I really enjoyed the buying and service experience here. Everyone I encountered was friendly and professional.
Yes, we know money’s involved, yet it wasn’t the «bottom line» here with folks. They actually seem to care that you’re happy and satisfied. Because I fell in love with VWs when I bought my Beetle a few years ago, I wanted another. It was too expensive to repair and I also needed a larger vehicle for my ever-​growing son to fit into.
I purchased a used Tiguan. the only issue is that the previous owner was a disgusting smoker (yes, I said it). They’ve done a treatment to get rid of the smell, and it’s better, but not yet gone. I was advised to wait a week before contacting them again if the odor isn’t gone. I’m not sure if anything can get out the smell completely. Will ask them to give it another go.
Another thing happened with the emergency brake. They fixed it quickly and without hassle.
I’m very happy with my Tiguan and know that I’ll be back to Volkswagen of Inver Grove when next in the market for a vehicle.

Always have taken great care of me. Nick on the service Dept. is tops and Darek has always been awesome. Had to have a service today and while that is never fun the dealership quoted me $ 200 less than the three other shops I called. I have also bought both my cars from here and the experience has always been awesome! I will continue to bring my cars here for service due to their great service.

Bait and switch sales department. Knew I was coming in to discuss trade in to order a specific new VW and that I was coming from a long way. They then told me when I got there that they can’t order this car, take the one they have or leave it, and never offered to appraise my trade-​in. Complete waste of a long drive to get there.

I brought my car in for a radio-​related repair. During the routine inspection, it was brought to my attention that the service staff had found a nail in my tire. I appreciated them letting me know and went to take a look. I decided to patch it, and told them to go ahead and take care of it while I was in when one of the service staff remarked «Yeah, it’d be a shame if you got a flat tire while you were at the mall.»
I find that sort of commentary condescending and sexist, and it certainly doesn’t create the sort of environment I want to be spending my money in. And since I apparently spend most of my time at the mall, and not my place of employment, I really need to watch my spending when I can. I won’t be visiting Volkswagen of Inver Grove again.

I will start by saying I LOVED the Jetta I drove and it would have been one of my top two in the list of all the cars I test drove (which was a lot) and I would have likely purchased it, except my experience at the dealer made me never want to go back.
I was looking for a new car and was going to buy one by the end of the week. I had been all over town looking at cars when I came to Volkswagen of Inver Grove to test drive the 2015 Jetta (on a Tuesday night). I was greeted by salesman who gave me the we don’t work on commission pitch (I have come to find out in my car buying adventure these types are the least pleasant dealerships to work with). I told him I was looking to test drive the Jetta and he proceeded to pull up all the options they had. I asked about one I saw on their website that for whatever reason was marked $ 1000 less than the others with the same features. He was able to pull it up and see that same price. He went to look for it and apparently after discussing it with his manager is was a typo on the website but since I had seen it listed for that (and he had too) the manager would honor that price. So he pulled up the car and we went for a drive.
While we were driving I asked him what the warranty on VWs were. I knew most manufacturers warranty’s by this point but the dealer didn’t have it easily accessible on their website (or maybe I missed it). The salesman couldn’t tell me what the warranty was! After he mumbled a bit about it, he said well you can add things and make it whatever you want. Well, yes you can do that at most places too; but all cars come with some type of warranty with out paying for additional ones.
We get back and he went to run some numbers for me. He comes back and the first words out of his mouth were «I’m not trying to pressure you but my manager will only honor that lower price for tonight» I looked at him and said I am NOT making a decision tonight there are still other cars I want to test drive. He said that’s fine but if you come back it will be the higher price. Here’s the thing, it was their typo not mine and I was asking for 3 days not 3 weeks. If they really cared about customer satisfaction (and I had told them I would not be buying anything that night) they would have honored that price for the 3 days.
What bums me out is I loved the Jetta but refused to go back to this dealer. Give me the commissioned dealers anyday!

I came to Inver Grove for a Volkswagen after having a dismal experience at Schmelz. I had leased a car 4 years before and my term was ending. What had been a favorite dealership, quickly fell from grace after dealing with a subpar salesman. Despite a wonderful online chat conversation with Angela, I walked into Inver Grove with a chip on my shoulder. EVERY person I talked to, from the manager to the finance guy, was super nice and professional. And Jaime, the salesman, was so wonderful. He was perfectly professional and eased my mind. I’ve leased a lot of cars, but I hadn’t done a lot of test driving. We drove and drove and drove. And when I said I was going to Ford to test drive a few more, he made it clear he wanted my business but didn’t trash Ford or pressure me. Class act. The next day I was back, and he patiently rode along on test drives with me again and answered ALL of my questions. Jaime earned his wings while waiting for me to decide on colors, options, and even what car I wanted. The finance dude was super fun and thorough. And when I picked up my car, it was spotless. Looking forward to doing more work with them.

I’m very pleased with my service experiences here. Work is done on time at competitive prices. Service writers are friendly and take the time to explain the basis for their recommendations. There is a clear commitment to putting the customer first that has been obvious in all my interactions with staff here. They offer an express oil change that is a bargain, even considering the full synth my Passat requires. Tip: give them your email address and you will get decent coupons in return.

We bought a certified pre owned 2008 VW Passat and love it! I saw the car online and came in for a test drive. Kurt was easy to work with and none of the high pressure salesmanship. Their upfront no haggle price jived with the research I did online. And the car is in excellent condition.
My husband and I came back the next day and were financed and out the door in less than two hours. Rick was helpful and gave us several financing options. Overall it was an easy and efficient process.

A friend of mine and I went car shopping and we found a 2009 diesel Jetta that we both fell in love with. She being indecisive, I went to my bank got approved for the same car and gave her an ultimatum, that she either purchase the car or I would. To make the story short, she ended up buying the car. I found a similar car, a wagon diesel actually, it looked still like in new condition. Fast forward, I took the car for a test drive and almost bought it that night. However, I went home to think about it, but it just wasn’t the manual sedan diesel that I almost had. Anyway, I was told that I would also be able to sell my vehicle outright, and that is what I decided to do until I could find the perfect car. I called a head of time to make sure they would have time for me and they said they had all night. I left work early and when I got there, I was greeted right away with we’re really busy right now. And that at the time of our call, they weren’t so they had all the time in the world. Anyway, their story was that they were too busy to purchase a car «off the street» as oppose to a trade in, and was told pretty much to walk. They did offer an older vehicle which would have been a down grade in comparison to my current car, which added a bit to the insult. I’ve shopped for cars around quite a bit, and never have I been treated this bad. I feel that if they wanted to keep my business they should have approached me differently, as oppose to someone just wasting their time. I drove all the way from Burnsville just because they had the car which I thought it would be easy to fall in love with. I’ve had plenty of break ups in my youth and now, I am super picky specially if it will cost me 23 grand. I would recommend doing a lot of searching online, and not going to this dealer unless they have the car you know you need and want, because from my experience, they don’t give a dime.

I recently leased a VW GTI from Ryan Wichman, a sales consultant. Inver Grove was the last VW dealer on my list based on proximity to my home, but after getting the hard-​sell from Burnsville VW, too much drama from Westside VW, and no attention to detail from Maplewood (Schmelz?) VW, I finally called Ryan, and he was perfect. In addition to being a one-​price dealer, Ryan listened attentively to exactly what I wanted, responded promptly, and could actually respond via email in a professional manner.
