Inver Grove Toyota

They were outstanding. The service across the board was terrific and was not at all pushy or salesy. They are the most transparent and up front dealership that I have ever been. I had visited over 5 dealerships in addition and they were the one that made me feel at ease immediately. Casey was my associate and he was exactly the type of rep I needed. I was in no mood to haggle or fool around so his openness and friendly demeanor was a deciding factor for me. I highly recommend them and will most likely get another from them in the future.

Just left Inver Grove Toyota, very pleased. Here is how I can sum this experience up… I grew up in Michigan, and at the time, Toyota was not a nice word. I am a pretty big Ford fan, but the truth is, they have nothing to compare to the 4Runner. I am seriously infatuated with this vehicle.
Working with Lindsay was a great experience, even when we had to wait a bit for some details to be worked out. This is no small feat for someone with an attention span as short as mine. We were treated like royalty, couldn’t have asked for more.

I seem to write reviews of positive experiences at places that other people continually have negative experiences at; I don’t know why. At any rate, we’ve been taking our 2005 Toyota Tacoma here for the past 5 years and have never had anything short of awesome customer service. They’re always upfront and honest with us, know us by name when we walk in, and are always very friendly.

I have been a customer at IG Toyota since 2011 and have leased 3 cars with them now. When it comes time for maintenance there usually an appointment time available asap. Every experience I’ve had with the sales team has been wonderful. Most recently I worked with Lindsay to lease a new Rav4. She did an amazing job and was really easy to work with. I highly recommend asking for Lindsay if your in need of a new car, she’s super knowledgeable and really easy to talk to. When it came time to lease she had everything ready to go and I was literally in and out in like an hour. I worked with Jessica in the finance office and she was a delight as well, she was efficient and really friendly. I absolutely see myself coming back to IGT for my next car and hope that Lindsay will still be there to help me out!

The service department is both non-​motivated and not helpful. I picked up a part (the parts guy Al is awesome, he had my part ready after I said I would be right down) and asked the service department about a service for my VW finish. The service manager said– uh maybe we can do this… its not really a service we do. Then I asked if he could take a look and he said he did have enough service guys– but the place was empty. He didn’t even offer to schedule until I asked «when can you take a look?» I came here before and had to get the alignment done twice, they didn’t do it right the first time. Additionally, I put some paperwork forth for a price matching rebate and the same manager never followed through. Stay away, this place is bad news.

I contacted inver grove Toyota to get information and pricing for a Highlander. They did not respond as quickly as I would have liked. I had specific questions about pricing and wanted details about costs and fees. One of the sales reps did respond and offered $ 100 over invoice. I said that would be great and asked for the out the door price. The next day, I hadn’t heard anything by noon, so I sent another email with my questions. I got a response from a Mr Hayes saying that he was not going to «bid for my business» because the demand was high and they didn’t have very many vehicles to choose from.
Basically, he didn’t want to take the time to answer my questions.
Was I being a pain in the behind? Yes, I’m sure I was. But, other dealerships managed to answer my questions. Basically, I just wanted some hard numbers to compare apples to apples. Unfortunately, they were unwilling to take the time to respond to my questions.
So, apparently Inver Grove Toyota doesn’t have many vehicles, so they don’t need anymore customers! Since they don’t seem to want business, I am going (and would suggest that others as well) go elsewhere!

My parents bought a brand new 2015 Toyota Prius from them but aren’t computer savvy enough to leave their review. After 5 ½ hours of sitting in the salesman’s office (they weren’t sure why, but were constantly told just a little longer while the car gets detailed, etc) they left the dealership with only one key to the car and NO gas in the tank. Then after having it a few days, the radio cut out. They brought it back to the dealership to have it fixed and were informed that there was a rodents nest under the hood and substantial damage was done.
At first, they expected my parents to use their insurance to cover the cost of the repair because the warranty doesn’t cover this type of damage. My parents brought the matter to the attention of the general manager who said they’ll pay for the costs after admitting that this had been a known issue on their lot with 13 other cars. My parents were extremely unhappy with their experience and trying to make it right with the dealership was like drawing blood from a stone. The general manager even told us that we’re lucky they’re covering the cost of the damage (from THEIR lot)!
The manager in the service department is doing a good job in overseeing the fixes and thoroughly checking the car for rodent damage, but the sales department is stereo-​typically slimy. The customer service at this dealership stops once you sign the check.

