History

Established in 2007.

Dr. Daniel Kline specializes in no stitch, no patch cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange using the latest accommodating, multifocal intraocular lens implants (IOL’s) including ReStor, Crystalens, ReZoom and Toric lenses, PRK and LASIK laser vision correction surgery, using Intralase (All-​Laser, Bladeless), Custom (Wavefront), and Conventional technology. He is a medical doctor (M.D.) in the field of ophthalmology educated at Harvard and Yale, an eye physician and surgeon providing comprehensive eye care. His focus on vision, eye surgery and helping his patients see better includes the type of care provided by general eye doctors, optometrists, opticians, and ophthalmologists (Eye MD’s). Doctor Kline can prescribe glasses and contact lenses and can write prescriptions for medications when indicated. The office serves Irvine, Newport Beach, Tustin, Laguna Niguel, Santa Ana, Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Lake Forest, and Laguna Beach.

Daniel C. Kline, M.D. graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and obtained his medical degree cum laude from Yale University School of Medicine. He received his training in ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Kline has published many peer-​reviewed articles and has given numerous presentations at ophthalmology meetings nationwide.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the California Medical Association, the Orange County Medical Association and serves on the executive board of the Orange County Society of Ophthalmology. He is on the medical staff of Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital located in Newport Beach, California.

Dr. Kline is a cataract and LASIK surgeon. He has been awarded numerous honors for his surgical skill and compassionate bedside manner.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT ever go to this office, the charges are exorbitant and the office manager, Sandy, and direct staff, Lisa, except for one front desk girl are incredibly rude, and extremely incompetent!!! They sent me a bill from an office visit from 2011!!! OVER FOUR YEARS ago $ 380 for him to simply look at my eye and nothing else only to say except I had make up in my eye.
I don’t recall ever receiving a bill, assuming insurance took care of it at the time.
They were incredibly rude and would not work with me at all only giving the excuse that they have thousands of accounts that they can’t possibly keep track of!!! And that they had a different billing service at the time and some accounts fell through the cracks! Seriously ??? That’s not my fault. That’s on them and their incompetent billing company and staff. I offered to pay $ 100 on a $ 180 bill after insurance paid I guess and not only did they refuse that, they wanted to charge me interest!
They have lost a patient, and lost any referrals and created huge ill will for $ 80!!! INCREDIBLY STUPID AND INCOMPETENT!!! I would never employee people such as Sandy or Lisa in any business I would have.
I paid the $ 180 because I simply don’t need that sort of aggravation in my life. I have no worries that they will encounter only negativity in their lives as that is how they choose to treat people, more importantly, patients.
I’m sure there are plenty of other great doctors out there who hopefully treat their patients better. It’s sad for an office to lose a patient over something so stupid, but if that’s how he chooses to run his office, then shame on them all.

Dr Kline and his staff are great. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. When I arrived for my appointment I was immediately greeted in a friendly manner and after filling out some forms, only had to wait 10 minutes before being called back. The assistant who called me back and got all my information as to why I was there was very thorough and also very friendly – we had quite a good time!
Dr Kline is very knowledgeable and takes his time with you. He answered all my questions and treated me like a friend. I would highly recommend his office

As a physician, I know excellent medical care from mediocre. Dr. Kline demonstrates the
best of all traits: He is excellent diagnostically and surgically and spends time with you,
unlike many other physicians who seem to be dealing primarily with their computers.
Moreover he is a kind and caring physician, an example of a dying breed.
The nurses and assistants in his office are top-​notch and always make you feel like part
of a ‘family’ They also are excellent at getting you an immediate appointment when an
emergency comes up.
The office is beautiful, clean, and organized. I recommend Dr. Kline without reservation.

