History

Established in 2009.

We have been in business for 6 years, exploring the waters of Islamorada on a daily basis. Our captain is a local Floridian, born and raised. She has a degree in Marine biology and is very knowledgeable of the nature and history of the area. We offer nothing but the best and will go above and beyond to make your tour with us the greatest boat ride in the Florida Keys!

Meet the Business Owner

Samantha Z.

Business Owner

Captain Samantha is a local resident with a large knowledge base of the Islamorada area. She was born in Florida and grew up playing on the waters off of Lower Matecumbe. She learned to fish and snorkel at a young age and took a liking to the marine habitat. Samantha went on to study Marine Biology at Barry University and earned her degree in May 2009. She loves being on the water and enjoys educating people about the importance of the marine environment.

I cannot say enough positive things about our trip. We did a 3 hours excursion. Captain Sam is knowledgeable and fun. We went out even though the weather was relatively cool and it was worth every minute of it. If you’ve been considering going on a charter, eco tour, or glass bottom boat tour, I’d recommend taking a trip out with «KeyZ Charters».
We went to mangrove islands, learned about historical areas, and of course saw tons of wildlife (birds, iguanas, marine life, etc.).
Plus, the marina where Captain Sam keeps her boat, «Robbies», has great food and drinks for before/​after your trip.
Fair price; great views; lots of fun.

Thank you Captain Samantha for starting off the best New Year’s Eve of my life. My husband and I took a two hour Eco-​tour with her to fulfill my dream of seeing a wild manatee. From the very start of the tour, her knowledge of the ecosystem and history of the region were highly impressive. We saw so much wildlife and were entertained by the pirate and smuggling stories. I wish we’d asked for the 5 hour tour.
We ended up going to Key West for the Duval St. New Year’s Eve party at her suggestion as well, I’ve never had a better New Years Eve in all my 46 years, it was a fantastic, magical day and night I’ll never forget! We will be back, it was so much fun!

Earlier in the day we tried going on an eco-​tour with another captain, their boat engine kept cutting out while we were underway. Two hours later and maybe only a quarter mile into the ocean, we returned and found Captain Sam. Her boat was clean, well maintained and equipped. She tailored the experience to meet our desire; knew exactly where to take us snorkeling. All in all a great experience, I’d highly recommend checking her out at Robbie’s Marina.

We took a last-​minute trip with Sam, and it was great. A quick two-​hour eco tour (no snorkeling as it had been very windy). Sam was courteous and knowledgable, the boat was clean, and wildlife was in abundance: a mom/​baby manatee, a crocodile, and many types of birds made an appearance.
Bonus is that you get to watch tarpon (if that’s your thing) at Robbie’s while you wait to board. The seagull/​bird interaction is pure entertainment.
