Butterfli Me Makeup & Lash Studio

I have to say that I went back to Butterfli Me and the 2^nd time was a charm. Breana did a fabulous job on my eyelash extension fill. I received tons of compliments and they were just what I wanted. I will definitely be back.

I LOVE my new lashes! Thank you Kathleen! They are perfect! Looking forward to vacation with no mascara.

Kathleen did an amazing job on my lashes, and she informed me of everything I needed to know about getting them on.

I found about this place through groupon and I got a really nice deal on eyelash set.
It’s a very nice place in a nice area in Irvine. The room where they do your lashes is very cozy you could even take a nap while they’re doing them.
My eyelashes came out looking beautiful. I would have liked a little bit more volume but I was still happy.
My boyfriend who notices everything about me had a difficult time telling if they were fake so they apply them very well!
It’s been almost 3 weeks since I got them and I still have plenty left.
They suggested a special mascara which I didn’t get but I regret it, so I definitely suggest getting it!

It was my first experience getting lashes done and I had a Groupon to use. This was for a special event since there’s a family wedding coming up. I made an appointment for Sunday, May 8^th, since I was told that they needed 90-​minutes for an initial session. But the week before, they tried to call, then emailed me saying that they needed to reschedule me because they were going to be closed on Mother’s Day. That’s fine and all but they could have told me that 2 months ago when I made the appointment. And since I work M-​F, my next available date was May 10^th. She said she could squeeze me in at 5 pm since they close at 6 pm. Great but then they called again and emailed the day of, to see if I could come in earlier because my appointment was supposed to be 90 minutes long (and they close at 6), so I did my best to arrive at 4:45 pm. It turns out they had to email me because they had the wrong number for me; that has since been corrected for future visits.
I arrived and was greeted immediately. The location is over on Dupont & Jamboree in Irvine in the same plaza as the Daily Grill. There was another person there when I walked in and my esthetician was Jessica. Otherwise the place was pretty empty. I was escorted into a well lit back room and given a few documents to sign. She gave me the run down of what I should and should not do for my lash extensions and she asked me if this was my first time getting them. I started removing my makeup with a wipe and she told me I didn’t have to remove all of it just the eye makeup. Good to know! Then I got comfortable on the reclined chair and she went to work.
She asked me which type of lashes I wanted and I said the natural look but long and curled if possible. She said she was going to give me a «C» curl and use some lighter lashes on me. I told her whatever she thought was best was fine by me. It was a pretty relaxing experience for the most part. She taped down my lower lids and started applying the individual lashes. There was soothing music playing and I can see how people can fall asleep because your eyes are closed the entire time. She worked on one eye and moved to another giving time for the lashes on the other eye to dry. The glue smells faintly like Krazy glue at first, but the area was well ventilated. She brushed the lashes after a while and filled in more gaps if she wasn’t satisfied. She blew on them with a dryer to help with the glue and then sprayed a sealant on it too. There was very little discomfort by the time she was finished. The worst part was removing the tape from the bottom lashes. She gave me a mirror to take a look at my new extensions. It’s a little jarring if you’re not used to the length. I was given a spoolie brush to brush my new lashes with and a set of care instructions.
I walked out and saw that it was 5:54 when I presented my Groupon and gave her my tip. So much for 90 minutes, right? The lashes are longer than I’m used to but they do make my eyes pop. I was told to keep the lashes from getting wet the first 24 – 48 hours. Makeup wipes, FTW. So far so good. Let’s hope these lashes last until the wedding. They also do makeup application as well for when you need professional styling for a special occasion. The studio is brightly lit. Jessica was great too but the whole mess with the appointment was annoying. 3.5 stars.

This place is a joke. I felt lucky when I booked a same day appointment for a charity event I’m going later that evening. I bought the Groupon and looked at the reviews it seems all good. When I got there, the place is dead down, a lady greeted me and asked me which look I want from their look book. I have to say the app is thoughtful and I had high hope for this. But it went wrong from there, she took five me minutes to get right shades shadow and foundation in place to match the book. I also brought my own lashes, OK, another 5 dollars to apply my own lashes. What she was doing was nothing different than what I would do, the shimmering shade doesn’t even look like the one on the book, and the eyeliner is much shorter than that Hong Kong cat eye look.
Also, remember, if you want her to apply some shadow on your nose and cheek, that’s extra money for contouring!!! So the full look doesn’t even include normal shadowing and contouring?! What kind of makeup artists or studio practice like that?!
There’s worse, they dont even accept the Groupon I bought saying it’s Saturday and they only accept Groupon Monday-​friday!
Buyers be aware, this is straight out misrepresentation and non-​disclosure of key terms about time and limitations. They say it’s in the fine prints, but everyone buy local deals and vacation deals know the dàtes are important on Groupon. I told the lady to report this to her manager so other people won’t get misled. She’s simply rude and rejected saying they never had any problems before, basically saying I’m stupid?! How rude are those pseudo makeup artists and they don’t even accept a simple suggestion!!!
So folks, stay away from this place for the poor technique and poor consumer service!

