Claimed to be the master of hair straighten & perm, when the straighten did not work, she kept giving excuses and give you the attitude of don’t come here then… Just like the previous 1 star review, she gets mad at the customer…
I thought Japanese are polite and friendly…

Hiro does an amazing job. She has the best prices compared to anyone else and the quality of work is absolutely amazing. I have been going to her for five years because no other hair salon can compare to her.
I get my hair permanently straightened with her and she uses high quality Japanese products that don’t damage your hair. All of the other salons use cheap products that have ruined my hair in the past but not Hiro. I’m so happy I found her!

I’ve been getting my hair straightened for almost 15 years, and although I’ve only had it done by Hiro once, I’ve got to start by saying that she is AMAZING!
I found her on Unilocal earlier this year and went to her salon to have my hair checked so she could give me an estimation on how much it would cost.
I usually always get my hair done in Japan (where it can be really cheap to get it straightened, but actually damaged my hair SO MUCH), so when Hiro told me her price, I was a bit apprehensive about it. BUT as I did more research, I figured out that her price was actually REALLY affordable compared to other salons in Orange County.
I hadn’t had my hair straightened for a year, and since I have a lot of volume, I felt bad giving her so much work… BUT I could easily tell that she actually really loves straightening hair so t worked out perfectly! :) She’s so patient, and sweet! Also SO passionate about hair!
I absolutely love how my hair turned out — I could tell right away that her products are really high in quality. I think it’s awesome that Hiro cares about the results more than making money. She could easily charge way more than she currently does… but I am so happy that she doesn’t! Lol
Previously, my hair was so frizzy, damaged and just looked terrible but she did such an amazing job!

She’s the only stylist who I have gone back to multiple times to get my Japanese straight perm done. I’ve been getting my hair straightened roughly once a year for many years now and usually will try a different place because I either moved or there was something I didn’t like about the prior place I went too (pushing products, still had weird waves in my hair, fried my hair…). I have thick Asian hair but instead of it being straight, it’s very course, wavy, and frizzy. Hiro takes great pride in her work and evaluates your hair before deciding if she can perm it or not. If you’re not happy with something she will take the time to fix it. She tries to minimize damage to the hair and is very honest when I ask her opinions on different cuts or colors I want to try. She’s against bleaching and won’t straighten my hair if I get highlights again. Best way to make an appointment is to text her cell (949) 378‑3026. She has always responded back to me within a day.

I got to know Hiro through Unilocal.I used to go see another hair stylist in L. A, but I didn’t want to go that far to get my hair done and I also didn’t like my last haircut, so I decided to go see Hiro.
Hiro NEVER takes advantage of you. She gave me an honest advice regarding my hair. And she uses one of the best hair solutions for all perm so your hair gets REALLY SHINY! I recently got a straight perm from her. However, my hair returned to normal after two weeks or so, so I texted her let her know that I already see my old hair, and she asked me to come in and put the best treatment to prevent any damage and straightened my hair again (My hair was really damaged because my former hair stylist put so much layer in my hair and used a different hair solution). She already knew that my hair was damaged and the reason I dindn’t get the best result from the straight perm was because of a straight perm I got from another hair stylist, but she didn’t complain and made my hair perfect.
Hiro really wants her clients to be satisfied so she tries her best to give everyone the best.
She is humorous and super friendly (I laugh so much when I talk to her)! And on top of that, she tries her best to make you feel comfortable during your visit.
My mom recently got a haircut from her as well and she was very satisfied. I also heard and read lots of reviews saying that Hiro is also great at digital perm and coloring, so my whole family decided to go see her from now on.
So if you’re looking for a great hair stylist in Irvine, don’t hesitate to go see Hiro! :)
And she usually picks up her phone, but she might not be able to do so when she’s with a client. If that’s the case, leave her a text. She responds within few minutes/​hours. I recommend Hiro wholeheartedly!

One day I decided to check out Unilocal to find a good hair stylist and then I found Hiro (thank you Unilocalers!)
She has worked wonders on my hair by straightening it permanently (Japanese hair straightening) and cutting it to the length I desired. I was quite happy she was able to fit me on a day another person has canceled. What made the hair cut even better was the service: she definitely listened to me every step of the way and was able to answer any questions I had (for example: what are you putting in my hair now? haha)
The only bad thing is that she wants cash or check but she did mention she is considering accepting credit cards in the future.

