John G. Alevizos, DO – Alevizos Medical

Dr. Alevizos is truly HANDS DOWN one of THE BEST physicians I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He has changed my life for the better in a multitude of ways and helped to restore my self-​confidence, my pizzazz, the sparkle in my eyes, and the joy in my life that I thought I would never get back after horrible experiences with several other physicians. Originally, my fiancé and mother-​in-​law discovered Dr. A and began raving about him since day 1– so much so that I knew I had to see the miracle of a doc he is for myself. Let me tell you– I was not disappointed!!!
Dr. A has the best bedside manners and unlike many other physicians, he cares genuinely about the well-​being of his patients on a level that is far superior than most. His treatment practices reflect his progressive ideology. Dr. A believes in optimization of the body rather than just mediocrity. He is extremely knowledgable, always on the cutting edge of the latest technologies, and his dedication to his craft is reflected in his encounters with his patients. It is clear that Dr. A is passionate about transforming his patients into the best versions of themselves. I am living proof :)
Before I saw Dr. A, I was debating seeing a therapist to deal with my unstable mood fluctuations, my constant exhaustion, and my sudden excessive weight gain. I felt hopeless and as though I would never be able to be the «old me.» I adjusted my sleep, my diet, my workouts, my environment– yet nothing seemed to work. One of the hardest things for me to deal with was my changing body image since I have always been petite.
After I saw Dr. A, my life changed for the better. I am more energetic, more joyful, more confident, my body is better than it has ever been, my mood is stable, and I feel as though I could conquer the world again!
Dr. A took the time to talk to me and really address my concerns. He was not judgmental and understood the issues I was dealing with on a deeper level and was very eager to resolve them. My life would not be the same, had it not been for being introduced to Dr. Alevizos. I know my mother-​in-​law and fiancé would say the same ten times over :)
To top things off, his staff is extremely kind and accommodating, his office has been newly renovated and is beyond elegant, and there is hardly ever a wait when I visit his office. Ginger, at the front, is so kind and accommodating. Jennifer, his back office Nurse/​PA, is extremely sweet and helpful. I cannot thank Dr. Alevizos and his staff enough for changing my life and reigniting the flame within me.
I could literally rave on forever and ever about Dr. A and his staff– rather, I encourage anyone and everyone reading this to call his office NOW and get in to see Dr. A the wonderful splendor!
I love his office and the care I have received so much so that my brother and mom already have appointments with him this month– with my dad and other family members soon to pay him a visit! I thank my lucky stars that my fiancé discovered Dr. A!
I am forever grateful for the care I have received at Alevizos Medical and will be continuing to see Dr. A and sending people his way :)

Dr. Alevizos has great bedside manner & he knows his stuff! Been seeing him for weight loss and through his care, knowledge, and guidance I’ve managed to loose 10 lbs & drop 4 pant sizes.
Dr. A also is known for his advanced skills & knowledge in anti-​aging. I will be using him from now on for all my filler! Keep y’all posted on my anti-​aging results!

Always professional and friendly. My first appointment with Dr Alevizos was amazing. I was taken back early and Dr Alevizos was ON TIME for my appointment. The thing that separates this Dr from all others is Dr Alevizos LISTENS to his patients. He is always professional, respectful and on time.
In the three years that he has been my Dr. my health has improved greatly. Dr Alevizos even addressed my diet at my request and I found out that there was foods and supplements that I was taken that were more of a detriment than a benefit.
I wish all my Dr’s had this level of care.

Dr. Alevizos is an amazing physician. He had a great bedside manner to keep my nerves calm and he did a fantastic job. I’m only 23 and I got the vampire facial and it made my acne scars go away. Definitely recommend him. I’ll be coming back as I need more things.

I took my husband to see Dr John due to his high blood pressure. The medicine originally subscribed to him by the emergency room after we thought he was having a heart attack made him nauseas. Please keep in mind my husband H-​A-​T-​E-​S going to the Doctor and never goes, I would make appointments and he would refuse to go. He even got a certified letter from our previous Family Doctor saying they refused to accept him as a patient anymore… seriously have you ever heard of such a thing? Anyway you get the idea. One day I went in my husbands office and he looked absolutely horrible, to my astonishment he asked me to make him appointment with the Dr I had been telling him about, so you know he was bad. I had heard about Dr John from a friend of mine years ago, called the office and they got us in that afternoon. After seeing Dr John within the week he felt better and has the blood pressure of a 30 year old. This was the best life choice we made and have never looked back. My husband reminds me to make his appointment now and is is the best shape of his life, it’s been 6 years and going strong!

