I went to Dr. Kao for a second opinion and he was very good at explaining the situation to me. The staff were nice too. Overall it was a great experience.

We first met Dr. Kao when he was at Kaiser briefly. He really supported us as we navigated the difficult world of unexplained infertility. He answered all of my endless questions, was supportive, knowledgable and professional. Although we didn’t need further treatments, as we got pregnant naturally, Dr. Kao was a most trusted doctor while we were going through the infertility clinic. I would highly recommend him.

Oh, where to begin. I love Dr Kao! It was hard enough to walk away from our treatment, but even harder to stop seeing Dr Kao.
We worked with Dr Kao for about a year, and although our adventure together did not end with a baby, we are forever grateful to Dr Kao and have remained in touch with him. (He’s very excited and supportive of our adoption plan.)
Dr. Kao’s approach to infertility treatment is sincere, personalized, and scientific. He is thoughtful, honest, dedicated and patient. But the absolute best part about Dr Kao is his sense of humour. Sure, we cried a lot during our treatment, but we also laughed a lot. If you don’t, you might lose your mind.
Unlike other infertility specialists we had worked with, Dr Kao always made us feel like we had 100 percent of his attention when we came into his office. He answered my emails and phone calls quickly and with calm assurance. He carefully guided us through our treatment and we never felt forced into any decision. He always provided us with as much data as we needed (and my husband required A LOT!) in order for us to make choice about our procedures.
Dr Kao’s expertise coupled his ability to explain things in a sincere and honest way, along with his sense of humour, make him an amazing and wonderful doctor. Infertility sucks, but it was bearable with Dr Kao on our team! If you’re considering infertility treatment, I highly recommend you set up a consultation with Dr Kao. You won’t regret it!

Dr. Kao helped my wife and me start our long line of descendants (umm, family) and for that I’m continually grateful.
When we started looking for a reproductive endocrinologist, we «interviewed» a number of Bay Area specialists, including the Zouves Fertility Center and Dr. Lee Kao came out on top by a mile! His attention to the specific details of our situation, vast knowledge of current research and that steady, reassuring bed-​side manner made him the winner. Now we have a very robust, insanely healthy baby boy! Sometimes, when I look over at him, I think I’m hallucinating, but then I realize that’s the lack of sleep speaking! We’re very happy and I very highly recommend Dr. Kao.

What do you say about a doctor who helped make your dreams of a child a reality? Dr. Kao will always have an important and special place in the hearts of our family.
That aside, the process of finding a reproductive endocrinologist, reminded me of planning my wedding. In the infertility industry, there is a lot of money being made from clients who are making emotionally supercharged decisions. With that, many doctors willingly take advantage of these vulnerable people in the interest of making a buck. So when my OBGyn referred me to a RE to help me get pregnant, in spite of being in my late thirties with a serious case of endometriosis, I interviewed three RE’s.
I had a face to face consultation with Dr. Kao and he was by far the best of the bunch. He was the only one that had specific knowledge about treating my situation, which was not the usual infertility case. Out of all three of the doctors, he came up with the best treatment plan for my needs. Since all fertility drugs worsen endometriosis, he felt the most aggressive option that also had the highest likelihood of succeeding (IVF) was best. The other two doctors didn’t disclose the information to me that the drugs needed for any level of treatment, would all make my condition worse.
IVF is no picnic, (read it’s fairly brutal) so I was even more relieved that I chose a physician of Dr. Kao’s caliber, after beginning my treatment. He listened to any concerns I had and made me as comfortable as possible. Additionally, he was always available via phone or email to answer my questions that came up between appointments.
Under Dr. Kao’s care, I was very blessed to have gotten pregnant during my first IVF cycle. Nine months later, I gave birth to my 9lb 6oz baby boy. :) My husband and I are so deeply grateful to Dr. Kao for his help in starting our family. I very highly recommend him to other women, especially those with endometriosis, looking for a knowledgeable, sincere and caring reproductive endocrinologist.
