakery for special occasion cakes. So it was only right to trust them to make our gender reveal cake last year and it was absolutely perfect!
We gave them the sealed envelope with the gender of our first baby and we picked up the cake a few days later for our party. It was absolutely delicious!

Manhattan Sweets has been my favorite bakery since my mother-​in-​law introduced me to it a couple of years ago. She started getting their delicious fruit mouse cakes for various parties and they are always a big hit.
Eventually I started going there on my own and that is when my husband and I discovered their rainbow cookie cupcakes and became addicted. We knew we wanted a cupcake tower in place of a cake at our wedding and the stars aligned. I was concerned about the price, but it ended up being pretty reasonable and worth the splurge. We received so many compliments on our wedding day and couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out! We have given some of their other cupcakes a try but nothing really compares to the rainbow. They are also available in truffle form!

I have to say I wasn’t a big fan of the cupcakes I bought from this Islip bakery. It’s a nice little place designed like a boutique that has a wide variety if cakes, cookies, cupcakes, bonbons, macaroons and other pastries. Tried a red velvet cupcake and, though moist, it wasn’t very flavorful and it was 80% frosting inside and out. The chocolate cupcake didn’t fare any better, mostly icing. Almost $ 12 for three cupcakes that were mostly icing. Tried a little of my niece’s black and white cookie and it was a bit dry. It is a nice place to come I just wish the baked goods were a little better. They do, however, decorate their cakes very nicely.

They make the best pink & white cookie I’ve ever had. Their rainbow cookie cupcake is also so delicious. Everything is beautifully decorated. Bought a sunflower designed cake with yellow cake/​raspberry & lemon filling and that was also so moist and very flavorful. Excellent bakery!

Bought a pumpkin pie here a few days ago. Excellent quality! I now have a bakery to go to for all my Holiday desserts. This place is da bomb! Oh, their rolls with buttery sweet cream is awesome! Coffee not bad either.

The décor and the feel makes you feel like a little girl. The appearance of the baked goods is a beautiful sight. Two small peanut butter-​chocolate tarts, a linzer tart, and a large chocolate chip cookie at a whopping $ 9.50 makes this a loud NO. I’ve had the cakes in the past and they’re good, still outrageously overpriced. The cookies look much better than they feel and taste. Nope.

Dude. The rainbow cookie cupcake… amazing. Serious. Go get it. It’s so good on so many levels… and I HATE rainbow cookies. There are a lot of other items here, but the overall selection isn’t the greatest I’ve seen. I think that’s bc they make some cool custom cakes and stuff along those lines as well. Anyway, did I mention the rainbow cookie cupcake? Get it… and fill up a box with some other snacks along the way. We walked out with a cupcake and box of treats for around $ 10. Welllll worth it.
Protip: conveniently located neat Bubba’s. The perfect post-​burrito treat. Do it.

This bakery is absolutely amazing! I have never been disappointed at the quality or taste of anything I have ordered. Having used to work next door for several years, I was always popping in to try their treats. There are always a plethora of assorted, interesting cupcakes… my favorite is definitely the rainbow cookie cupcake! AMAZING. I am also a huge fan of their fruit tarts and peanut butter chocolate tarts. If your significant other is ever angry at you… do yourself a favor and pick up a bag of these, and I promise, you’re out of the dog house!
Considering that I LOVE the taste here, and everything always is fresh and amazing, I ordered my boyfriend’s 30^th birthday cake here. I was astounded and almost dissuaded to use Manhattan Sweets based on the price… over $ 400 dollars! I understand that it was multi layered, included fondant, the cost of the materials and labor… but 400 dollar for a cake?! I nearly had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Just let that sink in… I was expecting maybe $ 200 at most… OVER 400???
BUT, I must say… the cake looked and tasted phenomenal. The person behind the counter really helped me research types of cakes and helped me pick the perfect design and flavors, everyone at the party was astounded by the cake, and it is still talked about several months later. The cake really was the highlight of the party, truly! My biggest concern of this bakery is the price, but the food is so good, consistent, and smells and tastes so fresh! The décor is absolutely beautiful and adorable, very chic little girly type of bakery, it does give off a «Manhattan» vibe. I’ve only had good experiences here.