I have been very impressed with Dr. A’s knowledge, professionalism, integrity, and overall ability to put me at ease with my medical concerns. I came to Dr. A earlier this year for a consult of my medical condition, then sadly I went to one of his competitors. That was a terrible mistake. With the competitor, I felt like he was not truly interested in my concerns, he didn’t speak as though he cared if I were his patient or not. I went back to Dr. A, he quickly put me at ease, listened intently to what I had to say, and layed out a treatment plan that made sense… and one that has made a positive change for my now nonexistent condition. I appreciated the follow up Dr. A has done. He is truly committed to excellence! His staff is also very knowledgable, professional, and friendly, they too, helped me feel more comfortable! It’s not very often one finds a doctor who truly cares about their patients, has a positive and can-​do attitude, thank you Dr. A, I appreciate you and the work you and your staff do!

Dr. Alevizos has been my physician for over 8 years. He and his staff have always provided me top quality medical care. He takes time to listen and understand my particular healthcare goals and offers recommendations on how to achieve my desired results. Through his care I have been able to eliminate high blood pressure medication. I live a very active lifestyle and appreciate the exemplary service that Dr. Alevizos and his team provide. If you are looking for a consummate medical professional Dr. Alevizos is one of the best in Orange County.

I have been participating in Dr. A’s medical group for sometime now through work and personal business. His staff is very professional and friendly, and they really make you feel comfortable. What I enjoy most about Dr. A, is his ability to make you feel good about yourself. His upbeat personality and positive attitude are reasons why I have referred many to him.

I have been going to Dr. Alevizos for years, he’s a fantastic doctor, who exhibits integrity and vast knowledge more than other doctors I have seen in the past. If you want a doctor who is reputable then you should definitely see him! My friends & family mirror the same views as well.

If you are looking for a wonderful, compassionate Doctor then Dr. Alevizos is for you. I have been a patient of his for several years and depend on him to keep me healthy, wealthy and wise. Or at least healthy and wise!
These days, patient overload and other factors can make it difficult for Physicians to spend a lot of time with every single patient. Whenever I research a provider for myself or a family member, etc., — the number one complaint is almost always «The Dr. only spent two minutes with me.» Dr. Alevizos consistently makes it a point to not only LISTEN to his patients — but to take the necessary time to address their concerns and most importantly he makes time to explain and educate them in a way they truly understand. When it comes to practicing medicine, patient education is paramount with Dr. A. He honestly cares for his patients and keeping them healthy is what he lives for. He has a new (beautiful) office, is a great GP, an expert when it comes to hormones and is at the top of the Anti-​aging field! I can honestly say he is an amazing one of a kind Doctor and an equally amazing down to earth human being. I highly recommend Dr. Alevizos to anyone who needs a great Physician!

Dr. Alevizos is professional, friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He explains every procedure, lab result and issue that comes up in detail and offers a solution. His staff is just as great as well. He has been my doctor for 3 years now. I’d recommend him to everybody.
I actually have and two of my friends now see him and feel the same way as I do.

I have been going to Dr. Alevizos for almost 20 years. He has always been the most understanding and compassionate doctor I have ever dealt with. He always has an answer for my problems and with the medication prescribed I recovered quickly. I have never heard him say «Let me find out and I will call you later.» He comes up with the correct diagnosis immediately.

If you want a primary physician that actually cares about you and your personal health, I highly suggest you DO NOT come here!
I have been going to the numerous doctors that work here from Kathy, Amy to John for about 10 years and have finally lost all hope for this place. The receptionist’s really don’t care about you and/​or your symptoms, and this office as a whole could care less what medical problem you’re having as they are more concerned about getting you in and out as fast as possible and taking your money.
After going to Urgent Care twice; first time for the emergency I had, and the second time for having an allergic reaction to the antibiotics I was administered, I decided to call my primary physician since they have my medical history on file. The receptionist that answered was semi-​nice, but after explaining the series of Urgent Care visits I had & the reasoning behind all of it, I told the receptionist I wanted to speak to a nurse. All nurses were busy the first time I called so I called back 20 minutes later like I was instructed to do. When I called 20 minutes later, I was never transferred to a nurse. Instead, another receptionist decided to hop on the phone. I re-​told the exact same thing I had told the other receptionist and her immediate response was either a) call Urgent Care or b) go to the ER. It’s so awesome to know that these people actually care, NOT! Since I had already called Urgent Care prior to calling the doctors office for the second time, I told the receptionist that they wanted to give me more medication for the allergic reactions I was having and to me that just didn’t seem right. Because of all this back and forth at Urgent Care, this is the MAIN reason I wanted to see my primary physician. The receptionist said I can wait two days to get an appointment (the antibiotics I’m currently on would be done by that time aka no more allergic reactions), go to Urgent Care or the ER like she had previously suggested.
I told her «I’ve never had to wait two days to get an appointment at this medical office and considering I’ve been going here for 10 years or so you would think you’d actually care about my physical health». Her exact response word for word was «because of Obama Care and people having insurance now we are busy all the time.»
With that being said, this place is a complete corporation and only concerned about how much money/​profit they are driving versus the actual physical state and well-​being of their patients. If Obama Care is the reasoning behind this place being booked so far in advance fine, but you should never tell a patient that who is in need of medical attention.
Anyways, you bet after all of this I’m switching my primary physician ASAP like yesterday. Your health is your wealth people, go to a doctor that actually cares about you & is willing to go the extra mile unlike this place!

