They have a serious ROACH problem at IMT Lakeshore Lofts!
Almost a week after moving into IMT Lakeshore Lofts, we started seeing roaches! We found a live roach on our kid’s «bassinet». We’ve found live roaches on the kitchen counter tops while we were cooking! We’ve found live roaches in both bedrooms and in the bathroom and closet (Gross!!!)
This is truly a sickening and traumatic experience for me and my family because we are SUPER clean and have NEVER had any issues with pests, and certainly not disgusting roaches! We notified property management and IMT’s headquarters and they indicated they would spray. Keep in mind, IMT allegedly exterminated the unit that we moved into, as a standard procedure right before we moved in. It appears this was the 2^nd time they would have sprayed, and even though we have a young child and do have a responsibility for making sure the chemicals used from the spray will not be harmful, we reluctantly allowed IMT to have its exterminator treat our unit for a 2^nd time causing us to have to leave the unit for more the 5 hours until the chemicals were supposed to not be harmful.
Well, the 2^nd treatment didn’t work, not only did not work, we started having more roach sightings. We have determined that it appears the roaches are either coming into our unit through vents, drains or cracks in the baseboards from either other units or from a roach nest located somewhere in between the walls in the building and based on the size and frequency of the roaches, this property appears of had a roach infestation long before we moved in. We tried to fight this uninhabitable roaches by laying down more the 20 roach bait traps, and these are the kind that are supposed to kill the nests and we have put down other roach killing powder substances. We also started taking pictures of the roach sightings as often as we could, and have posted them on this review. Due to the roaches trying to scatter once we see them, we have not been able to capture every sighting.
We are trying to move ASAP, but we also have to be careful before we move to our belongings to make sure there aren’t any roaches that try to hitch a ride, otherwise we will be throwing personal items away because no one wants to take roaches with them anywhere. We asked talk to their contracted exterminator to find out the best ways we can ensure not brining any hitch hiking roaches once we move. We also asked IMT to also agree to reimburse us for anything that we may have to throw away and they will not agree to this.
Since we have had to endure roaches for that past two months and allowed IMT to try and spray and even went ahead and paid rent for the second month to give them a chance to cure the problem, roaches are still entering our unit. So we asked the management for a refund for the 2 months that we have paid them, totaling approximately $ 3,170.00
As of right now, our request for a full refund was denied, not only have we not been offered a full refund but as far as relocation goes, IMT has only offered to relocate us to another unit «on the property»…why would be want to be relocated anywhere on the site of this place and stand the chance of finding more roaches waiting to infiltrate our belongings? They also want to nuke our unit but we have given them a chance to fix the problem internally and it hasn’t worked because the infestation is obviously coming from somewhere outside of our unit. I even suggested IMT treat the neighbors unit and perhaps consider exterminating in between the property’s walls because it is apparent that there is a serious roach infestation problem at this property.
I gave the staff a 1 star because while the leasing associates did what they could, they’re new and it appears the manager and whomever is involved with the major decision making at IMT properties does not appreciate or fully understand the severity of the roach problem we have had to endure and this has caused IMT to refuse to refund our money or offer to pay for a short-​term relocation expense at a hotel while we figure out to treat our personal property and IMT also has declined to reimburse us for any belongings that we may have to throw out.
Renter’s Beware!

I loved staying here for two years and hate that I am moving! The apartments were clean, safe and very close to great restaurants and all things Dallas. Also, Misty was great and added much needed change to previous management. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking to move in the area!

My apartment experience and knowledge is vast, and I have rarely (if ever) walked away from a complex with a good taste in my mouth. As far as that notion is concerned, I always held that suspended feeling inside until the time when «move-​out» occurred.
Having said that, IMT Lakeshore Lofts is an excellent place to reside. The entire staff is excellent, and highly reliable and prompt, IE: Kenneth is always courteous, upbeat and ready to lend a hand with a package to your car, or whatever the situation may require. To locate an apartment staff like this is throughly rare and basically unheard of.
The location could not be any better, and the views are absolutely spectacular. The most amazing thing about IMT is the internal structure and design — no sounds are ever heard unless fellow residents are walking past your door.

My partner, myself, and our two year old put in an application for a 2 bedroom apartment here and were approved. We were told by the manager (Misty) that we could transfer to a 3 bedroom if one became available. One became available, so we spoke to two leasing agents (Ken and Denora) and asked them to put the apartment on a temporary hold for us so we could see it as we signed the lease, etc. We were approved, as far as we knew, for a temporary hold. The apartment was supposed to be ready on the 1^st which turned into the 3^rd which then tuned into the 7^th. By the time the 7^th rolled around, we called (as we had been each day) to see when we could see the apartment and sign the papers so we could move in. We called and they then informed us that the apartment had been leased to someone else via the corporate office’s online website. We have now been informed that corporate will not give us our application fees nor admin fees back even though this was their mistake. This is an issue as we were told the apartment would be put on hold for us until we could look at it and lease it on the spot. Further, we were told that my fees would be waived as I am a teacher at a local college and, yet, now they’re saying that they will be keeping the application and admin fees (and whatever else we paid) for themselves. I do not recommend renting with this company as, clearly, they do not care much for making sure their future tenants are happy. It is sad because we were so excited to move in here, and now we have to find a new place. We will not be doing business with IMT.
UPDATE:
IMT’s manager got back with us and worked together to realized the miscommunications that occurred. They refunded all monetary commitments we had made toward an apartment at IMT Lakeshore Lofts.

My family (husband and one year old baby) have been living here for 2 months now and we love it here! The area is amazing, so peaceful, close to all the conveniences and perfect place to go have a run around the lake. The staff is doing a great job and are really nice. They did a lot for us to get into our apartment on time (we had to live our apartment hotel) and makes our life easier everyday!

I strongly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a quite, clean & resort-​style neighborhood. We moved to this apartment 3 months ago and we are really happy in it, Office team (especially Dinora who is our contact person) are very nice, professional and respond fast to any service request. The location is amazing especially the convenience of having lake walk just few feet far from your apartment. Amenities are great and clean, all grills just replaced with new nice one that we use all the time to grill our dinner. The only thing they need to improve is their package receive system, they are suppose to send us emails every time they receive a package delivered to us but it doesn’t always happen and that’s why we have to keep track of every order delivery time and date then go to the office ask for it. At the end I still recommend this apartment over any other one.

Four months ago, I moved into IMT Lakeshore. Ken was the Senior Leasing Consultant that helped me sign my lease. He is professional, courteous and ensures you have a wonderful experience during your stay. I love the modern feel of the apartment. With the exception of an occasional DART train horn, the apartments are pretty quiet. Unlike a lot of apartments in this area, the garage is gated and there are ample parking spots. The maintenance department is great. Requests can be submitted online and usually completed within a few days. In essence, IMT is a great place to call home.

I have lived here for over a year. The management staff and company changed a few months ago and it has been a great improvement. The accommodations are just beautiful. I love living here and the lake view makes it that much better.
