Their pricing was reasonable, they were able to get the job done the next day, and they changed my rotors and brakes in my driveway. What great service!!!

These guys were great from start to finish! First I asked for a quote and Dan got me quotes for different levels of repair needs. Got my appointment the same day that I told him I was ready to have my car serviced. Chris came out and was not only friendly but upfront on what repair were needed and NOT needed at this time… top notch service… he even pointed out a worn tire that I missed when I inspected it not too long ago that could have easily blown out on the highway. Chris finished things in less than an hour and I was able to go get another tire right after so my car is good to go! Thanks for getting my car taken care of quickly, conveniently, honestly, and at a reasonable price!!! I will definitely be referring business to these guys!

I was referred to this company through a community Facebook site. I also checked them out here on Unilocal.They do live up to their 5-​star reputation. Chris came out this morning (such a pleasant guy). I had him come to my work (how easy is that?!!) and a short time later I had new front and back brakes. I even had him change my back wiper (that really needed to be changed and many places didn’t carry for the Lexus SUV). A co-​worker had him look at her bmw while he was here (she said it has been squeaking) but he told her that her brakes were fine and didn’t need replacing (yet). He said he use to be a «master mechanic» with bmw! This was super easy and very fairly priced (although I will say I was a bit confused by the email quote, it was my error but make sure you read it so no surprises — again it was my error). I am so happy I found them and can not recommend more highly. Btw they do serve Dallas, Collin & Rockwall County. Thanks Chris, now I can stop on a dime!

They were professional. Gave me an honest quote that was a bit less than the 6 shops I called. They showed up at my job and got my brake pads changed, roters changed and drums cleaned in about 40 min. It was so convenient and easy on my end. Highly recommend them!

I didn’t have as good of luck with these guys. Yes they are nice, but my front left brakes squeal after changing them. They came out again and changed pads when I told them and the noise was still there after. I never had brake noise until after the work was done and I hear it constantly now, even after a few thousand miles.
The update to my review by them is completely false. They did in fact hear the brakes squeak and did not recommend replacing my back brakes upon first inspection, only after they couldn’t figure out what the cause was. I’ve since taken my truck to Toyota and they said they didn’t need to be replaced yet as well.

Fast service and reasonable pricing. I appreciate the professionalism and the way they work with me to get my issues resolved will be using them and recommending them for future work.

I called on a Thursday afternoon, hoping to get an appointment for early the next week. Dan said he could have someone out the same day! I wasn’t expecting that, and wasn’t going to be home until late. When asked what time I would like to have a technician come out the next day, I told him I would be home all day, so whenever it was convenient for them. Dan said, «No, no, no, that’s my line. When is best for you?» Refreshing customer service in this day and age.
The technician, Chris, was friendly, timely, and thorough. No upsell. Just a quality repair at my home for less than I was quoted by three brick-​and-​mortar shops.
I can’t recommend Stop on a Dime highly enough.

This is actually my first review ever on Unilocal,but since I was so satisfied with their service, I just had to praise how convenient Stop On A Dime service is. My brakes started grinding on my back rotors a few days ago, so I called and spoke to Dan, the owner. He emailed me a pricing quote of how much brake pads & brake pads + rotors cost for the front & back for my 2005 Acura TL. The prices were very reasonable & affordable compared to dealership prices.
Chris came by my workplace the next day to take a look at my vehicle. He told me only my back brakes and rotors were bad and needed changing. Since my front rotors and brakes were still okay, he told me get my money’s worth and drive it until the front brakes starts squeaking/​grinding — he has no problem coming back out to get the front changed whenever I’m ready. Chris did not try to up-​sell me anything and was very honest. I left my vehicle with him and went back to work, 30 minutes later he called me back and said he was done. I was so surprised it was done so quickly! No more of that annoying & embarrassing grinding noise when I step on the brakes now.
I will definitely call back Stop On a Dime to get any future brakes service done with my vehicle and will refer them to friends & family. Thanks Dan & Chris for taking care of me.

This business is one that initially falls into the «too good to be true category,» until you realize that they really are a five star service. I called Park Place Mercedes to get an estimate on brake repair, and almost had a heart attack on the phone when they told me the exorbitant charges. I immediately began searching for a better and cheap service, and Stop On A Dime popped up. I mostly dealt with Chris — let me say that he is a professional in every sense, with a great smile to boot! Not only did he re-​diagnose my brakes for a lower quote than his initial pricing, his colleague made sure to immediately credit my checking account after the wrong amount was assessed. What small company can boast such amazing service? I feel truly lucky that I found these guys before selling my vehicle. It was a huge relief dodging a major and unnecessary expense thanks to the professionalism of Stop On A Dime!