My makeup artist (Taylor) was wonderful! Fast and talented. But the manager is extremely rude and ruined my whole experience. If you have a chance to go somewhere else, you should. Customer service is important and should not be overlooked.

I was really happy with my service here. My makeup artist was really detail oriented. I think she could tell I was nervous because I don’t normally wear that much makeup but I needed good makeup for engagement photos. The makeup looked great and came out perfect in pictures. My hair was a fishtail side braid and she made the front and back so pretty. Again it came out great in photos. Everyone was super friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend.

It was so easy to make an appointment and the price point can’t be beat for the huh quality experience. Such a luxurious atmosphere with everything one needs for any occasion. The gal that did my makeup was polite, sweet and did a very natural and beautiful look. I bought some face cleansers on the way out and they work very well.

I had no problem making my appointment or getting here. I had my event makeup done at Friday afternoon and this place was absolutely empty, it was crazy. My artist was Breana and she was absolutely wonderful and fun to hang out with.
What I’m not really a fan of is just picking a look from the Lookbook because it makes it feel so «cookie-​cutter.» I like telling the artist what I’m looking for and what colors I would most likely go for and they just magically know. That’s not how Breana rolls but that’s ok because she still made me look fabulous. I just tell her what my concerns are such as oily eyelids, runny liners on the corner and probably lots of crying at my event and she took care of it for me.
I decided to do the full on Chicago look which I was hesitant about since in the Lookbook the girl had creases on her eyelids which I thought might be the same for me. Breana reassured me that it wouldn’t happen which I was grateful for.
Breana is totally my go-​to girl to make me pretty again.

This is a cute little studio for make up and lashes. I got a full «Natural Look» lash set. I booked with Jessica and she did a great job on my lashes. I’ve been to places that have taken 2+ hours to give me the same look, she only took 90 mins. Prices are more than reasonable for the services. They were really easy to book with and I look forward to coming back.

An amazing Groupon find! Initially made my appointment through their website with a specific Make Up Artist, but when I checked in, was helped and Glammed Up by Brianna!
She was very informative and did exactly what I wanted and desired through the images I showed her for the look I was going for for my Maternity Session.
I loved the finish look and how friendly she was as well!
In addition, this place is so neat and welcoming!
I’d highly suggest and I will be coming back!

I bought a groupon deal and scheduled an appointment since I had a wedding to attend. First of all, my makeup artist was late by 10 minutes and she was very slow. I picked a look I wanted and she struggled to find all the makeup she needed. Maybe it’s because I am Asian and she wasn’t used to doing Asian eyes, but my makeup came out horrific. She didn’t even do my eyebrows completely and struggled to put on mascara/​eyeliner and I ended up looking ridiculous. I had to hurry back home so that I could fix my makeup before heading out to a wedding. Very disappointed.

Just so you know, they WILL cancel your appointment and NOT notify you beforehand until you show up. Its okay if life happens and they need to cancel your appointment, but they are running a business and a customer deserves to know if an appointment is being canceled. POINT BLANK PERIOD! and they end up calling back AFTER you check in. And change their story. It’s a business. Be professional.

You have to try lashes at Butterfli Me! I have always wanted to do this and finally took the plunge. My lash artist, Jessica, was amazing. She explained in detail the process and made sure what she did was the look I was going for. It does take 1.5 hours, but during that time you rest comfortably under soft/​warm blankets and listen to music and just chill. I think I even dozed off a few times.
Love the look. Don’t need mascara. Can use less eye makeup and still have my eyes pop, or actually don’t need any make up at all and still have a great look.
If you’ve been wanting to treat yourself — do it. Seriously. Makes you feel great just rolling out of bed!
Highly recommend Jessica too, although I’m sure all of the lash stylists are as thorough and professional as she was.

I just got eyelash extensions from Butterfli Me and could not be happier with the results! I highly recommend coming here to get your eyelashes and make up done. The studio is gorgeous and everyone is extremely professional and highly knowledgable.

Unilocal brought me here when i made a search for brows. It was my first time and the lady who did them for me walked me through each step of the process. Very kind woman. She introduced me to sugaring. A mixture of honey and other items that act as a less harmful way for waxing. After she was done, my brows still kept their natural shape which I liked.
When it came to make-​up application I got someone new. I got someone named Lexi. She was a little on the younger side, but she was so knowledeable on all things makeup. I only paid for the basic package, but she still went to town on my face. She just explained that she just likes to do a good job. She was really funny and made me feel comfortable through out the whole experience. She asked me every step of the way if i liked what she was doing.
I also forgot to say that when i walked in, the first thing i noticed was that the establishment was very clean and looked very new. I was greeted right away and was offered coffee. I sat in their furnished waiting area until they were ready for me.

