Mimi Nguyen Photography

We adore Mimi! We loved her the moment we met with her and sat down to discuss the packages. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable at our engagement and wedding photos. She has a good energy about her and is very responsive to emails. Not to mention that she stayed a little extra longer at our wedding just to capture the celebration for our wedding. We truly appreciate her hard work and professionalism. Now my sister is using Mimi for her senior photos. Hope to use Mimi again for future events.

I cannot express how effortless and easy Mimi was to work with! One of my smartest and BEST decision was to hire her to capture our wedding. My husband is especially camera shy and although I like taking pictures, we were in no way prepared to take «modeled» shots for our engagement and wedding photos. Mimi was so kind and patient giving us cues and what to do for our pictures to turn out great for each occasion.
Mimi’s wedding package was very reasonable compared to the other quotes I received. She was on top of all of our communications and was very helpful on the wedding day itself by getting my rowdy wedding party in line and taking amazing shots of them! On the wedding day she had another photographer to assist her and it was a breeze for Jeff and I. We did not feel rushed or bombarded. Also, I would like to think I fall into the relax and easy going bride category as I didn’t ask for specific shots but just a set time to take photos of the immediate family before the reception and I do not regret having not done so because Mimi captured everything! From the tiniest décor detail to the most sentimental moments during the wedding celebration.
I can’t thank you enough Mimi for being such a caring and kind professional that captured our wedding in such beautiful and long lasting photos!

Mimi is the best photographer I have ever worked with. I model full time and when I decided to get married, Mimi was the one besides my wife Thy. She is professional and has everything planned done to the t. Feel confident she will be at your wedding and take the best photos of your first, second, or third wedding.

Mimi Photography could be named Awesome and Amazing Photography, because that is what she is about and that’s where your going to get.
She kept great communication with us and answered a ton of questions we had about the photo shoot. Everything from what to wear, where to take the photos, etc, she provided us great information and feedback.
During the photoshoot for our engagement photos, me and my fiancé was a little nervous because we have never had professional photos taken of us. Mimi was extremely cool and eased our nerves. She took her time with each photo and made us feel more comfortable with each shot. She spent a ton of time with us during the shot and did not make us feel rushed at all. She was really extremely sincere in trying to capture the best possible picture of us.
After the photo shoot was over, she told us that the pictures were going to be available in a few days. A few days later, we received her amazing photos. Everyone we showed the pictures to gave us wonderful feedback on how great the photos looked. We couldn’t be more appreciative and thankful that we got such a fantastic photographer and incredible photos. We knew we were going to get something good, but she went way beyond what we had expected.

Mimi, I gave you credit where credit is due as you provide decent work at decent pricing but that will never justify poor quality service. Therefore, let’s be professional & HONEST, qualities which I think you need to improve on.
It doesn’t count as phone tag when I am the only one making the calls. If I received any voicemail, why would I call her 6x if you had ever touched base with me once? There was no voicemail from her. If I asked her not to call in the evening, why couldn’t she have called during the normal business hours from 8am-​5pm?
Anyway, on Nov 24^th Mimi emailed me (because she never called me, not once) that she was available on Dec 8^th. On Nov 26^th around 2:30pm, I replied via email some questions I had for her & that I want to secure Dec 8. On Nov 26^th around 10pm, I replied again saying I want to lock that date in, so please confirm. On Nov 27^th around 11am, she answered my questions & said she also had Dec 7^th open as well. That same day, I replied back to her email saying that I would take the apt for Dec 8^th & asked if she could have just ONE pic ready for my husband (not all 500−600pics as I knew I was on a time crunch & trying to be considerate of her). Please keep in mind, I left this lady multiple voicemails that I would be cancelling other apt since I told her in writing I would be taking this date. On Nov 28^th, she all of a sudden says her schedule is quite busy & tries referring me to someone else.
The reason I say that she deceived me is because she emailed me her availability on Nov 24^th and on Nov 27^th. I put in writing on the 26^th I wanted that date. How is it that on the 28^th she has no availability when she just told me she did? Tell me from the start that you have no availability rather than leading me to believe dates are an option when clearly they aren’t. Also, how could money ever have been exchanged? This would require Mimi to pick up the phone & call me, something she never did. In summary, don’t say there’s availability when there isn’t; be courteous & actually call clients back; do your best to try & accommodate their needs rather than just brush them off to another photographer (so rude); learn how to take accountability rather than blame clients for your shortcomings.

LOOOOOVED Mimi as our photographer — we used her for our engagement pictures and our event. She was WONDERFUL!!! We absolutely love our photos. She has a talent to capture the perfect moments, knows how to pose you… makes you feel comfortable and keeps you constantly laughing… you can just be you in pictures. She was also great at getting detail shots, making sure I don’t miss any pictures with friends or family… she was even able to direct people away so we can get our couple shots alone. I cannot recommend her enough and plan to use her in the future for any occasion/​family portraits. Thank you Mimi for everything!!! You were more than I could ask for & you should charge a lot more!!!

I knew the moment I started wedding planning that photography was a priority and that choosing the right photographer for the job was crucial. And I did not go wrong by choosing Mimi. She was always professional, quick to answer, and was so easy to talk to.
I wanted a nature-​themed engagement session and she quickly shot back with multiple beautiful locations to choose from. The engagement session was so much fun because she directed us in a way that was natural, easy, and uninhibited. The photos were given to us the next day and they were all perfect!
When it got closer to our wedding day, Mimi worked with my wedding coordinator to nail down timelines to ensure I was getting the most of the hours I had paid for. On the day of the wedding, her and her team arrived on time, got all of the shots I requested on my shot list, and did much more. She really wore many hats that day by making sure we stuck to our timeline, fixed my hair and makeup, even moved furniture around in our hotel room to ensure the best shots. Our wedding photos, all 1600 of them were amazing and it was so hard choosing photos for our professional album. When I look at the photos, it made me cry all over again because she captured the emotion and happiness of my day.
If you’re looking for non-​cheesy photos, perfect lighting, and a professional photographer, you will get that with Mimi and much more. I have wedding photos that will last me a lifetime.

