Glen Oaks Inn

Used the living social deal for this inn and had a great weekend! Linda and Mitch were very friendly and were always available if we needed them. We had a great time on the heated porch and the breakfast was delicious. The beds were also VERY comfortable! I would recommend this inn!

The inn keeper was rude and unprofessional with my wife from the initial reservation. When she called to reschedule, which was well in advance of the reservation, she was met with apparent frustration by the inn keeper who was barely accommodating. My wife is very hard to upset, so when she told me that she did not even want to stay at this place due to the inn keeper, I knew there was a major problem.
Due to unforeseen work demands, I had to reschedule a second time in which I called to speak with the inn keeper myself. I immediately saw what my wife was describing. Even after I apologized for the inconvenience, she was overtly rude and completely inflexible, complaining that the cost of the voucher was so low that she can’t keep moving reservations around regardless of if she has availability or not. I travel extensively for my job, and have never experienced this level of indigence with any hotel I have stayed in, let alone a B&B which is suppose to epitomize hospitality.
From the pictures and posts by other guests, it appears to be a nice B&B, but so are many others in the area, all of which I’m sure have a much more warm and inviting presence than this one. Bottom line, its okay to disregard one or two negative posts about the same thing, but when you see numerous ones its a good idea to take heed…

Stayed here for 2 nights in room 8, a family room with a queen in one room and two twins in an adjoining room. This is not my first B and B, so i didn’t expect the ritz, but i did expect more then was provided.
The main floor is nice, several common areas and a hearted porch as well the dining room. Wallpaper everywhere, looks and feels as old as the outside of the house.
The accommodations were not nice. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The carpet old tired and stained. There were dead lady bugs everywhere. The wifi was sporadic and the water pressure in the shower was non existent.
Breakfast. The food was good, just don’t expect any variations or extras from the stated menu. The inn keepers hospitality could use an overhaul along with the rest of the inn.
Would not recommend unless in a pinch as we were.

What a disappointment after reading glowing reviews on their website. We asked for the Cottle cottage figuring the most expensive room available would be the nicest. Décor was a bit tired and a very creaky bed. Bathroom needed a good clean, and could use a fresh paint job and new blinds. Breakfast was overlooked and cold. Guests sit at individual tables which is not conducive to conversation.

Very poor customer service. They don’t return emails and refuse to honor vouchers. I contacted them well in advance to reschedule a reservation due to a family emergency, but they didn’t get back to me. I finally got in touch with them and the owner was quite rude to me. I even asked if I could transfer the reservation/​voucher to someone and she stated no.

What a perfect weekend away! The inn keepers Mitch & Linda were very sweet and welcoming, they went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our room was very cute and cozy for two people. Breakfast was amazing, especially with Linda’s pastries! Mitch and Linda were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and were sure to point us in the right direction. I believe the inn was full while we were staying there but you would never know, everyone had plenty of space to do their own thing. We also took full advantage of the pool in the afternoon after a long hike. This is a fantastic place and would recommend it to all!

This is a great inn!!! Mitch and Linda are great hosts, we went here for memorial day weekend and they stayed open just for us! Very clean rooms and after a day of hiking when we came back all our clothing was neatly folded on our bed. Mitch and Linda definitely go the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The room looked a lot nicer then on the website and breakfast was excellent (as well as their home-​made lemonade). Also the price was very reasonable, especially for what you get.
In short — Great stay. Great location. Great price and Great people.

Recently tried to use a Livingsocial for Glen Oaks which ended in a very rude conversation. We bought the Weekend certificate (which costs more than the weekday option), hoping to stay on a Thursday-​Friday night. The woman who we talked to on the phone was extremely rude and condescending when we asked if we could use it on one weeknight and one weekend night, (which should be a plus for them considering Saturday night is a much higher revenue generating night compared to Thursday). She then told us we should book that Thursday and Friday at the regular rate instead… Needless to say if she was a little more helpful we would have most likely gone with the weekday option, but she turned us sour to the thought of this place altogether.
Two stars simply for the fact that this place looked very nice and I would have loved to spent a couple days there, but it unfortunately does not hold their customer service, or common sense when it comes to revenue, to high standards.

This is a wonderful inn! We spend a weekend there and loved everything about it. Mitch and Linda, the owners, are great. They were both funny, warm and accommodating but not overly friendly. They gave us our space. The room was sweet and cozy and there were lots a little touches that made us feel at home. The breakfasts were superb. Mitch’s cooking and Linda’s baking made for a wonderful meal. Get there if you can. I would imagine that any season would be great.

On a whim, we decided to take a last minute trip up to the White Mountains. On a holiday weekend. They managed to have a room available, so we grabbed it.
The inn was comfortable and the innkeepers were incredibly accommodating and nice to us, even when we asked to switch out the breakfast. We loved our room with the standard fireplace, even if the Victorian style doesn’t really match us — it’s part of this inn’s charm.
We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to NH!