I found Hiro, thanks to Unilocal.I was looking for someone with experience in Japanese hair straightening. I contacted Hiro and she was able to squeeze me in within a week. She communicates and confirms your appointment via text. She is located inside Salon Sola complex which encompasses a number of hair stylists.
When I arrived for my appointment, Hiro immediately noticed the low-​lights in my hair. She regrettably informed me that my hair would be furthered damaged if I moved forward with the Japanese hair straightening. She said she wouldn’t be happy if she treated my hair. I appreciated her honesty. She said she’d prefer if I wait until my hair grew out. Most hair stylists would have went ahead with the Japanese hair straightening just so s/​he could make money. Instead, Hiro asked me to wait and come back in 6 – 8 months. In the meantime, Hiro went ahead and trimmed and layered my hair. I’m pleased with her work so far.
Her prices are fair and affordable. The only issue is that at the time of this review, she was not accepting credit cards. Only cash or check. I believe she’s working on getting a credit card machine. I hope so.
Definitely give Hiro a try. I’m looking forward to going back and getting my hair straightened. I’ll keep ya’ll posted :)

I’ve been looking for a Japanese straightening expert that is local to OC for quite some time. Thanks to Unilocal,I finally found her! Hiro is unbelievably amazing at what she does. She knows the best treatment and methods for certain types of hair. In my situation, coarse Asian hair. After doing Japanese straightening with Hiro, my hair feels like silk, not the straight stiff version that I’ve experienced in the past. It feels unbelievably soft and silky. Additionally, it looks straight and shiny. I’m so excited, knowing that I don’t have to use a flat iron for a long time. Hiro also uses the best Japanese products in the market so you can rest assured that you get the best quality. Thank you Hiro, you’re definitely the hero to my hair!

A huge fan of Hiro. She certainly is sweet and the best in hair. Not only is she awesome at hair she is a very warm and humble. I live in Los Angeles but drive to irvine to get my hair done by her. I have spent a lot on hair in places in koreatown, but no body takes the time and effort as Hiro. Love her! Look how she tranformed my hair! She’s great with digital perm !

I’m excited to be the first client at Hiro’s new independent space located inside the Sola Salon building. I’ve been following Hiro for a few years now since she worked at East West Hair Salon then Richard’s Hair World so this review is long overdue. She does a phenomenal job of providing exactly what you need based on photos that I present to her. Today I simply got a haircut but have routinely gotten color jobs and digital perms throughout the years, and have always been happy with the results :) Hiro is truly great at what she does and also shares her talent by teaching other hair stylists how to perform digital perms. I love her so much. I love what she does with my hair and how my hair is after she works her magic so much!
I have this crazy frizzy coarse thick hair, that I insist on growing long. But whenever my hair feels uncontrollable and too ugly, I go see Hiro. She does her magic. And I have pretty hair. She is a expert at Japanese hair straightening. I’ve had series if horror stories with other salons and stylists. Hiro’s method is the only one that I can keep getting it done and actually able to hire my hair long. Other places, I hair would fry and I had to cut them.
Under Hiro, my hair looks pretty. Shiny, straight, and healthy!!! It’s like plastic surgery for hair!!! And she charges WAY less than other places that killed my hair.
If you have not-​so-​pretty hair (especially those coarse thick Asian hair like me), give her a try!!!

