The Apartment Movers

My things have not been moved yet but excellent customer service sets the tone. Devonte at the Irving Texas location offer customer service that should be used in business training. He has a knowledge base and professionalism that let me know if made the right call. To add to it he went above and beyond to find the answer to my questions and not assume or give me inadequate information. When the next time I need apartment movers in will ask for him.

This is the worst moving company I have ever used and never again. They damaged my furniture and wont come forward and pay for it. They keep trying to run away from our claim. They tell you they have sent a check but never did they. I has been nothing but a run around with this company. One of their reps who came to the house to look at the damage never got back to us on the recourse. Finally after hounding them they said alot of it was old. Well that was b/​s … This same rep. admitted they have received many complaints from the BBB. So before you use this company check with the BBB you have your eyes opened… Good luck

I’m not surprised that they have awful reviews. I didn’t use them to move but they were relentless in calling and emailing. Even after I requested they stop calling and emailing. They followed up and asked why, I let them know I already scheduled a move with someone else. They said they could still give me a better price. I let them know it’s not all about price. It seems these people work on some type of commission. Watch out if you request a quote, they won’t leave you alone even if you ask.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY… I should’ve read reviews before booking with this company, but taking a word of someone who used them before I went against my own judgment. The workers and the customer service reps have very bad attitudes. On top of that cause they messed up our contract when we called to confirm contract, instead of taking ownership they blamed us. Customer Service 101 your supposed to apologize for any errors and ask how can we fix the issue? The manager Casey had a bad attitude and when I told him about how his workers were answering me when a question was ask his response was OKAY. .I will not be using this company again worst customer service ever. If you want customers learn Customer Service 101.

The office was a little confused I believe but the movers showed up on time. The price was affordable. The two guys were very nice. However, using movers in the past I know there are better ones out there. The guys moved at a very slow pace, got lost in route, and didn’t even have to move appliances or take anything apart nor did they put my bed back together. I’ve always had all of the above done and moved in a faster time. My brand new hard wood floors I had installed are all scratched up. I’m just irritated with the whole thing. But you get what you pay for i guess. I wanted to keep the cost under 300 and did so.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Non professional lazy excuses for work. Led my family on all day with what time they were going to get there and never showed up. Rescheduled for the next morning and did not show up AGAIN!!! Awful!

Why all the bad reviews! Thanks to Aptmovers, I ‘ve used them in the past to move from Rockwall to Dallas on January 2015 and The move was accomplished on time. They called me 30 minutes before arrival, no extra charge.
Every move I have done with them has been very professional and they took good care of all my furniture and fragile items in boxes.

This is my first review on Unilocal,but after the extremely unprofessional and downright terrible service I received at the hands of the apartment movers I felt compelled to write a scathing review.
If you’re smart your read these previous reviews. I was desperate to find movers for a last minute move. I didn’t check and what a mistake that was.
I called and scheduled a move for late December, and was given a window of 10a-​3p. The day finally came, and it was 2p when we called for an eta. The company informed us that the movers where 2 hours behind. That’s fine, but we needed to be out that day. So two hours pass by the movers give us a call. A man named troy explains to us that he needed 2 more hours his current move was bigger than he expected. The man claimed to have 14 years experience, and just didn’t seem to handle questions about when the expected to arrive very well.
Another 2 hours pass by we call the moving company they were about to close and they try and get us to reschedule, but that was not an option. Then we call the movers and he gave us the same story about the current client needing another load and it was going to be another 2 hours. At this point it was 8p, and once again he tried to get us to cancel or reschedule at a discount price. Once again it was not an option. He said that the police would come and tell them to stop what they’re doing or some nonsense like that.
At that point we knew this wasn’t happening. We reserved a uhaul and slept on the floor of the new apartment.
10p the phone rings it’s Troy the man with 14 years experience he’s calling to let us know that he’s finally arrived at the apartment complex. We let him know that we are at the new apartment and we’ll be there in less than 5 minutes. (the apartment we’re moving to is in the same apartment complex)
We quickly drive to the old apartment, and as we get there they are taking off. We see a truck with a orange trailer attached without any labels or markings of any kind. We attempt to call the movers but they aren’t answering.
Is this real life???
I cannot express the rage that was experienced. Do not hire these idiots. If you do and your mover is Troy your in for a bad time.

