True Air Mechanical

This company has come to my home 3x for the same problem. My problem still is not fixed. The wrong parts have been ordered. They have had to get approval from the builder who I finally had to call to get him to call them. No follow thru from office. I had to call them to remind them to order the part. Then they ordered the wrong part. I don’t know how this company is still in business. I would rather have someone else complete the work. Don’t feel like I can trust them!!!
3÷1÷16 company came to complete work. Tech that showed up didn’t know why he was there. After I explained what he needed to complete he went back looked at unit. He then proceeded to tell me it wasn’t under warranty and there was nothing he could do. He then after being there for 5 min asked for payment. Lol really. He left after I refused to pay. Called the office he returned 30 min later and fixed the problem. This could have been completed with a phone call the first time or the paperwork for the tech. Communication people never hurt anyone.

True air mechanical was terrific. Jose was on time, exceptionally polite, friendly and thorough.
All of my air conditioning units were brought back to new condition and every filter was replaced with the washable type. He even ensured the attic area was free of dust. Highly recommend Jose and True Air. Ps their quote was $ 200 less than another company I called.

Daniel was very nice and came 30 min before our scheduled appointment time of 730am. He had to drove all the way to San Diego since his company his contracted with our builder. He even upgraded our thermostat, which we are very grateful.

We needed our AC system to be replaced as the original system with the house wasn’t working anymore (30+ years old). A friend recommended we go through True Air and we are so happy we did. I called True Air in the middle of one of the many Heat waves we’ve had this year. They schedule Glen to come two days later. He arrived promptly, and was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The quote we received was comparable to the quotes we got from other companies, so we decided to go with them considering our friend’s recommendation. A couple days after that, the installation team arrived and performed the installation in a timely manner. Our brand new, energy efficient system has performed flawlessly since, and our house has never been more comfortable. This was one of the best investments I’ve made in a long time. I highly recommend True Air.

Amanda, how can you say «wow that is so not true» when it’s true for these people? Glad you had a good experience. During the height of the last heat wave with triple digits my air wasn’t working 100%…I could not get my upstairs below 85*. It took 2 weeks to get the appointment. I’m not going to knock the technician, he did fine, and he was timely. However, my system had a bad TXV. Technician said it would probably take a week to get… IN TRIPLE DIGITS? Because I’m in the same industry at the commercial level, I called my own vendors and located the parts in 10 minutes sitting on the shelf in both, Irwindale and Irvine. I called the office and asked if I picked up the part MYSELF, my vendor will warranty it, if they could please get the tech back the next day… I was dying. I was told no because they had to follow proper protocol for warranty purposes, but assured me (STEPHANIE) that it wouldn’t take a week. Well guess what? One week and one day later they were back. Right in the middle of another triple digit heat wave. Again, the technician did a fine job, and was here at 7 am as stated. But waiting 3 weeks in triple digits is DEPLORABLE!

We recently had a new heating and air conditioning system installed to replace our old system. We were referred to Glen by a friend. We called Glen and met with him to discuss the cost of a new system. We had already received quotes on a new system and wanted to get a comparable quote. He gave us a very competitive quote on equipment and installation. We discussed repair versus replacement and various systems and their efficiencies. He was knowledgable and informative. The installers arrived about 20mins. before we expected them and went right to work laying down drop cloths and getting started. Brian has 21 years experience and Aaron has 10 years. Brian was very knowledgeable and made a couple of additional suggestions that were not made previously. They were very thorough, clean and did an amazing job. Both my husband and I were very pleased with their work. We would recommend this company and especially the installers to others. The only hiccup for us was that we did not throughly investigate the cost of asbestos removal. Each company that provided an air conditioning quote had told us that we needed a separate company for the asbestos removal. The rates were similar and we thought the company we were referred to would be in that ballpark. They were 35% higher, but it was too late to make a change as it would have delayed our A/​C installation. The abatement removers were friendly, good workers and thorough. The price was our complaint.