If I were writing this review purely for Dr. Kline’s ophthalmology service, the rating would be higher. I found Dr. Kline to be friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. He even took the time to speak to me on the phone when I called a few days after my appointment with a concern. I would rate Dr. Kline 4 stars.
However, this business also does vision exams and sells glasses and contacts. I saw Dr. Hoang for my vision exam. Actually for two vision exams. The first one went horribly and the lenses she prescribed for astigmatism (which I’ve never been told I had before) were all wrong. I couldn’t see a thing. I returned for a second exam, which resulted in a prognosis of no astigmatism and hardly any change in my current prescription. I was very frustrated to have to take time off of work for two vision appointments, plus another appointment to pick up my glasses which were the wrong prescription anyway. And it didn’t end there. After wearing the trial contacts for a week, I called the office to place my order for contacts and glasses. A week later, I still hadn’t received my contacts in the mail, so I called the office. They forgot to order them. The glasses arrived a few days later, and when I went to pick them up (which required another appointment), we discovered they were again the wrong prescription. So they were sent back to the lab. My contacts finally arrived in the mail a week later, and were thankfully correct. But I was still without glasses. I was without glasses for about two weeks when I called the office again. My glasses had arrived a few days ago, but no one called to tell me. I needed to schedule ANOTHER appointment to pick them up (and this place is always running at least 15 minutes late from your scheduled appointment time). This time the prescription was correct, but I was not happy with how the glass looked. (The edge is unpolished and rough looking.) However, after 6 frustrating appointments with these people, I gave up and just took the glasses and left.
Long story short, Dr. Kline is great, but the staff running the desk and vision center are extremely unorganized and incompetent. I will never buy glasses/​contacts from these people again. In the end, I spent several hundred dollars and still am unhappy with the result.

Without any hesitation, Daniel Kline, MD deserves 5 stars. I had a uveitis coming in and I decided to Unilocal who is a reliable doctor around Irvine and gotta say… I don’t regret with the choice I made! They have friendly staff members who help you out at the front desk and Dr. Kline is very helpful and very knowledgable. Even though his schedules are usually packed, he will try to fit those who are in need into his schedules. I would recommend Dr. Kline to anyone who is in need of ophthalmologist.

Dr. Daniel Klein and his staff is exceptional. The patient care that I received was beyond excellent, it was an experience. No matter how far you have to drive this doctor is worth the distance. I give the business 6 stars.

If I was writing this review a couple of years ago for Dr. Kline only I would give this place 5 stars without hesitation. I am a huge fan of Dr. Kline, and he really worked with me to fix my dryness/​problems with contacts where other doctors just kept trying to up my prescription.
With my last visit however, my insurance has downgraded and I had to see the female doctor. She was not very friendly and got frustrated with me when I couldn’t see something in one of the exams (which I eventually saw when she adjusted the equipment). In addition, I had my lenses replaced in my old frames and they just aren’t what they used to be. The girl who helped me out also seemed to have her station a bit messy and was not as knowledgeable, forgetting one of the costs until I checked out. I think she’s new, so I get it, but definitely just not what I was used to from Kline’s office.
Selection of frames is limited and more on the expensive side.
Disappointed, I expected better even though I do recognize that I have gone from great insurance to not so great insurance.

I highly recommend Dr. Kline he is great very thorough and has excellent bedside manor. I explained to him all my concerns with my eyes and he addressed all my concerns very nice and professionally. He is very knowledgable and I felt very comfortable with him. I will be back for any future eye concerns I may have in the future.

A piece of sand got lodged under my eye lid. The first doctor tried flushing my eye 7 times and couldn’t get it out. Dr Kline’s office got me an appt within 2 hours. Dr Kline flipped over my eyelid and was able to spot and remove the fine grain of sand within a couple minutes. I am very appreciative and impressed

I arrived at the doctor’s office about half an hour ahead of my appointment time with all documentations filled out and ready to go. The staff promptly took me to the back for an initial exam and review of medical history.
Being to many doctor’s office lately, I have to say Dr. Kline and his staff truly uses their time well. At any given moment all of the exam rooms are occupied with a patient and the staff. Dr. Kline thoroughly gives verbal directions for the staff to work on with the patient while he addresses another.
The office is nice and clean and the staff is very polite and helpful.
Given this is my first visit at an ophthalmologist, I have to say Dr. Kline ran at least 15 different types of tests before coming to a conclusion and made very usely suggestions!
Highly recommended!

