Hubby and I love this joint; too bad it’s 45 minutes away. Best cheese curds we’ve had since moving to MN from CA… and we’ve tried a LOT of curds from a LOT of different places. Also, great pizzas and burgers to fill you up right. If weather permits, sit out on the deck and enjoy the Mississippi River roll by(or, if it’s frozen, watch the ducks commune on the ice). Bartenders Todd and Jake are worthy of knowing by name, and Jake makes one hell of a Bloody Mary. C’mon, people: this isn’t a restaurant. It’s a dive bar! And Drifter’s does that job well.

This is kind of a little hole-in-the-wall place, but the food is decent and so are the prices. We sat out on the deck overlooking the Mississippi river watching boats go up and down the river. The Mississippi Pub is just up the road from it and has a deck as well, but their deck gets the evening sun, and it gets kind of hot. Drifters is shaded quite nicely by a large tree. The only downside was that we were at a high top table, and they don’t have high top highchairs.(They do have lower tables, but they were all taken when we got there.)
