Let me begin with a hearty thank you to you and your extremely professional staff for the recent complete home HVAC system replacement, upgrade, zoning & controls, and commissioning. This project started with Anthony — who truly listened to our requirements, understand our need to add zones to our home, and his ability to develop proper load calculations and models using the Carrier units best matched for our home, lifestyle, and interest in energy efficiency. His proposal was on target and he worked with us to refine it further as the full scope of zoning was better understood. We really appreciated Anthony’s honesty, integrity, commitment to the project, and tenacity in sticking with the project from beginning all the way through the HERS testing.
I want to also recognize Christina who kept us in constant communication and your world class installation crew of Mike, Kevin, and Carlos who were polite, always on time, and CLEAN!!! (I wish more contractors were as neat, clean, and caring about our home and wood floors as your crew.) Ron, the new ductwork these guys built on-​site was of amazing quality. Mike, Kevin, and Carlos always showed a high degree of attention to detail. The proof was in the HERS test as the completed system performed flawlessly with less than 6% total leakage!
To say that my wife and I are delighted with our new Carrier Performance /​Infinity 4-​ton HVAC system would be a tremendous understatement. We now wake up to a warm house without the annoying blast of super-​heated, dry air we used to put up with in our old system. With the zone controls we can bring the downstairs temperature up 2 degrees in the morning while allowing those remaining in bed upstairs to sleep peacefully. We then bring the upstairs zone temperature up later once everyone.
Smartly the cooling zone controls have achieved exactly what we were looking for as the system now delivers the volume of cold air exactly where we want it, when we want it, and perhaps most importantly quietly without blasting us in the face or back of the neck. In addition the outside condenser is not only very nice looking but far quieter than the unit we replaced. Frankly I think this Carrier condenser is one of the quietest home units I have heard in a long time.

I just wanted to say thank you for the AC unit. We love it and it works great. Your recommendation was exactly what we were looking for. It is quiet and cools the house down quickly. Your crew was fantastic and kept things clean. They showed up when the said they would. I love what they did in the attic. Of all the contractors I have ever worked with, and I have worked with a lot, this was the best experience I have had all the way around. Thank you very much.

The reason I gave it 1 star rating is because the company doesn’t stand behind the agreement I had with my sales person, James Maloney. He quit and I am now left with a contract that the owner won’t honor. I worked with James before on another project and use him again for this new project. We finalized the contract and I was waiting to get HOA approval. James’ bid was higher than the other bids I received, which I forwarded to him. I asked that he include the patching that will be created by new AC lines and screen to cover the condenser as required by the association since his price is a considerably higher. His reply to me in writing was «I might be able to work with you on this, what is the HOA requiring for the screening?». With that, to me is he agreed and we proceeded with him helping me submit all the necessary paperwork. I am now approved, he is gone, and the owner said that patching is not included and the he won’t do screen, even after I sent all the emails exchange between James and I. I had another job already lined up for them too. So NO, I will not use them.

I wanted to share my experience with McMaster Heating & Air. Last December I decided to replace my furnace and A/​C unit as my original furnace went out after 45 years of service. I worked with James Maloney on the pre-​sales side and picked the top of the line furnace, A/​C and Filtration system offered by Carrier. The products were all installed in one day’s time. That said, there was some minor damage done to my crown molding during the installation of new vents/​returns. Ron McMaster the Owner, got involved and brought in a contractor to fix my crown molding immediately. This was done within 2 days of my system being installed. Furthermore, Ron the Owner came out to fit my vents/​returns personally around the crown molding to ensure that the finish work was impeccable. This type of Customer Service is something that most companies lack in this day and age. I would HIGHLY recommend Ron McMaster and his company for your heating and cooling needs. They are the only contractor out of 5 that I received bids from, that do proper testing before and after installation to ensure my system is as efficient as possible. They also processed all rebates on my behalf making the experience all that more enjoyable. Thanks to the whole McMaster’s team for all of their hard work and dedication to my satisfaction!

I recently had McMaster air replace my older a/​c and furnace with newer more efficient units, what a difference why didn’t I do this sooner! I highly recommend them.

