As a windsurfer, and in charge of purchasing windsurfing gear for my club, this place was a must-stop for me. It’s located right at the exit for a road to an extremely popular windsurfing spot on Sherman Island, that I went to for a clinic. In some sports stores(looking at you, bicycle shops), everything and the staff feels pretentious; not here. The guy was friendly and helpful and they have a cool display of boards from windsurfing history. They have a full range of new and some used merchandise. As it happened, I really didn’t need any gear either personally or for my club, and it was almost a shame to come away with nothing. It’s a bit of a trek for me, and not particularly on the way to anywhere else, but if I’m close by or go windsurfing at Sherman Island again I’ll definitely stop by. Even if it’s just to wonder how people used to sail those huge old boards with the heavy teak booms.

These are the Go To guys on Sherman Island for all your windsurfing /kitesurfing needs. I’ve needed their services about twenty times — two were arguable emergencies!!! — and I’ve always found super knowledgeable and friendly people manning the helm. This family has owned and operated Delta for at least two generations — and I took a windsurfing class with generation three a few months ago — looks like the trend may continue. ;) I like that the family are old hands at the sports I practice, and they can give me useful information and advice. They know what’s out there in the way of boards, sails, wetsuits, weather on Sherman, and a zillion of additional tidbits. They’ll steer you right.

These guys are the tops, they are cheaper, faster, better, and more real than all the rest. Yes, it is true that they have talked me OUT of spending monies I really wanted to and that is unheard of today in retail. The advise I get from them is superb and they stand by the equipment like no one else. I was once kidding with Ev about why he keeps the place and he said, «Its not a business really, its more a community service.» I think there is more truth to that than you’d guess. Bless you all who enter Delta Windsurf Company. Cheers, Big E
