Capt. Charlie Filpes offers a unique, year-​round boating experience in Islamorada/​Key Largo. We provide you with everything under the sun aboard the «TIKI TIKI», our 26 foot open fisherman; along with an experienced captain who can show you the local «hot spots.» Your day on the water is specially tailored just for you, which means you can relax and enjoy the sun and surf and leave your cares behind.

Let us take you, your family and friends anywhere in Islamorada. We offer snorkeling, shallow water «flats» fishing, relaxing at the one and only Sand Bar, kayaking, paddleboarding, barbecuing fresh fish or your choice of BBQ lunch, restaurant and bar hopping, and more. We provide everything you need and we will capture your memories above and below the water with breathtaking digital photography. You decide what, when and where and we will take you there.

Being a boat captain as well as a school teacher for 19 years, Capt. Charlie Filpes also offers a marine eco-​education charter for children. This charter offers an opportunity to learn to snorkel, fish, kayak, basic principles of boatmanship, as well as hand on lessons on the marine environment. See video to learn more.

Meet the Business Owner

Capt. Charlie F.

Business Owner

Born & raised in Miami, Fl, Capt. Charlie was very fortunate to spend his weekends and summers in the fabulous Florida Keys. Born from Cuban parents, Capt. Charlie is fluent in Spanish. His love for the ocean stemmed from his maternal grandfather and his commercial fisherman brother. Since 1979, Capt. Charlie Filpes has been boating, fishing, scuba diving, spearfishing, hydro-​sliding, kayaking, paddlebaording, and even hydroplaning the spectacular waters of the Florida Keys. He spent most of his summer time while a young child and teenager in the Florida Keys. His playgrounds included a variety of Sand Bars, mangrove islands and coral reefs throughout the Upper Keys. This explains his vast experience and ability to put you in the best spot at the perfect time.

Mr. Filpes has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology/​Anthropology from Florida International University (FIU) and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Barry University, as well as being certified in Physical Education.