Came here to get my makeup done before my parents’ anniversary dinner and Kathleen did an awesome job. I gave her free reign as the expert and I love what she did! My eyes looked great with the natural-​looking false lashes she used and my eye makeup complimented my dress.
This is by far, the coolest idea! Other than going to the make-​up counter, where you feel pressured to buy anything and everything, where can you really go to get make-​up done for a special occasion? This is your answer! They also offer blow out services, mobile service, and tutorials. I can’t wait to go back!

Yay I found my new favorite place for eyelash extensions.
I’ve gotten my lashes done many times and from different places. I found to like this place the most. I came here wanting a full set for an upcoming trip. I was surprised how large and clean the studio was. When you walk in there is the reception desk and the main room. There’s plenty of places to do hair and makeup. They also were selling products of the owner on the side. There were also other rooms for other beauty needs. My lash girl brought me into a private room for my lashes. It was also very clean in there and comfortable. They provided a blanket for me which I was thrilled about. The girl who did my lashes was fast and a pleasure to talk to. I just told her I wanted it long since I will be taking a lot of photos. She did them but somehow it still looks very natural but with the fullness I wanted. I have gotten so many compliments since then. More so than other places I have been too. It’s been a week now and they have been holding up pretty well.
This studio also provides makeup, nails, and other beauty services here. They also have a cute mobile car that can come to you as well. I want to come back and try their other services but for sure I would come back for their eyelash extensions.

Shiver and Sherene worked wonders for my previously hopeless eyebrows. I have never known how to fill them in (I have light brows) they were kind enough to show me what to use and waxed them perfectly for me. Will be back again for sure.

I purchased a living social deal for the make-​up lesson. The salon itself is really cute and I will definitely be back for make-​up application for special events since the prices are super reasonable. If I were just going for make-​up application the place would get 5 stars BUT I was there for a LESSON.
The living social deal said «Make-​up artist will transform half of your face, then teach you how to do the other half to match.» Well that did not happen. The girl applied the makeup to my entire face and did not really instruct me on how to do it. I’m pretty decent at applying my own make-​up so I was hoping to brush up on those skills. I didn’t touch the makeup brushes once so it really wasn’t a lesson, it was more of a make-​up application. How are you supposed to learn when your eyes are closed??? Did I look great? Of course. Did I learn anything? Not really. I was a little disappointed as I was looking forward to picking up some tips.

What a fabulous studio/​shop. The online availability to choose your look and see what goes best with your eye color was a great service. My make-​up was stunning. The staff and owner is awesome! Very professional, knowledgeable, down-​to-​earth and easy to work with. Bought a variety of products and love them all. My girlfriend and I had a great time and will definitely be back. I now also have the phone application. They’ve thought of everything.

Beautiful makeup and a fun environment.
I love makeup and get mine done at a store a few times a year. But at a store, the makeup people have to stop and wait on clients and the entire thing can take over an hour.
At Butterfli Me — all is different. Your makeup artist is only working on you and whatever look you pick out. I looked through the Look Book and while there were several I liked, I tried «Nashville» for something different and it was great. When I got home even my husband noticed and complimented me on the makeup.
The studio is gorgeous and the staff is so welcoming you feel like you are an invited guest. Feels almost like you are getting ready at a friend’s fabulous house!
Loved my look and was really impressed with the quality of the products. I bought two great eye shadows, a bright eyeliner and a fresh pink lipstick and have been getting compliments from coworkers almost daily.
The bad part was trying to pick only one look to try — so I’ll have to come back soon. I’m also interested in the eyelash extensions and learned that you can even do eyebrow extensions? Who knew?

I had a great experience with my makeup artist «Shiver». I made an appointment online for a full makeup application. I found the website very user-​friendly and the «Look Book» very helpful to help me decide what look I was hoping for. The front desk staff were very friendly and within minutes upon my arrival I was being seated with my makeup artist. She was very professional, timely, and easy to chat with. I felt comfortable letting her know what my skin concerns were and how much coverage I was hoping for. I’m in my forties and have a couple of «age spots» from my sun loving days! She showed me products that were relevant to what I was sharing with her. She had a few great suggestions and even a tip or 2 that I had not tried before! I consider myself pretty adept to my own personal makeup application and have even done many of my girlfriends wedding makeup over the years. That being said, I found Butterfli Me to be a fun and affordable resource for when I want to learn new techniques, have a fun girl’s outing or simply «kick it up a notch» for a date night! I truly enjoyed my time and experience I had at Butterfli Me. The décor is modern yet very comfortable and relaxing. Very hip with a very welcoming friendly vibe. Love the location as well! Looking forward to signing up for my monthly applications! I’ll be back!

Ok, ok I had to make them a Unilocal because they just opened their studio and I was invited by Shiver for their friends & family event. Their studio was so glamorous, clean and open! In addition I met a lot of the makeup artist crew and they were all lovely and friendly!!! I will definitely recommend this place to everyone and if you need to get done up — this is your place to go! I will be back here soon
