Dr. Gregory Johnson is a true professional! I am beyond glad I came to him for braces and would definitely recommend him to anyone! The quality of service and staff are priceless, thank you all! :)

Dr. Johnson placed my braces when I was 15 years old. 16 years later my teeth are still straight and I get compliments on my smile on a daily basis. I have been seen by Dr. J on and off since then for retainer check ups. He still remembers me after all these years! He is very personable and truly cares about his patients. The visits are quick and painless. His staff is super friendly too. Highly recommended!
Also remember that you as the patient have to be proactive in continuing to care for your teeth and wear your retainer diligently. Though Dr. J is an artist, he can’t perform miracles and keep your teeth straight forever if you don’t follow his recommendations. I can say this bc 12 years after removing my braces I am diligent and responsible for wearing my retainer and going in for occasional check ups. Do everything he tells you and you will be golden.

Dr. Johnson is an expert in his field. He did my teeth 30 years ago and I was very happy with the results. I took my children to Dr. Johnson and we have had excellent results. We have been interviewing surgeons to do surgery for my one of my kids who needs a couple of implants. Every surgeon that has examined my child’s mouth has complimented my child’s teeth saying that Dr. Johnson has done an excellent job.
Dr. Johnson has also been wonderful talking with the surgeons we are considering and working with them to select the right game plan for the surgery. He is very good at what he does. He is very kind and honest. We are truly blessed that he has been our orthodontist.

I have three kids in treatment for phase 1. We have gone through expanded, bionators and now retainers. The staff is really friendly and accommodating and you are always in and out of the office without any unnecessary waiting. Dr.
Johnson is the sweetest man ever and my kids love him.

Dr. Johnson did a great job at straightening my teeth. However, he didn’t know how to retain them. Except for the front teeth, all the other teeth (6 of them) have relapsed. They leaned, rotated, shifted back to the original positions. I have been wearing my Hawley retainers all the time since I took off my braces on 2÷13÷13, except while eating.
I’ve consulted with 2 other orthodontists, one of them thought the Essix retainer would have been a better choice for me. Dr. Johnson never admitted any mistake, he blamed me for not wearing my retainers while I eat. It’s impossible to wear them while eating, they pop right off. He also blamed a «tongue thrust» problem for the teeth relapse, which is disputed by the other 2 orthodontists.
Dr. Johnson is a very nice person and I think he tried his best. Unfortunately, I think he’s used to the Hawley retainers and prescribes these routinely without consideration for other types. I’m writing this review to turn a negative experience into a positive one. If 1 person learns from my mistake, then my loss is not in vain. Do your homework on what retainer is best for you and consult with other orthodontists before taking off your braces.
His office is frequently full (6 chairs) and he jumps around among all the patients. I think they schedule too many patients at the same time, they made mistakes (a wrong size wire) a few times. One last word, they charge $ 700 for the retainers in addition to what you already paid for orthodontist service. At most other orthodontist offices, the retainers are included in the price for orthodontist service.

My 10 year old is ccurrently being treated by Dr. Johnson. Great service, and worth every penny.

So far, so amazing. At 34, I’m having to get braces again! I should have listen and wore my retainer… Anyways, after a recommendation from my dentist, I came to Dr Johnson for some orthodontic work. Can you believe his office has been open since 1978?!? He must have been one of the first businesses in Irvine… I’ve seen what time has done to this shopping center, it use to be full of predominately large American chained shops. Heck, I remember there use to be only 1 Asian restaurant in this center, Tampopo. Now it’s reversed, Dr. Johnson is the only non-​Asian business in the center!
Ok, so asides from the demographic change, Dr Johnson is extremely well mannered and friendly. I’m going in for my braces tomorrow, but so far all appointments and follow up’s have been professional and prompt.

My classmate’s mom recommended him, and it was a great recommendation. He was my orthodontist for 9 years (4 years braces + 5 years retainers/​checkups)! I was expected to have my braces for only 3 years, but since I was so lazy with those rubber bands, it took another year. Dr. Johnson is very talented and nice. My major complaint is that there can be so many people being looked at in the office at one time, that you’ll have to wait a while before you’ll get looked at. If you don’t mind paying a bit more for high quality work, go to Dr. Johnson.
His has the most awesome looking office. It’s decorated with his own photographs of race car drivers and he even mounted a real race car near the ceiling!
I don’t know how much longer he’s gonna stick around before he retires, so catch him while you can. He’s really well-​known and my boss (a dentist) and boss’s brother (another orthodontist) have heard about him.
