Studio 2000 Salon & Day Spa

The most relaxing wax I have ever had. My waxer was thorough and followed my request of full hard wax instead of their normal combo hard and soft/​strip wax. The room was very clean, and the towels instead of paper that gets ripped was a nice touch. More spa-​Like than clinical. Also the cheapest Brazilian in the area!

Booked services last minute for much needed R&R. The salon itself was beautiful and the staff was pleasant. I will say that the four star rating is a result of my experience with my masseuse. I can honestly say that it was the best massage I have ever had! Looking forward to my next visit!

I met God today. She was a petite blonde girl, sporting size 6 ½ green booties and what appeared to be MAC lipstick, in ‘Lady Danger’.
She graciously forgave my 20+ minute tardy, still listened to what I wanted, DIDN’T opt for the quickest option when given some latitude, and above all else– accommodated my inability to make small talk.
I’ve been to several high-​end salons in Indy now, with mostly disastrous results. In EVERY other salon, I had to ask for color barrier to be applied and was often met with a sigh. She applied it. Even when it seemed like perhaps her sugar was dropping (?) she quickened the application of color but maintained the integrity. After shampooing, she jumped to the cut. Towards the end, her next client had arrived. You could tell she was anxious to move on (understandably so, it had been a while and my silence is typically awkward) yet still, she cut quickly but didn’t half-​ass it.
The blow out was fast but flawless and what sealed the deal was– hands down– SHE WENT BACK AND DRY CUT IT. I’ve looked for this every place and never even came close. I’ve only had it done in Boston, where I’m from– on my hair, it makes a HUGE difference.
She wasn’t pushy, didn’t make me feel unfriendly; she just kinda rolled with everything. Her mouth muscles are (seemingly) one of her tells in regards to aggravation but I didn’t see anything bothersome towards myself.
I have found in Indianapolis, that Hannah is most definitely the exception– and NOT the rule.
She was very professional. I will recommend her to anyone and everyone. Great job.

I really enjoyed my spa day. I got a massage with lavender and hot stones and a facial and pedicure. Everything was so relaxing and my toes came out looking great. I would come here again… The parking was frustrating though. (I got towed because I parked in the circle out front). Other than the parking, it’s a cute place and there is Starbucks next door.

Called for last minute mani pedi and got in! So relaxing, with private pedi room where I let my sore dogs soak and relax. They carry Essie which is a fave. Will probably revisit next time I’m in Indy!

I recently relocated to Indy from Naperville, IL and hadn’t given any salons a try due to prior hair disasters. I finally worked up the courage to give this one a try after having it recommended by a friend.
Aleshia did my hair — a balayage — and did amazing! I gave her an idea of what I was thinking and told her to do what she thought was best. I LOVE (D) IT! My hair was shiny, glossy, and much healthier looking after. The difference is incredible! I really love how it turned out and will being going back to her for all my hair needs! My only half-​compliant would be the price, but I guess you get what you pay for, right? My balayage, trim, and small bottle of shampoo was about $ 200. But again, worth every penny!

Wow is this place nice. It smells incredible, has a sick view onto the circle, and employs the kindest people. The place was bustling and we were helped immediately. I got a basic haircut, yet it was the best ones I’ve ever had. They gave me a full scalp massage that I almost fell asleep during (it was so relaxing) and asked questions like «do you want a foot rest while we wash your hair?» They are all about customer needs and comfort and therefore the whole experience is worth the price. I personally got the haircut free because of a promotional deal for first-​timers, but saw the value that goes way beyond your average haircut. Check them out!

Don’t go for a pedicure. $ 70 and not any different than in a strip mall. Cold, cramped room, ripped chair, didn’t even know it had rollers, no one turned them on. No UV light or other drying agents. My $ 70 pedicure got snarled up even though I sat for 30 minutes. Their other services might be fine, but don’t waste your money on a pedi.

What a beautiful salon in a beautiful location! I was very impressed with the lighting, the décor, the skill of the stylist and the location. Location, location, location. Having my hair cut while looking out over the circle in downtown Indy was absolutely wonderful. I view getting my hair cut as a «special time» for myself — regardless of where it’s taking place. Having it happen with a view was the cherry on top. I would highly suggest out of towners to hit up this spot as it’s in walking distance of several downtown hotels. And who doesn’t want to gaze at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument while getting their hair done?
Very pleased with my visit and I’m planning on returning. :) Even though this was a bit out of my way for a hair cut, it was well worth the trip. Any reason to visit downtown Indy is always fine by me. And now my hair looks fabbbulous. ;)

I was on an Indy layover when one of my acrylics cracked. I was leery about going to a random nail tech in a new city but really had no choice. The hotel recommended Studio 2000 and Brandy was able to fit me in and repair my nail. The repair looked great and I was soo thankful! I will definitely be back my next time in Indy to get one of the award winning pedicures and a spa treatment. Great location, friendly staff, and reasonable prices :). Thank you guys!

Convenient location, for someone living downtown because driving all the way to carmel, broadripple or other places to save a few bucks is not worth it.
I have voluminous hair and it is sort of wavy. I wanted someone experienced to cut it in a way that I can manage without much styling needs. Hanna was my stylist several times and I highly recommend her. Very professional and sweet people I would say. Now I am their regular customer.