It’s a little strange to see so many negative reviews of this dealership, when my experiences have been uniformly positive.
Perhaps the sales department is run under different principles than the garage portion of the business. Or, perhaps the stress of purchasing a new vehicle combines with buyer’s remorse in a particularly nasty way (I have no experience with buying a new car, and only a little experience with buying used, so beats me).
I have only recently started driving again, after many years of pedestrian/​transit locomotion. I have an ’07 Prius, and when I asked around, other Prius drivers suggested Inver Grove as a good place to take it for service. I think I got good advice.
I’m naturally inclined to distrust mechanics, and yet I’ve found the staff at Inver Grove to be very helpful and (seemingly) very honest. They don’t push unnecessary repairs or purchases, at least in my experience. Instead, I frequently leave having spent LESS money than anticipated. When I took my car in last week, I had scheduled about $ 190 worth of services (filters, fluids, alignment, brakes, seasonal tire swap, etc.). The tech walked through each requested item with me, and shaved roughly $ 50 off the final bill by removing redundant/​unnecessary work.
On the occasions that a problem has been discovered or an error made, the staff has kept me updated frequently and made efforts to give discounts on the bill. They have even elected to make a few repairs completely free of charge. Not as in me arguing with them until they comp me something, but as in them just doing so, unprompted.
Basically, these mechanics have — so far — inspired my trust. Given the reputation of that occupation, I’d say that’s pretty impressive.

I had such a disappointing experience at this dealership. I was ready to purchase a car that day, and thinking that the dealership would be ready to get a fast sale, I visited IGH Toyota. Both the sales person and his manager absolutely refused to negotiate — even one penny. They told me they wouldn’t do it and thanked me for coming in. I’ve never heard of a car salesperson who doesn’t negotiate!
On top of that, I did have a car for trade in. They offered me significantly less than the Kelly Blue Book value for a dealer trade in, stating «There are a lot of scratches» (one ¼ inch door ding), and all the prep work they do for used car sales.
The next day, the sales person called and asked how my car search was going. When I mentioned I bought a car that same day from another dealer, he asked «Oh, so they saved you a few bucks, huh?» and when I mentioned they had actually come down quite a bit more than that, he said «Well, good luck then» and hung up the phone.
I may have been ready to buy a car that day, but I certainly wasn’t desperate enough to give Inver Grove Toyota my business!

Nicest Toyota dealership ever. Went in for some basic recall and they treated me like I was buying a brand new car! They gave me free caribou coffee in a sippie cup while one of the bigger salesman cradled me and softly sung me to sleep. Once I woke up they carried me to my car and gently placed me into it. I’ve never felt so loved in my life. Later on they decided that they found me adorable enough to adopt! So now I’ve recently left my orphanage and I’m off to have my very own family for the first time. I’m gonna miss everyone at the orphanage but they’ll eventually find new mommies and daddies. Maybe they’ll have some luck at the nearby Nissan or Chevy dealerships!

I am currently an MBA student who will soon graduate with a significant salary. Because of this, my boyfriend and I decided to checkout new, fun cars. We went to Inver Grove Toyota to test drive and look at the Scion FRS. The staff there treated us like we weren’t worth their time and refused to allow us to try the car. They may have a policy to not let people drive the FRS, but the upsetting thing for me was that they treated us like trash. There was no offer for followup or application or anything. They just stared us down until we left.
Their loss as I will be happy to buy my FRS and Prius at another place. Do not go here if you want to be treated well!