Was given a window of 1 — 5, it’s three hours layer, and I’m still waiting. When I called their office about this, they just hung up on me. I went up there, and their office looks a meth lab. Never. Use. EVER!

By far the worst experience in my life!!! They damaged every piece of furniture I have. I’ve been trying to get in contact with them on my claim for literally a year now and still can’t get any answers. The guys they sent to move my things were high, and even had the nerve to turn on my television to watch the cowboys game while taking bottles of water from my kitchen and drinking them!!! They came an hour late. They brought a very small trailor that they assured me everything would fit. They were very rough and just threw my things on the truck. When you call to set up your appointment, everyone is so sweet and nice. However when you call back with an issue they are so rude if they decide to answer. I believe the head guy there name is Chris. I spoke with him during the move when we arrived at my new home and i saw all the damage furniture. Chris was so rude. He said «well i called to see how the move was going earlier». If i’m moving and an unknown number calls and doesn’t leave a message who’s really going to take time out of their move to call the number back. If its important leave a message. Chris called me again as his guys smoked a joint in the truck and talked to them about how frustrated and upset i was after seeing just 2 items come off the truck. Nothing has gotten fixed, and I will never ever ever ever use them again. If someone knows anything I could do to get my money back or even have my claimed responded to I would really appreciate it. Please just don’t use this company

Worst experience with movers. Had a move scheduled for an evening between 4 – 8. They called at 8:30 to tell me they were not going to make it without an apology. If you want your movers to show up on time… or even show up… do NOT use these movers ever.
I had to call the next day to reschedule and was told I would have a priority am move the following week from 7−9am. At 9:15 I called their office and was told that the driver had not even picked up my order from their Irving office. He stated that the driver lived in Mesquite and that there was a lot of traffic… my response was that I would assume that he would take into account traffic so that he could arrive to his first job on time. Brett from the moving co was EXTREMELY abrupt and rude on the phone. He stated that movers usually arrive at 7 – 7:30, but that my driver was stuck in traffic… really…for two hours from mesquite to Dallas???
Moving is stressful enough as it is without dealing with poor customer service and a blatant disregard for their customers time. Needless to say I contacted another mover.

I’d leave 0 stars if I could. — the manager/​owner of this location should take a lesson on CUSTOMER SERVICE!
We were told the movers would be at my apt. between 1 and 6, which is a HUGE time frame but whatever.
I called at 2 PM to see if we could get an ETA and were told our movers were on an hourly move so she couldn’t even give us an estimate. Okay, weird… but fine. — 5:30 rolls around and… NOTHING! — I called again. This time the guy who answered the phone told me they were way behind because of a few wrecks that happened to their trucks earlier in the week. (Uhh…is this MY problem?) I then spoke to another woman who said the heat was causing issues. Uhh… do you not tell them to stay hydrated? Last i checked, our roads and buildings still get built during the summer. After this, they asked if I could reschedule for the following day. Uhhh NO!!! All of my stuff is packed up and I’m paying to live at my new place TODAY! I then spoke to the manager/​owner who was the rudest person I’ve ever talked to. She said there was no way I could get any kind of discount and she also asked if I could reschedule. NO! — After hearing excuse after excuse and being treated and spoken to the way she did, while also being denied any kind of rebate for THEIR horrible service, I hung-​up and got different movers.
In short… you are better off asking your 2 year old neighbord if they could move you.
I could go on and on, but I will leave it at that.