Dr. Kline is the best! He’s kind, compassionate and caring, He did my first cataract surgery which was done flawlessly! It was my worst eye, as 30 years prior I had a detached retina from a car accident! All those years, my vision in that eye was like trying to see underwater. I found him and I’m never gonna let him go! He just did my cataract surgery in my other eye 6 days ago and my vision is magnificent! I’m thrilled with him, Sandy and the entire staff. My husband goes to him and my late father-​in-​law who was 89 years old, hard of hearing and non ambulatory… loved Dr. Kline because as he put it «he’s good people». As quite a few other doctors would get frustrated because of the hearing issue (as he didn’t always put his hearing aids in).
I have and will continue to recommend him to everyone… again, «The Best».

Dr. Kline performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. I was so nearsighted that I had gotten to the point I could not even get satisfactory glasses or contacts. He was highly professional, competent and focused on my success. I would say his is one of the most satisfying and successful relationships I’ve had with a physician. He continues great follow up yearly. I tell people that the operations he performed were a true miracle in my life and have referred several people to Dr. Kline.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kline for many years. I have recommended him to both family members and friends. I am retired from the medical profession, and know how difficult it can be to deal with all types of personalities. It can be a real challenge. I think Dr Kline and his staff have a stellar reputation for kindness, fairness and excellent care. So far, I have been blessed with fairly decent eyesight, but as I age and my eyes start to fail me, Dr. Kline will be the one that I ask to take care of them for me.

I have been a patient of Dr. kline for over three years. I do not have major issues with my eyes but I am near sighted and now as I get older, I find I finally need reading glasses to complement my regular glasses. I have NEVER had such an easy time having my eyes refracted. Dr. Kline is a magician. In a few minutes he’s figured out my prescription and I find my vision is perfect. He has incredible credentials but he is not pompous or full of himself. He is kind and always cheerful and very thorough. His office is beautiful and his staff is friendly and welcoming. Dr. Kline is one of my favorite doctors and if I ever need him for something more serious, I know I would be in the best hands.

Dr. Daniel Kline and his staff are professional, courteous, detailed, caring, and above all, wanting the best medical care possible for his patients. Having been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes, and in doing my due diligence in researching doctors specializing in cataracts, I made several appointments with doctors that had been recommended. Was not happy with the consultations. Then I was referred to Dr. Daniel Kline by a doctor in Newport Beach. Dr. Kline did both cataract surgeries. He is conservative in wanting the best medical care possible. He listens and studies all facts and then makes a decision based on those facts.
Above all, I would recommend Dr. Kline to family, friends and beyond. Dr. Kline and his staff care about their patients in wanting the best outcome possible for their well-​being.
I consider Dr. Daniel Kline not only my doctor, but a friend. Upon entering his office, his staff is warm, friendly and considerate.

Dr Kline’s comments are self-​serving. I never refused a request as he never made one. His conclusion that I was rude and arrogant stems from the fact that I would NOT give him Identity Theft data such as my driver;s license number. I am an Identity Theft expert and know better. Dr Kline is not only arrogant but a liar, too. Feel free to sue me as the truth is an affirmative defense. If he is so shallow as to defend himself from my claims with lies, it raises concerns about his medical ethics. Buyer be ware.

I’m very critical of doctors… having worked with doctors for many years and having a few in the family I know when I come across one that is knowledgeable in their field. Dr. Kline is good. He is very thorough and to the point. I trust his opinion. I recommend him to anyone needing a good ophthalmologist.