This review is for the family practice side not workers’ comp. My first visit came after a long search for ANYONE who could help me with my hormone issues. Two years of searching later, I located Dr. A online via a link to his blog on bio-​identical hormones. What a relief to finally find a doc who A understands female issues B has some compassion. So I brought my daughter, friend and co-​worker, then my 78 year old mother. He literally saved my mom’s life! We came in to discuss possible thyroid issues and my concern regarding her meds. He took one look at my mom’s legs, before we could barely speak, explained how the circulation was being cut off, next step no legs! Long story short he took her off the med that was causing lack of circulation (former dr blamed diabetes), took her off one of the 3 diabetes meds, ran tests treated her thyroid. Mom arrived first visit ready to die, 3 months later has a new lease on life! We are very thankful Dr. A!
Honestly, This office can be VERY hectic, so much so you can «feel» the tension at times. Since noting this, I try to schedule first/​last of the day and early in the week appointments. So far the change has been good for me.
So glad to have found you Dr. A! BTW my daughter loves Amy Risley PA too!

Disappointed
I expect a doctor to care for the patient… not a corporation.
I realize that in an insurance driven industry (like medicine), $‘s are important. The optimist in me hopes that people come before profit, but the realist in me doesn’t have enough evidence to prove otherwise.
Dr. Alevizos proved to me that $ are first.
My fiancé broke her foot at work. If you’re familiar with Workers Comp, and all the BS that goes with it, sigh here.
So check it out. On the initial office visit (the day of the injury), she was seen by Dr. Alevizos. He released her for work the next day (with a broken foot). But… she also had an appointment to see an ortho specialist the next day.
As she was checking out the first day, she was told that her company offered a «work from home» option so that there was no reportable time lost and there wouldn’t be lost wages.
My fiancé agreed to the arrangement.
The Ortho specialist prescribed «work from home» for 3 weeks.
One week later she got an email from her company informing her that she needed to «report» to Dr. Alevizos.
When she called, she was informed that an appointment had been made for her for that day, even though no one from the company or from Dr. Alevizos office had bothered to reach out… hmmmm…maybe if she had an email address or a cell phone… OH Wait. She Does.
At that emergency visit Dr. Alevizos charged that the «work from home» program didn’t exist. He accused her of misleading the clinic in regard to the «work from home» program, which was odd, because it was the clinic that informed her about the program from her companies HR department to begin with.
Lastly, when Dr. Alevizos examined my fiancé, he was checking her ankle.
It was her foot that was broken.
He had seen the x-​rays on two previous occasions and advised her on the diagnosis, but on this last visit apparently that had escaped him.
He didn’t even examine the correct area.
Disappointed.

Too bad I can’t give this office a 0 star rating! I woke up with my throat almost swollen shut and had difficulty breathing and talking. My wife called them to find out where our Urgent care was (it was 7AM) and the receptionist said the Dr comes in at 7:30 and that he would see me to see if I needed to go to the ER. My parents drove me there and I arrived at about 7:45. The office manager said the Dr wouldn’t see me because they were double booked all day. I explained to her that I couldn’t breathe and she told me to go to Urgent Care. I explained that the receptionist told me to come in for the Dr to take a quick look — the receptionist then lied and said he never said that. So I’m standing in the Dr office, about to pass out from lack of oxygen and no one will look at me or tell me where to go. I asked her which Urgent Care I should go to and she told me to Google it! I ended up going to an ER that gave me a bunch of drugs to get the swelling down so I could breathe again… with a $ 250 Co-​pay. Not only is this office terrible with customer service and lies, they also put a person out on the street that could have died had I not made it to the ER on time. This place is a danger to the community!
And for those still on the fence about going here let me leave you with this thought: Do you want to go to a dr’s office that is double booked every day? How inconsiderate is that to our time? They obviously only care about stuffing in patients to make money as opposed to spending time with patients to actually help them.

Officially my new primary doctor. Efficient, friendly and easy in/​out of office. They definitely value their patients time.
