I love this place!!! This is the only place that help me recover from severe acne. I tried many products and nothing in the world helped me except for the natural herbs that were given to me. I went through this two times in my life and both times these natural herbs helped me so much and my acne never came back!

Dr Zhu has been my go to doctor for more than 15 yrs. He was recommended to me by my sister in law, who was a nurse in a major hospital nearby. I had been going to western doctors for terrible pain in my shoulder. No results from all the visits. After 6 acupunture treatments i was pain free and no side effects from any drugs since i didnt need to take any meds during his treatments.
My adult children have seen him for athletic muscle pain, back pain, leg pain, etc. Great results and i go back for acupressure treatments every once in a while. Highly recommend!

Dr. Zhu is my go to doctor for all of my Chinese medicine needs. My mom also loves to come here for her insomnia conditions. Dr. Zhu is very professional and friendly, he is calm and soft spoken with great knowledge and confidence. He never over promises over any treatment or herbal prescription. I feel very comfortable coming here for help. I often just call him and Dr. Zhu is very generous in giving me consultancy. Two thumbs up.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Gary Zhu for about 12 years now. He’s provided herbs when I’m sick and also acupressure and acupuncture treatment when I have stiff neck, sprain injuries, etc. and he’s fixed me every time. I’m glad he is close by so I don’t have to drive to Rowland Heights or Westminster for treatment. Also, he is fluent in English so don’t worry about language barrier. Give him a try and I’m sure you won’t regret.

Excellent work! The Chinese doctor helped us with our exact problem, did it quickly, and charged us a reasonable rate! Felt better in a matter of 20 minutes and they were very friendly to boot. Definitely coming back here next time we have a health issue.

I always thinking that a professional doctor should have warm-​hearted and should be kind of people, but this doctor he is so mean to whoever not to be his customer. it means no income no talk! He only look you as a money giver but not a patient! If you don’t believe that, you can try to be a strange and only ask for some information and not decide to pay yet…

They are super nice couple! They have got most common traditional Chinese herb and you can bring your own Rx from other Chinese doctor and pack the herb tea here. I’ve only getting the Chinese herb here but never try either consultant or acupuncture from Dr. Zhu. But if i ever need i will definitely try here! FYI– acupuncture $ 75 and consultant only is $ 20.

High time I updated my review. I’m still coming here whenever I get sick, which hasn’t been very much since I’m now drinking their Ginsing tea. I also buy stashes of their sinus tea and their sore throat & cough tea. It has a much faster affect on my kids than on me. I need more doses to get over small colds. Yes, my kids drink the herbal teas too. They drink it in their small baby cups (about 1 cup) with organic honey. Works wonders. The tea takes care of whatever cough or sinus problems they’re having.
The primary doctor is Dr. Gary. Besides the fact that he is kind, patient, and has excellent bed-​side manners, he also has an amazing memory. He always remember what he prescribes me even though its been years ago. I never know the names of any herbs but as soon as I describe the herb I’m looking for, he’ll tell me what it is and why he prescribed it for me. It’s like talking to a walking encyclopedia.
I still agree with everything I wrote in my previous review of Evergreen Herbs back in 2010. I just thought I’d update it so all Unilocalers know that I’m still coming here and now I have two tag-​along kids when I come.

I swear by Dr. Zhu’s acupuncture. I had mean headache for the past 3 days but as soon as Dr. Zhu helped me, my headache disappeared. Thank you!

They are so nice, and the medicine are reasonable price.
The first time I came with couching, he taught to what to buy, and I get well in 4 days.
Today is the second time, she is so nice.

My Chinese Professor recommended Dr. Gary Zhu to treat my CKD (I am supposedly to be on the kidney transplant list in next 5 – 6 years according to current result of my blood test)
Dr. Zhu looked at my B.U.N and Creatinine result and straight forward letting me know there is no herb or chinese medicine to take care my condition, only accupuncture to allow more blood flow to the kidneys and prevent further deterioration. He also suggest proper diet and food I should avoid.
Besides being honest, Dr. Zhu and his wife are very kind, pleasant without any flattering. The clinic is clean, not luxurious, but function well. I absolutely love heat lamp which Dr. Zhu thoughtfully provide during the accupuncture when we had first snow in December. Both Dr. Zhu and his wife are professional, friendly, honest, kind, and amazingly knowledgeble!!!:)
After 1 month of accupuncture and 2 weeks rest, I reckon that my energy has been increased. I hiked 5 miles of steep slopes of Laguna Canyon yesterday, which I wouldn’t have made it without the care from Dr. Zhu.
I look forward to my next acupuncture session and will do the blood test next month. I will let you all know how my GFR is.

I was looking for a local acupuncturist to treat my sciatica and found the Unilocal reviews very helpful. I called in the morning and got a 1:30pm appointment. When I came in I was in so much pain, I could hardly keep my hand steady enough to fill out the forms.
I saw the doctor right away, and 5 minutes later (the amount of time it took him to ask questions AND figure out the source of the pain), I was on the table with needles on my lower back and hips.
The acupuncture portion of the treatment took 30 minutes, and the doctor came in to check on me a couple of times (he actually woke me up both times!)
After removing the needles, he gave me a deep tissue massage followed by recommendations — stay warm, apply heat to the area, etc… And said to come back in 3 – 5 days only if I still had pain or discomfort. He also said I would feel much better in 2 days or so.
I felt a little better immediately after the treatment: I could walk straight.
It’s been 2 days and today, I could finally go back to most of my normal activities.
I had sciatica in the past, and it took over 10 months of weekly chiropractic visits just to manage the pain. It only took one visit to this awesome acupuncturist!
Highly recommend him!