Great break job! Our brakes were bad and we had neglected them for a while but my husband was referred to Stop On a Dime by a colleague and decided to try them out. I mean how could you beat having someone come to your house to check out your car AND do the service to it right there as well! Tom came out in the morning, on a rainy day at that, and drove it to check it out and said it wasn’t as bad as I thought and would be back with the parts and do the labor. He did just that after I got a call from Dan reaffirming what Tom had said and made sure I was good with their prognosis and time of the work. Tom came back did the work in great time and I’m very pleased with my brakes! I really think this is a great idea they had!

what more can you ask for then to have your brakes worked on by a senior 20+ year experienced tech while you are at work and for a great price? Used these folks for a toyota and a lexus brake job about four years ago and last week for a 4-​runner and another lexus. Great prices (way cheaper than the dealer), and they fixed a «squeal» that the lexus dealer was unable to after two tries. Plus they don’t «upsell» you. They replace the pads if thas all thats needed. No attempt to work on the rotors if its not necessary. Highly recommend Stop on a Dime Mobile Brake Service. Very friendly and very convenient, including payment.

Chris came out to take a look at my vehicle — he was straight forward and honest that I didn’t need any work done at the time. He did a thorough check up on my brake system to make sure, and said I was good to go. Yesterday, as I was driving, my brakes went out on my car. I managed to make it home (I was pretty much across the street from my complex) and turned to Unilocal for a mechanic. I am a bit hesitant when it comes to mechanics, but decided to call Stop on a Dime due to their outstanding reviews. Boy am I glad I did!
The gentleman I spoke to over the phone was very kind and accommodating. That was a good sign as far as I’m concerned. He gladly set me up for them to come out this morning so I could still get to work.
Chris came out today and did amazing work! He is quick and efficient and had a great sense of humor. He could have easily told me my calipers were bad and charged me the extra $ 200 to have those replaced, but gladly told me they were fine. I have no knowledge of cars, so that would have been real easy.
The pricing is very affordable. I am so glad I found them and will turn to no one else for brake problems ever!

One of the most trustworthy businesses in DFW and these guys will come to YOU. Prompt, courteous etc. Ok, this just isn’t expected these days. Chris, the owner, drove all the way out to McKinney to do the brakes on my car. I think his other mechanics were busy and this was the only day this week that I was going to be available, so he came out. The brakes were squeaking and I was just ready to have new pads put on. Well, Chris kindly pointed out that there was plenty of pads left on my car and that I didn’t need ANY work done. So, it you want an honest and ethical group to do work for you, THIS is the group to do it. I am so glad that there are those out there as it just doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Its just nice to know.

Trying to find the time to get my car into the shop for new brake pads was a real pain… then I saw the mobile service from stop-​on-​a-​dime and gave them a call. I’m VERY glad I did. While I was working from home, I got my car serviced, and I never even had to leave the house! They were very prompt, courteous, and done in a flash. The technician Chris was very friendly and professional. The price was right about what I expected as well. I’ll be calling them again for any future brake work.

Unilocal, forgive me for not reviewing this company sooner. For the amount of scummy, lying dishonest people you come across in the automotive industry, these guys are the rare exception.
Chris and Dan are both committed to complete honesty, transparency, and overall are excellent to work with. I’ve recommended them to several colleagues and friends who all have been impressed by their work.

Their most amazing quality as a service you might employ or think about employing is their honesty. I really could have been taken advantage of twice, and I was very aware of it. But my agent was incredible.
I know very little about mechanics and brakes and the inner workings of my car in general, and this is very obvious. I had completely wore out my front brakes, and what I thought for sure were my back brakes too. Dan was pretty quickly aware of how little I knew within the first 10 minutes of him inspecting my brakes.
Not only were my brakes wore out completely, but the pedal had stopped working the day before. He tested the pedal first, and immediately checked for a leak and tracked it down. What I loved about Dan was that during our initial diagnostic period, he dove in and told me every single thing that he was doing and what he was thinking about it. This is definitely somewhere he could have been ripping me off and leading me on into a higher bill like several other places, but ultimately he did not.
So he pretty quickly nails down that the piston in the brake calipers had been extended way too far. He was almost certain that he wouldn’t be able to fix it and began preparing me for that cost. Next he set to work first thing on trying to get that fixed. Long story short, he gets it on the third try, saving me hundreds and days without a car!!!
Next I tell him to go ahead and fix all the brakes /​replace rotors /​pads. He agrees, tells me he’ll call me in an hour, and then sends me back up to the office to finish my day out while he completes the work. Talk about convenience!
He calls me 45 minutes later (early)! He also lets me know I’ve got about 6 more months on my back brakes so he didn’t do anything with those.
I ASKED for him to charge me more, but again, Stop on a Dime is just flat out honest, and they didn’t do that, in my best interest.
All the other things that happened were great too: e-​mail quotes within a few minutes, scheduled over e-​mail for the next day, text message to me confirming the appointment and who would be arriving, work completed early, HONESTY, friendly staff, phone call after my service making sure I was happy, I just can’t even begin to recommend this company enough.
They were WAY cheaper than a shop would be, and obviously 100% more convenient, and the work was just solid solid work.
Use these guys, they’re phenomenal!