So, I’ve waited for a little over 2 months to put up a fair review on Hiro’s digital perm.
I first called Hiro to make an appointment, but it went straight to her voicemail. Even so, she’s really good with calling back in a timely fashion, as she is a very busy person! To not be surprised, I asked for pricing and a total quote before coming in — I felt it was expensive but fair for the amount of time and the length of hair I have. Since it’s my first time, I’d rather pay a little extra and get what I want than to have someone burn off all my hair.
Anyway, so I came extremely late to my appointment (I hate you traffic!) but she was soooo nice and accommodating that she went ahead with the digital perm anyway, knowing that she would have to stay later than usual. Thanks so much Hiro!
Flash forward (it takes a couple of hours so be prepared), she finishes and I like it; she rolls the sections of hair differently than regular perms — it’s vertical instead of horizontal to your head which gives you a completely different curl/​wave. I think you look less like an old Asian lady. Also, she starts the perm halfway down your head so the curls aren’t too tight, thus adding to the old lady look.
So, I hold it for two days like she said, but after washing, it’s not really like how it looked the first time. I call her back to tell her and she says no worries, I can come back, she’ll fix it at no charge. Yippee! My birthday was the following week and I was scared I would have crappy hair but she saved it!
When I came for the do over, she told me that she’d rather under-​do and then have to redo it than to over-​do and damage the hair. Every person’s hair takes to treatment differently and now she knows how much my hair can take. Maybe she’s fibbing, maybe she’s not, but I trust her because I still love how my hair looks. I would have to say though, perhaps get your hair cut before you come to her… I didn’t like how mine was trimmed, but maybe she was just rushing because I did come late :\
Side note: for digital perms, Hiro prefers you to color your hair first, wait a couple weeks, then come for the perm. If you do it the other way around, you’ll kill the waves. I’ve researched and found all sorts of recommendations, so I don’t know who’s right… but in case that helps you in anyway, I’ve done my duty.

Hiro has been my hairdresser for years, particular for the Japanese straight perm. She is the ONLY one I trust. I came across Hiro because my cousin was a client. The first time I spoke with Hiro she asked that I come back to her in a few months because I had highlights in my hair and told me that my hair would not do too well with the straightening process. This was refreshing as she was concerned with my hair rather than to just get paid.
I did come back months later. She straightened my hair and it was amazing. My hair was straight and no longer frizzy. It was shiny and actually looks healthy. I get my perm once a year and each time I never regret it. She did my hair today, and again no regrets.
Hiro is very personable and friendly. It’s a 3 – 4 hr process but it didn’t seem that long because we had good conversations. Her prices are reasonable and it’s one price because she doesn’t nickel and dime you for every little procedure. She prefers cash or check. Call her cell instead of the salon.
Getting your hair permed is no joke. You must choose someone that knows how to handle the product with your hair. So far I’ve always been happy with her work:)

Hiro is my only hair stylist almost 10 years I believe. She is not only knowledgeable about hair and products but she is always straightforward. That’s why I can rely so much on her advice and my hair gets better and better. Definitely highly recommended!

I found Hiro on Unilocal and called her because she has 5 stars. Her Unilocal listing says she’s at Richard’s Hair World. However, do not call Richard’s Hair World and ask to speak with her or schedule an appointment with her, as she seemed to be pretty annoyed.
I also called her phone # listed here on this Unilocal profile, but apparently she doesn’t answer it and prefers text messages only. I guess I should have read all the reviews here first so I would understand how to even contact this woman in the first place.

She was great. I got a digital perm, cost $ 200 total + tips.
My hair was middle of my back length. Due to self-​coloring at home, I damaged my hair a bunch. I told her to cut as much as she think it needed to be. But she saved most of it, my hair still over my shoulder about 3 inches. The length looks great with the perm.
Styling wise: it takes time. I was very lazy before. but I can’t anymore. Digital perm hair need to be style. 15−20mins is not bad for looking like a million bucks.
Well, but when I am very lazy, pony tail or messy bun look kinda cute too, lol.

Hiro knows her hair. I’m truly picky about who touches my hair due to very traumatic experiences in my past i trust Hiro with my hair. I been going to Hiro for about 5 years and will still keep going! She knows what kind of hair style I want and she knows how to treat my hair right. And if I bring in a hairstyle she can emulate it the way it’ll look right for me. And she’s always nice talking to.
Her haircut price is 29 for male hair cuts and its a good deal. She’s always busy and always has hair appointments so call when you have the time. Enjoy your haircut!

Hiro is my favorite hair dresser for years… I had followed her from East West Hair to this new location at Richard’s Hair World. well, I like this new location, parking is super easy, and her station is the one furthest inside the hair salon.
I usually see her for haircut but this time, I decided to get a perm. I called her up and made an appt. anyways, she told me that she specialized in the digital perm.
digital perm??? I dont really know what is difference between the digital perm and the regular perm. but I trust her with my hair…
so here I am with my hair permed after 1 month. my hair is super soft/​NOT DAMAGED & bouncy curly. :) me love it alot!!!