If I could give ZERO stars to this company, I certainly would. We hired them for a small job in September of 2011. My biggest complaint is the theft from one of my boxes of liquor, which I did not tape closed due to uneven bottle sizes. The guys stole one full bottle of liquor, which had never been opened. Toward the end of the job, they were tired, and started practicaly dragging my furniture up the stairs. I ended up with damage to a lamp, my brand new hard wood floor and a dresser. When I called the company, and filed a formal complaint, they advised they had months to respond. They NEVER responded. I followed up repeatedly, and was basically ignored. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS OR WANT TO BE TREATED WITH HONESTY.

PLEASE Please please DO NOT USE these people to move your stuff. They use contractors to move your items, NOT Apartment Mover employees. Here is my story (Don’t worry it’s short and sweet)
1. Movers arrive at 9:00 AM to move stuff into Truck
2. Movers begin drive to Austin
3. Movers get pulled over, arrested, and the truck (yeah, the one with my whole life in it) gets IMPOUNDED (3 hours away from my «move to» location, I might add)
4. I am in a apartment with no furniture, no bed, etc. for 3 days
5. They were NOT informative and tried to make it seem like they «didn’t know why» the drivers got pulled over… PUH-​LEASE. (Of course, a thousand things are going through my head: drinking while driving, drugs, illegal immigrants, etc.)
AND since it was a Friday, they can’t get my stuff to me until MONDAY! My stuff is going to be sitting in the Texas heat for two days and I can’t do anything about it. They offered to knock only $ 200 off my total of 1200 $!! What a joke. I am not paying them a dime.
Save yourself the hassle I had to go through and just haggle with more professional moving companies to get their prices down or pay full price, it’s worth the stress. RESEARCH!

Never again.
Day one: I have a window from 12−6pm. Someone from the company calls me at 6:30pm to tell me that the truck that was supposed to come is still busy. the driver did not call to tell me. Dispatch tells me they will do us first at 7am the next day, or wait until the movers get there (when?) and pack and unload in the middle of the night.
Day two: several hours go by. No one has called, so I call. They are on their way. Upon arrival I was asked to sign documents that said «after moved finished». They were insistent that I give them cash, since it is totally normal for everyone to have four hundred bucks in their pocket at all times. They don’t take checks, and giving them a card took about twenty minutes to figure out. The truck ended up not being big enough, after I told them what we would have and how many square feet our house was. One of the movers talked to dispatch and kept blaming me for the items not fitting, even though it wasn’t his issue– I heard a lot of excuses from both the movers and dispatch even though they assured me they were going to have a large enough vehicle.
Truck one leaves, and without any conpensation for wasting my entire day waiting (day before) they charge me an absurd amount to move the few things that did not fit. Dispatch tells me the next truck will be there in an hour and the driver will call me. an hour and a half goes by and no one is there, no calls either. They rerouted the truck and didn’t inform me. Over two hours later the truck arrives.
Overall, the movers themselves were fine. Nothing got broken, and they packed quickly. However, the company took no responsibility for failing to show up, and kept blaming other employees for everything they could. Very unprofessional and way past my estimate!

I’ll refrain myself from a rant this time and just leave you with this:
They. Arrived. 11. Hours. Late.
Not using them again.