McMaster air is the worst heating and air company in Orange County, California. We used this company because they were a So Cal Edison dealer in which you receive a rebate for using the company. However it was the worst decision I have made. We just had a whole new central air system installed in our home prior to summer. A few days ago we ran the air for the first time since the install and we wake up to an inch of water in my house which ruined my hard wood floors. Come to find out the new central air system was leaking water from the 2^nd story attic. When McMaster installed our new central air system they used all the old connections and piping which is 20 years old. Right away we called McMaster air to have a tech come out to investigate the problem, the tech was there for maybe 10 minutes, did not turn on the air and concluded that it was not there problem that we needed to call a plumber. He then handed us a $ 99 service charge invoice… FOR WHAT???
Come to find out the leak was from the primary drain line from our newly installed by MCMaster Air central AC system primary drain line. We called McMaster air out for the 2^nd time to fix the leak which was leaking from our newly installed central AC system by McMaster air. McMaster Air sent a tech that eventually fixed the leak and after he fixed the leak attempted to hand us $ 150 service charge invoice after we just paid them thousands of dollars to put in a new system with all new pipes and hoses. The bigger issue here is we have mold and ruined hard wood floors/​walls with water damage!

Long overdue in writing this review. It has been about a year since McMaster put in our new air conditioning and heating system. I have been in the commercial air conditioning and energy management field my whole career so I feel I am a knowledgeable buyer. We had four companies look at replacing our older air conditioning system. Three of them took the square footage of the house and quoted us a standard size for the square footage.
McMaster took a scientific approach, did an actual load calculation and determined a better placement for the furnace/​air conditioner. The result is they were able to significantly downsize the system lowering the cost of the system while improving performance by eliminating the air leaks to the system from our house due to the prior poor placement of the system.
It cost more but they were able to get us significant rebates from Carrier and SCE that offset the cost. They stayed on top of the project and SCE to make sure we got the performance they guaranteed and the rebate amount from SCE.
The bottom line is we have a very comfortable house and our electric bill has been cut in half! We recommend McMaster highly.

We used McMaster to replace our HVAC and they were amazing. Our heater broke during the coldest part of the winter and the crew worked really hard to get the new system installed as quickly as they could. In fact, they stayed until 7:00 on New Year’s Eve so that we would have heat on New Year’s Day. The crew is great and all of Ron’s leads are experts at what they do. We got several quotes and I feel like McMaster was the most honest in terms of what we needed, and we ended up saving money. Don’t go anywhere else for your HVAC needs.

I got estimates from 7 different vendors. McMaster was not the most expensive nor was it the least expensive. However, they were the most thorough and professional. I found them by searching for the Carrier website for Carrier dealers. I also read their reviews on Angies List and Unilocal.I’m very happy with my decision to use McMaster.
They installed a new furnace and AC unit for me.
All of the 3^rd party testing came out with flying colors and the system is working well.
I even had them change out the new thermostat with a fancier one and did not receive any pushback or compliant. They were very accommodating.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to upgrade their system.

We used McMaster to replace our old FAU — A/​C unit on our home in Portola Hills several years ago. We were very happy with the service and equipment, and loved how quiet and energy efficient our new unit was.
We recently purchased a home in need of major renovation in Laguna Niguel. James, Anthony, and crew were extremely helpful — we relocated the unit from the garage to the attic, put all new ducting throughout the home, and installed a new a/​c unit on the side of the house.
I’ve recommended McMaster Air to neighbors in the past, and will gladly do so again in our new neighborhood.

DO NOT USE! completely negligent with work. This company came out to our vacant rental townhouse to check all the heating and air systems. Paid $ 195 for «maintenance». They came out, looked, said everything looked good. When renters arrived, they noticed water underneath AC unit and water dumping out of the «excess pipe into the driveway. When I called to schedule a revisit, they said they would have to charge a service call. I told them the unit had not been used and they had just been out to check it and had said everything was fine. They said, they had done their «work» for the «maintenance», but another visit would require a service charge. I said no thanks and went with another company with great Unilocal reviews. that was the best choice I’ve made. New company came out and wrote:
found drain clogged under the sink upstairs from the condensation connection. lots of standing water and a dirty filter that had not been changed. disconnected drain under sink and cleared major clog and cleaned surrounding areas. removed 2 gallons of standing water total 1 gallons was in the auxiliary pan underneath the unit in the attic.
New company said changing the filter should clearly be part of a «maintenance» call. and couldn’t believe another company had come out and told us the system was «good».