The quality of service — both in terms of promptness and the ability to actually fix a problem is among the worst I’ve ever experienced in the service industry… and that’s saying a lot. True Air installed the air conditioning system in our house (new house bought in 2014). When we did our walkthrough prior to moving in, the air conditioning system was broken. That’s right, a brand new air conditioning system was broken. Luckily they fixed whatever was wrong prior to our move-​in.
They’ve been out twice over the last year — air wasn’t flowing properly in our son’s room and it was hot as hell. Also, water was leaking out of the back-​up drain, which means the primary line was blocked. This was in February, and guess what — the next time we ran the A/​C in July, it was leaking out of the back-​up drain again. I was fuming that they did not fix it properly. True Air definitely does not have a «do it right the first time» philosophy.
It took them a few days just to call me to set up an appointment, and the first time they had available was a week later. Luckily it wasn’t too hot. I think they know that since they installed and warranted the system, that they can jerk me around and there’s not a whole lot I can do about it because if I go to a competitor, I have to pay for it.
OK — here’s what makes my blood boil. They gave me a service window of 7 – 10 in the morning. At 10:15, I called their office because they hadn’t showed up and the moron of a technician said he was running late and would be in the Lake Forest area around 1pm. He ended up showing up after 5pm when I was about to take my sons for a walk. I asked him why no one from their office called to say they were running late and he gave me an absolute bullshit answer that they have two phone numbers on file and maybe they called my home number. Hmm — being that I was at home, I would have seen the phone ringing. Missed the window by six hours.
I told the guy to buzz off and I called my builder rep and demanded that he get a different company to fix my A/​C. I had to really bust his balls, but he relented and got another company out and they actually fixed the problem. He said that the slope of the primary drain line was the problem and it wasn’t angled enough, so the water was draining out of the back-​up line. Will you look at that?
I’m puzzled that True AIr is able to stay in business when they operate like this. Maybe most of their clientele are «captive» customers like me? You can bet your ass I won’t be doing business with True Air when my warranty expires. Avoid at all costs. Absolute total fuc%@ng joke of a business.

If you have any other options, please take them.
I contacted this company to set up a service appointment. The earliest time slot I could get was a week away. I rearranged my schedule and agreed to a Friday morning slot. A couple days before my appointment they changed my appointment time to a 2−5pm slot. Again, I rearranged my schedule and was told there would be no further changes. At around 4pm on Friday, I called the company to find out where the technician was and was told he wouldn’t be available for at least 1.5 hours. I never received a heads up. I canceled.
Candidly, I’m glad they couldn’t even bother to keep an appointment because God only knows what kind of mess they would have made if they actually got their hands on my AC.

I hired Tru Air Mechanical to install my A/​C unit and furnace. I initially met with Glen who was very helpful and informative. I was extremely impressed with Bryan and Aaron who did all of the work. They showed up on time, the installation went smoothly and was done within one days work. They answered many questions and went above and beyond in all areas. The clean up was great as well. I would highly recommend this company to do any of you your A/​C and furnace needs. Ask for Bryan and Aaron!

Like the previous posters said, «beware» and «really bad service».
I purchased a house in Playa Vista and True Air was the subcontractor. Our house is still covered under warranty, and today when we looked up into a vent we found a pack of Kool cigarettes! Of course we were dismayed but assumed we would receive an apology and True Air would remove. BUT NO! True Air says that this is not covered under warranty and will not affect the performance of our unit.

For several months my electricity bill surged nearly 3 times the norm. I couldn’t figure it out so I gave in and called True Air. Pete G. systematically figured out the problem and he took the time to make sure there weren’t any other problems. He kept me informed the entire time. Pete is seriously the best technician — he is polite, very respectful, honest and thorough. I will definitely call them again for heating/​ac issues!