Oh, where do I begin?! So… I booked my move with the Apt Movers In Early June for a move on July 15. Their quote was $ 175 for my small 1 bedroom. On June 15, the movers called and said they were on their way. I immediately called the office to tell them of the mistake, and the sales person blamed it on «someone else getting into the system and changing it.» Should have been my first red flag.
Moving on…
July 15 rolls around, adn I get a call from the Apt Movers saying the move was going to cost more because of «elevator fees.» THey couldn’t have told me this in the month and a half before? So I could at least shop other companies? I fought for a discount.
Moving on again…
I told the person from whom I purchased the move that I had the freight elevator at my new place from 2−5pm. She assured me the crew would be there at 1. I called at 2, after the crew had still not shown, and she again said «someone else got in and changed my move time»
The crew showed at 6pm.
Then, they were so slow, that me and my 95 lb. roommate started moving heavy boxes ourselves to get it done. It was the first move in which I didn’t tip. It was that bad.
Do yourself a favor… and STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Totally eff’ed me over — big time. This includes direct communication with the owner Nils Mera, who is an immoral, lying, theiving, and ultimately selfish person.
They gave the wrong list to the movers with the wrong directions, wrong tools — then the movers refused to finish the move unless i paid them more, totally messed up my carpet, broke a vase, misplaced a comfortor, an ipod nano… etc. They didnt have the proper equipment and from the get go were tyring to steal more money from me saying I didn’t disclose things to them that were CLEAR IN WRITING.
Then, she admitted there were some misses but said «at least the movers werent stoned or on drugs like other moving companies» (and btw the movers were the slowest group id ever seen), committed to have my carpet cleaned and 90.00 of credit issued back to me.
GUESS WHAT? THEY CONVENIENTLY ARE OUT OF OFFICE AND AVOIDING ME.

This is probably one of the most inexpensive movers you’ll find in the DFW area. And you know what they say: you get what you pay for.
I’ve moved a lot in the past several years and I’ve always used the Apartment Movers. I first began using them because their rates were so much cheaper than their competitors’. My first experience with them was back in 2007, and it wasn’t bad at all.
My second time was in 2008, and it was only slightly bad. The movers got dirt on my cream-​colored couch. I had to pay professional steamers to come and get that crap out.
My third time was in 2009. No major problems, but one of the two movers looked like he was about 65 ort 70. He was barely keeping up with his younger partner, who was frustrated because the old dude had to constantly stop to rest. No major problems though.
My third time was in September of 2010, and it will be my LAST time. I was given a five-​hour window: they were supposed to arrive sometime between 10 AM and 3 PM. I waitied ALL day and finally got a call at 2:50, telling me they were running a little behind. It was about 3:20 when they finally arrived. So yea… the FIVE-​hour window was apparently too hard for them to meet.
Second, during the move, I noticed that a corner of one of my wooden nightstands had been chipped off. The mover honestly admitted that he had done it and apologized. What could I do? Later, as I was settling down in my new place, I noticed a scratch here and a scratch there as well on various items. :o/​
The topper though was this: I was told only the hourly rate over the phone. When then movers arrived, they gave me a written contract to sign for a three-​hour fee. I thought it was strange, but failed to understand that I was being charged a three-​hour minimum. Meaning — I was paying for three hours even if the move took less than two. I signed it without understanding this.
Then when the move was done, I had to pay for three hours even though the move took less than two hours. The movers told me they couldn’t do anything about it, and that I should contact the company. I did. Every single day.
After a week of repeated calls, I finally got in touch with a woman who rudely told me that there was nothing she could do since I signed the contract. Really? What the hell was I supposed to do when the movers got there LATE, and I was all ready to move? Refuse to sign the contract, send the movers back, and find a replacement at that late hour? Worst customer service I’ve experienced in a loooong time.

Wow, I am shocked these guys have gotten such bad reviews! I have used them 2 times and have had a good experience both times. They showed up on time (although they do give you a 5 hour window, which is a beating– they will call you 30 minutes before they come).
I moved in the miserable rain this weekend and they were fast, efficient and nice enough to put down clean blankets on my new carpet so they wouldn’t track in mud. They didn’t mind moving my stuff a few times around my apartment and even helped me unload my TV from my car. They did not charge me extra for being high maintenance.
One of the guys was really freaking cool, I had my itunes on while unpacking and he about died when Nas came on and I went all OG on him. (I am a fairly small white girl by the way). Then we talked about the Slipp Inn and became bff.
All in all, they did their job, gave me a flat fee to move all of my furniture (of heavy wood), washers/​dryers, over 30 boxes and a sleeper sofa all for under $ 300.
Give them a try again, ask for Parnell– he hooked me up with a «loyal customer» discount. Score!