AWFUL, I ordered a rose cake and included pictures of what it should look like. They have a display in the window. Cake just came out like swirls, NOTHING like what they have displayed in the window.
I even emailed pictures and the owner only apologized and said she was not there the day my cake was made. what a waste of $ 500. If I would’ve known that, I would’ve just bought a regular sheet cake.
WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN.

First, can we talk about how cute this place is?
I am only rating this place because of cupcakes… I eat cupcakes from everything. It is like a fat girls passion.
These cupcakes were great! I could not believe hose moist they are. I am always skeptical about a cupcake with a cream icing. I usually like sweet stuff. But seriously these were just amazing. My boyfriend and I shared a pink sparkly cupcake with a jelly filling, and an incredible rainbow cookie cupcake!
Can not wait to go back here and try some more!

I need to write an update now that we’ve used Manhattan Sweets for all our wedding-​related baked goods.
Manhattan Sweets recently made our wedding cake, and it was amazing. We chose red velvet with cream cheese filling, and it was so moist and delicious. We asked for a unique decoration of the city skyline on our cake, and it came out beautiful. We got so many compliments on our cake. My husband said it even tasted good smashed onto his face!
They also made our groom’s cake which was an homage to my husband’s favorite tam, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The cake was beautiful — and delicious — chocolate with cannoli cream. It was a surprise for my husband, and he really got a kick out of it!
And, last but not least, we had our favorite rainbow cookie cupcakes boxed up individually as a wedding favor. They were amazing, and a real hit with our guests. I think desserts make an excellent favor, to either eat late at night after the after-​party or the next morning as you get yourself out of bed. These cupcakes are truly unique and scrumptious and, at breakfast the next morning, all our guests who had stayed in the hotel asked «Do you have anymore of those cupcakes?»
We’re already looking forward to our first anniversary and digging back into that red velvet cake!

Manhattan Sweets brings even more charm to the South Shore, adding modern whimsy to a darling village strip. Its ambience is very different from the more established local bakeries, which are kind of starkly decorated.
The treats are inventive and the cakes are an absolute delight to behold. They use all real ingredients — no shortcuts and shortening here! — so they’re a little pricier than other neighborhood bakeries, but worth it. The cakes are designed beautifully, and are just as much of a treat to look at as they are to eat.
A cake of note is the one shaped like a cheerful sunflower. Light, fluffy yellow cake is layered between raspberry jelly (slightly tart) and a lemon curd filling (not too sweet), then wrapped in whipped buttercream (not too oily).
The attention to detail in their cupcakes is also noteworthy, especially the rainbow cookie cupcake. Almond-​paste cake, dyed red, yellow, and green, are carefully layered like a real rainbow cookie, with a generous shot of raspberry jelly injected into the center. The top is then dipped in chocolate and accented with a little rainbow cookie.
The packaging here makes for a lovely presentation as well, with carnation pink boxes used to carry goods rather than the basic white. However, you pay for the box with the cupcakes — they’ll tack on another dollar and change to package it as a gift.
Speaking of gifts, there are a lot of cutesy, girly items for sale here as well. One-​stop shopping! The boutique goods add further to the ambience of saccharine-​sweet charm.
The only downside to this bakery is that you have a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance of good customer service. One lady has a major attitude problem and will upcharge you for everything and make you feel bad for asking questions. The other is as sweet as the pies they make, and extremely accommodating. However, the odds of trying something you’ll love is ⁸⁵⁄₁₅ (the pinenut tart’s a little dry), so I’d say give it a shot anyway.
Quick update: For my husband’s 30^th birthday, I picked up a square rainbow cookie cake, since it’s his favorite and I was duly impressed by the quality of their rainbow cookie cupcake. This was $ 25 very well spent, because it knocked my fricking socks off.
Lush, dense, moist, and almondy to the extreme, my face almost exploded from the pure flavor and undiluted ecstasy of this perfect execution of rainbow cookie goodness. It was rainbow cookie times a hundred, with all of the flavors you want and expect, just in thicker layers. The raspberry jelly was present; the apricot jelly was accounted for. No shortcuts with a chocolate frosting … it was chocolate ganache all the way.
This was absolutely the most PERFECT rainbow cookie cake I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting, and so good, that even after a big full meal, there was only a slice left for us to fight over after 8 people dug in with enthusiasm.