Great service and installation. This summer, True Air replaced our entire heating and air conditioning. Glen Nichols, their rep did a great job of handling the overall install plan and follow-​up. He did not «over sell «us on anything not needed, but made sure that our needs were addressed. Glen probably made at least 5 visits to our home to check on the progress of work. I interviewed three companies and trusted Glen and True Air best. The installation was great. Brian, the chief installer, was very courteous; easy to work with; a very detailed perfectionist and stressed that same ethic with his assistants. This was confirmed when we had the post install inspection from the city of Anaheim building inspector. I was told that the install was professional and in some cases installed to commercial specs. The compressor started to make a strange sound after 2 months and they replaced it with a new one immedialey without any problems. I would have posted a 5 star review, but follow-​up calls to their office sometimes required 2 or more phone calls or calls were not always returned.(I know that this summer was very hot and busy). I would highly recommend Brian, Glen and True Air to anyone that wishes to obtain the best AC install possible for the most fair price. GREAT JOB !!

Really bad service — this company schedules at 7 am but office doesn’t open till 8 am so no one can help if no one shows up at 7am… today is a reschedule because last week my schedule was between 7am to 12 pm and True Air Mechanical mentioned the tech person will be in Fullerton at 9am — so why are you scheduling me between 7am to 12 pm… ok so 10:45am I get a call that the tech will be running late and will be here between 12 pm to 2pm! I was pissed!
I cannot take a whole day off from work on a scheduled appointment.. if your service is with this company because of a warranty. .I am sorry for you but if you have a choice go with someone else!

Beware!!! I recently moved in to a new home built by Lennar. I was getting concrete put in the backyard so I wanted to have the AC removed and reinstalled after the concrete was poured. Lennar contracted this company to install the AC units so to maintain my warranty I contacted them to do the job. The price was high but I went with them anyways just because I figured that it would be done right and I did not want to cut corners.
When they showed up to uninstall everything seemed like it went fine. The concrete company poured the next day. When I went out to water the concrete the day following the pour, I noticed that the pipes from where the AC goes in to the wall had dripped a large puddle all over my concrete. They did not cap or bend the pipes to prevent this.
When I called and spoke to the supervisor she did not offer an apology but did arrange for someone to come out and clean the spill a couple days after the reinstall was scheduled to happen. I called and confirmed the appointment twice before the day came. The day came and I was patiently waiting for their arrival. I had scheduled at 7am so that I would not be that late to work. After 2 hours I called them to find out what had happened and was given the answer of «oh, looks like we did not put you on the calendar.» They told me that they could schedule for tomorrow. Are you kidding me? Like I have unlimited can be late cards. I asked for the supervisor to call me back and was told she would when she came in about 30 minutes after my call.
Another couple hours passed and still nothing. I called back and asked to speak to her. They said that she was in a meeting but they could schedule me for Thursday. I told them that would be fine but I would like the supervisor to call me. I also told them that I would like for the owner to call me as well.
Guess what, neither of them ever called. No apology and the stain never fully went away. The next review will be going to Lennar.

The service technician Brian was very conscientious; placed tarps in the work area, keeping her home spotless while completing his tasks. From my initial consultation with True-​Air through to the completion of installation, I am very pleased. Glen was very professional when he came to provide a quote for the installation of air. He explained what would be done and how the charges were applied. I received quotes from 3 different places and decided to go with True-​Air for their rates and customer service.
The installers, Brian and Aaron were great. They were both very professional and friendly. After observation and some conversation it is evident that Brian is meticulous about his work. After everything was installed, I was taken on a tour to view the finished product. Even though it’s copper, insulation, coils, vents and condensers it should present very well. My furnace/​cooling system looks great in its closet! But most of all it feels wonderful.

These guys are excellent. Very professional, knowledgeable and know their HVAC systems. They came by a few times to fine tune my new HVAC system. We have a more complex system with air filtration. They got it working nicely and were able to resolve minor issues under warranty.

We recently had them install ac in a house that had never had ac before. They also replaced our furnace. It ended up being a bigger job than expected but they handled everything promptly and thoroughly. They did a superb job and have gone above and beyond to make sure I am happy. Very competitive pricing, and Glen was honest and didn’t try to sell me stuff I didn’t need. I am planning a remodel and won’t use anyone else for the air needs in the new space.

Glen came over and gave me a quote on a new furnace and coil. His price was very competitive with other companies, yet he was installing better appliances.
The furnace was installed just a few days later. The techs were very friendly and productive. The price was as promised and they did excellent work.