My husband and I hired Mimi for our wedding based on her highly rated Unilocal reviews and the great impression she made when we met with her. We chose one of her photo packages, which included an engagement session, edited photos from the engagement session as well as the wedding, two shooters during the wedding, and a photo album. I originally didn’t want to do an engagement session, but I’m so glad we did, as it gave us the opportunity to work with Mimi before the wedding. We got those photos back very quickly (about a week after the shoot), and they turned out beautifully.
Mimi was really professional, punctual, friendly and easy to work with, and we appreciated the guidance she gave us during our two photoshoots. She told us what she wanted us to do without being bossy, and her directions were so helpful. We definitely remembered and used her advice during our wedding, and it made us feel more comfortable and confident. We also got a lot of compliments from our wedding party and guests, all of whom said great things about working with Mimi and her assistant. (I can’t remember his name, but he was an excellent photographer and super nice, too.) Our venue didn’t provide a full-​service coordinator, so Mimi stepped in and kept us on schedule during the reception without being asked to do so. If not for her, we wouldn’t have known where to go when, so it was a huge help having her there.
I am so happy we worked with Mimi, as her photos are gorgeous and just our style. We wanted to look like ourselves but better, and that’s exactly what happened! I’ve already recommended Mimi to our soon-​to-​be engaged friends, and my husband and I would love to work with her again one day when we have children.

I have loved Mimi’s work even before I was engaged so it was a no brainer on who I was going to pick for our photographer when I was engaged. Mimi shot our engagement shoot and wedding day and did a phenomenal job! She is creative, patient, and really easy to work with. I am not a picture person but she made myself and husband feel really comfortable. We are so pleased with the final product and definitely recommend her services for your big day or event. She’s a busy lady though so make sure you plan ahead!

Mimi was so accommodating with my last minute request even though she had a jam packed week/​end. She really made our photo session fun and enjoyable. Mimi is the greatest! So great, I had to come back from my two year absence on Unilocal to review her services.
I was introduced to her work through a mutual friend and instantly fell in love with her style. So when the day came when I got engaged (and hell didn’t freeze over) she was the first vendor I contacted.
Throughout the entire process from the booking, the emails, to the engagement session, to the actual wedding day… Mimi was such an absolute pleasure to work with. Really there aren’t enough adjectives in my vocabulary to describe how awesome and professional she is.
But what I most appreciate about Mimi Nguyen is how she manages to capture our personalities through the photos. While our wedding isn’t close to anything you’ll see on Style Me Pretty, she captured the details and moments that really described who we are.
Mimi, thank you for your talent and patience, and for being so accommodating. I’ll probably come back to Unilocal to review future portrait sessions and events :)

Wow Mimi gets to pop my Unilocal Cherry! I figure I might as well start writing them since I’m constantly reading everyone else’s reviews concerning restaurants, hair salons, etc… Plus Mimi was so awesome i just had to write a review! We had our family photo-​shoot with her on Oct. 15 at a nearby park. She made the simple park look as if we were in some forest. And Less than a month later we already received our edited images in the mail! The pictures all look so… AMAZING!
She is so talented and made the whole experience fun and easy. I have 2 boys, a 2 year old and 7 month old so I knew it would be a challenge! Mimi is such a pro at making you feel comfortable. My 2 year old can be very difficult and not very friendly but she was actually able to get him to come out of his shell and captured so many precious moments. We are so thankful she was able to capture so many wonderful memories for us. She definitely has an artistic eye and a natural approach to her photography. We are big fans now and plan on using her next year again.

Now, the reasons why I believe she’s the best is because she is one of the most sweetest people I’ve ever met. She was kind, patient and went the extra mile for my wife and me. She shot my best friend’s wedding where I was the best man, and yes, she was consistently kind, patient and went the extra mile for them. She’s an amazing soul. She was easy to contact, honest with us, and came through on all her obligations.
Her skills are rather amazing, too. Our pictures came out very clean and sharp. She took boring locations and made them into something we did not see. For example, there was a few tall plants in the middle of a parking lot. She asked if we could take some shots there. When we got the pictures back, it looked like we were in Sicily.
My wife and I have already discussed that we would renew our vows in 2014. The only vendor we want is Mimi Nguyen. We’ve already booked her from what my wife tells me, haha.

Where do we start?! Mimi shot our recent engagement session in downtown LA and it was truly a memorable experience. Not only did she incorporate all the details or props that were personal to us as a couple, but she also provided a spontaneous flare to our shoot! We’d stop by any spot that inspired either us/​her and take a few snaps. Needless to say, the results were more than we could have planned for– more variety in backgrounds and scenery! Mimi is everything you want in a wedding photographer! We were nervous to be in front of the camera, but she gave us directions and made us feel comfortable. She was always professional and organized. We received our proofs within 2 weeks and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Mimi is amazing! She was so patient and loving with our newborn photography session. She really understands babies which made the shoot a success. I was afraid that waiting a month would ruin having those cute sleepy pics. However, Mimi stepped in and got her calm down and stay calm in order to get all the shots I wanted.