My review was posted in December. The vehicle I complained they were baiting with is still listed for sale on Carsdotcom. It should be illegal…

UPDATE: it’s been more than a year since my review and, despite my best attempts at removal, I’m still getting calls from sirius/​xm radio about my non existent Toyota that this dealership never sold me. WORST EVER DEALERSHIP.

They’re lucky I gave them 1 star.
My husband and I went to go look at used trucks, which we understand are more expensive than a used car. The salesman was rude, condescending, and pushy.
I found the same truck that this man was pushing on us online for sale, and was able to look at the carfax they provided. This salesman ‘forgot to mention’ that this truck had been in TWO accidents. He also said that we were getting a ‘return customer’ discount. However, the price we were given was the SAME as they advertised it for online.
I will NEVER go here again. I have purchased many vehicles from Maplewood Toyota without any problems, I suggest you go there & save yourself the headache and frustration.

Never again!!! I did not purchase my car here but have free oil changes for the life of my warranty through Toyota. I have always come in with an appointment for my oil changes. I’ve never waited less than 1 and ½ hours– FOR AN OIL CHANGE!!! Last time I checked it usually takes less than half an hour. Then what exactly is the poky of having an appointment?! I’ve decided it’s not worth my time and I will pay to have it changed in 15 minutes. There were no less than 13 service people standing around when I brought my car in so I guess I’m not sweeping the point in making us wait over and hour for a simple oil change. Ill gladly take my business elsewhere where they realize people have lives.

I’ve personally purchased 2 cars from Inver Grove Toyota and my parents have purchased 1 car from here. I bought my first car prior to it becoming part of Denny Hecker’s auto empire, I bought my second car while it was part of Denny Hecker, and my parents bought their car after Denny Hecker went to jail.
The sales staff here is terribly trained. The first time I bought a car here I was in high school; my mom and I were completely ignored by the male sales people roaming the lot even though we and they made eye contact several times (they were in their 20s and 30s). It wasn’t until a female sales person came outside that we were helped. It only took her a minute to recognize that we were serious buyers and not just lolly-​gagging around. Sales Tip #1: Guys may know more about cars, but mama holds the purse strings.
The second time I bought a car here, I had just completed college, started a new job, and was looking for a new car. I had cash to spend. Yet again, I was ignored by the sales staff because I was too young looking for them to acknowledge and they were chasing «bigger fish» (yet again, male staff in their 20s and 30s). I wasn’t helped until the grandpa-​like sales man walked out of the building and asked if I had questions. After the other unhelpful sales men heard that I was purchasing they were all smiles and fawning — too late boys, you should’ve done your job. A couple years after I got my car, the sales guy that sold it too me said that Toyota was transferring him to Maplewood Toyota: to become the manager there. I don’t know if he’s still there, but his name was Henry Lee — really a helpful sales person. Sales Tip #2: If you do your job like you’re supposed to and you do it well, you’ll get promoted. Which means more $$$.
My parents decided after 15 years that they needed a new van. Without any kids to haul around they splurged on upgrades. The day they were supposed to pick up the car, my mom couldn’t get out of work early and told the sales guy that she would be there at 6:15 pm. He responded that she had to be there by 6 pm or she couldn’t get her car because the sales floor closed at 6 pm and the finance department wasn’t planning to stay. She responded that if they didn’t think staying 15 extra minutes was worth a $ 40K+ sale than she didn’t need a new car. He responded that «they had talked it over» and the finance department was willing to stay.
I recommend HIGHLY for Toyota customers to go to Burnsville Toyota instead as they have excellent customer service. There is a reason why Burnsville as won the coveted Toyota President’s Award annually for more than a decade whereas Inver Grove has nothing to show. I never take internal company awards seriously, however after experiencing customer service at both Burnsville and Inver Grove I wholeheartedly believe that Toyota’s assessment standards for award winners truly highlight those dealerships that go above beyond just hawking cars to their customers.