This review is way past due. As I should have put this up earlier. I know homeowners will agree with me when I say that finding a good contractor is no easy task. We have all been there. Company seems good upfront but the work quickly become sub par, phone call don’t get returned, and it seems that you start to get nickeled and dimed after they start the job. Not to mention those times that we want to try to save a buck and it turns out to be a horrible mistake.
This company is none of the above. Let me start out by saying I work in the trade industry. I do container crane maintenance and do considerable amount of electrical and mechanical work also including air conditioning. I take great pride in what I do and it shows in my work so i expect it to show in a contractors work in my house.
In order to keep well trained and educated employees you have to provide them with a career not just a job. You have to follow the rules and McMaster does just that. They are not the company that pay there guys under the table with no benefits. These guys have uniforms, workman’s comp, training, ect… because when a guy is working in a 120° attic shoved in the corner you want him taking pride it what he does and not just throwing it together.
I had a full a/​c system installed in my house and had several quotes. Some of the contractors just walked in my house came up with a size unit took 15 mins and Gave me a quote. (This was Costco) McMaster did a full load calculation based on my house and gave me a emailed quote the next day. After meeting all contractors and with my background i knew hands down no question about it that I was going with McMasters.
Theses guys are honest and top notch. Use them you will not regret it. Out of all the contractors I have had ever work on my house and looking at every aspect of a great contractor i have to say I was most impressed with McMasters heating and air conditioning

From start to finish, McMasters fulfilled every promise. They were prompt, professional, respectful of my home and furnishings, friendly and polite, and delivered a quiet, efficient heating and air conditioning system that far exceeds our expectations. The new unit is exponentially quieter, more efficient, easier to program than the old one, and we are very satisfied with the decision we made.
We had several other quotes, but James at M.M. was the only rep who suggested personal, specific solutions to our noise and air flow problems. They redesigned and replaced our ducts, replaced all our vents, and enlarged some of them to give us a wonderful new system. I highly recommend them — they are as good as it gets!

We just replaced our two 20-​year old 3-​ton air-​conditioning system units with top-​of-​the-​line 2-​ton Carrier Air Conditioning/​furnace Units. The contractor we used was McMaster Air & Heat in Irvine, CA. We couldn’t be more pleased with the services they provided. All the people we dealt with are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and competent.
This was a four-​day job that included an initial leak test, load calcs, complete attic reducting (including new air returns in multiple rooms), new compressors, post-​install leak test, etc. They arrived everyday on time, and left the house very clean.
The Tustin City inspector was very impressed with the work done, and signed off the inspection in minutes. Our house leakage went from 7ft0 to 1.9ft0 — below the required number of 2.1ft0 allowing us to get all possible energy rebates. Overall, a great job!

James, the salesperson was very professional and educated me on a number of available options. He clearly answered my several pages of questions. He provided a thorough proposal with all of the details and price options. I interviewed five companies for installation of double HVAC systems and McMaster was clearly the best choice.
The installation team were also very professional, mannerly and kept me informed throughout the installation. They were very efficient and focused to install the units correctly. I tend to be a person who is very particular on how things are done and I was very pleased at the pride of workmanship they demonstrated. Very rare these days. I can tell that Mc Master has worked on instilling customer into every employee and it showed. I very much appreciated the extremely high level of customer service. Even the city inspector who checked the job afterwards commented on how well the job had been completed. Well done !!

Came to my house, told me all the things I need to do for my house to be energy efficient. He said he would send me an email on different options, never did follow-​up with me and I ended up going to Home Depot and bought an AC unit from them.

They installed Carrier Infinity A/​C unit. We love it. This company has the best price and the best quality A/​C unit.