Found this place through Unilocal of course! This was my first time with acupuncture but was in a lot of neck/​shoulder pain and tired of taking killers. As the previous reviews, Dr. Zhu is very honest! I only needed a couple of treatments and now I am happy and pain free :)!

i have severe neck and shoulder pain on my left side. i went to chiropractors, got accupressure massages, swedish massages, thai massages and even saunas to try and relieve all the tension and knots. nothing really worked for me and sometimes i’d leave feeling even sorer. i finally decided to WOMAN up after much persuading by my mother to go ahead and try acupuncture. i am deathly afraid of needles so i was VERY hesitant on going but it got to the point where it hurt so bad that PAIN is greater than fear of NEEDLES.
IT ACTUALLY DIDNT HURT AT ALL. i feel so stupid for psyching myself out before the appointment. it felt like someone digging their finger nail in you for a sec, but thats about it. after 30 min, i was a new woman. the pain is now a ⁴⁄₁₀ instead of ⁸⁄₁₀ i think after a few more treatments i should be cured! now i can’t want to come back in the next few days

Dr. Zhu is awesome. I love acupuncture, and I’ve gone to several in China and the US in my lifetime and he is pretty good. I had a sore neck and rather than do it the old American way by taking ibuprofen or some other meds and then getting heat pads, I always go to an acupuncturist, because they’re able to unclog the stress right on the pressure point. After 30 minutes, my neck felt so much better!!! I could turn it again. Usually people at the office take a week or 2 to get better, as for me, I go see Dr. Zhu and my neck pains are 80% diminished right after. In addition, he also stretches your muscles after and cracks your back for you. Love it.

Dr Zhu has successfully helped my through several injuries, as well as a bad case of Bell’s. Has also helped get my blood pressure down and reduce my dose of medicine in half so far. He knows is stuff!
Dr. Zhu is honest and trustworthy, he will tell you when you don’t need his services, or he cant help you. He charges a fair price,

Over this past Christmas, my lower back decided to give out! For close to 5 days, I tried to just take it easy and hope my back would get better. It went from bad to worse and i was willing to try anything.
I’ve always been interested in acupuncture or an alternative med. I found Dr. Zhu on Unilocal and decided to give it a try.
After the first treatment, I felt 90% better immediately.
I went in for 1 additional treatment maybe a week later and since then my back has been good as new!
I’m getting some additional acupuncture for some other stuff, will update once its done.

I am an acupuncture afficionado. Growing up, my mom has always been into alternative medicine/​treatments… so I am no stranger to acupuncture. It has never failed me. So when I got this weird stiff neck/​neck kink that would not go away for 3 weeks, I knew I had to find myself an acupuncturist. I was in serious pain and it was interfering with my sleep and driving (it’s dangerous to drive when it hurts to turn your head!!)… plus, holding my baby girl all the time wasn’t helping my cause… the pain just got progressively worse.
I asked for a quote over the phone and they said the first visit would be $ 65 ($ 15 consultation + $ 50 treatment). Any successive time would just be $ 50. That is such a good price! I went to another acupuncture place in Irvine (Family Wellness Acupuncture) last year and it was double the price for one treatment. Dr. Zhu also takes PPO! So your insurance might be covered here.
Anyway, after Dr. Zhu’s treatment, my neck/​shoulder problems felt infinitely better. He stuck a ton of needles in me (they don’t hurt at all), and I napped for 30 minutes under a heatlamp while the needles did their magic. Then he took off the needles and kneaded out my neck, rubbed some muscles, and cracked some bones. It all felt amazing.
Don’t worry if you can’t speak Chinese because Dr. Zhu and his assistant speak great English. He does acupressure too if you’re not a fan of needles.

So I came here for the first time after I hurt my lower back. I was referred here by a friend from work. I came in for what I thought would be accupressure. Before I knew it, I agreed to accupuncture. I was assured that it was the most effective treatment. I was offered ginseng tea while I waited for my room to be prepped. The doctor and his assistant was very friendly and informative. He was able to find the exact location of my pain within seconds. Before I knew it, I was already face down on the table and Bam! 3 needles in my back. To be honest… I do have a slight fear of needles, but you have to understand that I was in extreme pain for 3 days now, and was willing to deal with my fears to get rid of the pain. Who woulda thunk it? It was actually not painful at all. Like someone poking you once in the back with their nail.
The accupuncture was about 30 min, with the doctor coming in and checking up on me every 10 min or so. When the doctor came back and removed the needles, he then told me I would have a few minutes of accupressure. This part was actually quite painful for me. But I’ll tell you now… It was well worth the short period of pain.
Before you knew it, I paid my $ 40 and the doctor advised me to sit up straight, and to not put stress on my back. He also said I should take it easy for the next 2 or 3 days. I was quite tender leaving his shop. But the next day, I felt fantastic!