Customer service hasn’t improved. I wanted to give this place a 2^nd chance after my very bad experience last year (see my review from 9÷1÷2013). I called today to get an appt for a mani+pedi tomorrow. First the receptionist was very friendly and offered me two time slots for tomorrow — then she looked up my name and suddenly no appt for tomorrow available, she even did not ask me whether I would like to pick another day she only said «We will call you when something is available». Quite sure my name in their system was flagged because of the negative review I put on Unilocal.
Obviously they are not interested at all in winning once loyal customers back — they don’t care about you as a customer.
After this 2^nd very bad experience — I am done with this place, they don’t care about customers. No comparison with No 7 salon and spa also in downtown indy — they do care about their customers, mani+pedi there is awesome. From now on I will stick with N0 7 salon and spa — they might be a bit more expensive for a mani+pedi, but service is outstanding and they do care about their customer — unlike studio 2000.
Studio 2000 — if you want to be treated well — this is NOT the place for you.

Giving my gift card to my niece, maybe she would enjoy it. Not the worst, but for the treatments I got I have experienced much better. Polish started chipping after a day.
Got a Brazilian and it wasn’t competely done (not clear the second time either) although she was very sweet, she seemed ready to go. Some staff have unpleasant attitudes– one (who will remain nameless) didn’t even have the phone hung up completely before he started in on how I had issues with the service… and how they have been in business for over 25 years. Not worth your time or the price. However, Z and Gretta (?) seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. Consider elsewhere first…
***Thank you for your response, Kevin. A year has passed and I came across a reminder that prompted my review. Yes, I will make it clear that I was offered to take away from my time to come back after emailing pictures (that I did not post) of the treatment. And, unfortunately overheard (what I felt– not what may have been) inappropriate conversation on my «issues». Considering would a client want to continue coming back to a business for the same treatment and after highlighting that the general attitude there does not seem so great. Please no offense, I’ve been told the atmosphere there isn’t welcoming and also experienced it. I didn’t say Studio is a horrible place, I said consider elsewhere. I can imagine clients will form their own opinion, and there will be no need to reimburse. I can send my niece over for sure, and hope that she has a more pleasant experience. Thank you for taking the time to write, and I wish you all the best in the next 25 years.

I sat here for 20 minutes after my appointment. Keep in mind it was 5:00pm on a Saturday. The cut is great, Amanda is awesome, she took her time and was great to chat with.

I guess since I’ve been going here for upwards of 6 years, I should probably write a review. First of all, I mainly get my hair done here. For me, that means cut, color, and/​or highlights. I go to either Tim or Alesha (sorry if I’m spelling this wrong). Both of them are awesome. Tim cuts my hair in a way that grows out beautifully, and, since for most of these 6 years I had been a poor college student, being able to have long gaps between cuts/​highlights is awesome (I’m talking 4 – 6 months long). Alesha is newer to the salon but also a very good stylist. She’s done my color a couple of times and will work with you to get exactly what you want. I’ve never been disappointed with her coloring skills. Both of them helped fix a bad dye job I experienced at another salon. To be honest, I am extremely apprehensive to trust anyone else with my hair. I see gorgeous up-do’s and great cuts across the board here. Just make sure if you’re looking for a particular service to ask for a stylist who has that specialty. (Not everyone is an up-​do expert, for example).
As far as spa services go, I’ve been to Britta for brow and lip waxes and have had a great experience with both. She is quick, but doesn’t rush you and is very friendly. My brows looked great! As far as other comments about scheduling and unavailabilities… I’ve been able to be scheduled for a wax the same day and within a reasonable time of my hair cuts. It can be hard to get into my stylist, but that’s why I have two that I can alternate between. This is a busy salon on monument circle in the heart of downtown Indy, it’s going to have full books, sorry.
TL;DR: great salon, expensive but worth it. Great hair cuts, products, and color services. Would recommend.

I definitely won’t return. They put me in the relaxation room and forgot about me. I thought maybe they were running late, but after more than 30 minutes, I went to the desk. Nope. They forgot me. Made me late for other plans. At least they did not charge for my brow wax, but I won’t be back.

Just an update that this spa contacted me after reading my review to offer me a refund.

This is one of the few long-​standing spas I haven’t visited in Indy, and after seeing a tweet from Indianapolis Monthly (@IndyMonthly) about free blowouts with a new stylist (as part of her apprenticeship) I scheduled an appointment to check it out!
There is just nothing like having someone else wash and style your hair. Especially when you’ve got a thick mop of curly hair like me – what a treat!
I arrived a few minutes late (oops!) and the staff welcomed me at the front desk. My stylist approached a few moments later and offered to take my coat and get me a complimentary beverage. After she came back w/​a cup of water she took me to her chair and asked how I’d like to have my hair blown out. Then she took me over to the shampoo chair and from that point on I don’t remember much… the scalp massage was THAT good… like crazy good…
The stylist kept me engaged with pleasant conversation while she dried my hair. She told me about the historic building we were in and the art deco style — as she worked my hair into a beautiful straightened style!
I was in and out in less than an hour with a great head of hair! I made sure to tip nicely since the service was complimentary! She suggested that I get on the mailing list because Studio2000’s new stylists all offer free services after they receive their initial training on them (blow outs, trims, men’s cuts, etc). Sign me up!

So, the hubs and I went here for massages a little while ago. First off, it’s very conveniently located right off the circle, which is a plus. Once inside, the waiting/​relaxation area is very cool. We were able to lay back and relax for 15 minutes or so. When my masseuse was ready for me, she ushered me to a room that was right next to the salon area (at the end of the hallway). While the massage itself was nice, I was incredibly distracted by the loud laughing and chatting going on right outside my room! It went on for the whole massage and I felt like I was never really able to zone out and relax.
I might be tempted to return for some other service in the future, but will shy away from their massages.

This is a pretty classy spa/​salon located just steps from Monument Circle. You take an elevator upstairs and come upon a salon you’d expect to see in midtown Manhattan. I only had a haircut, but I took a look around at the spa area as well. This really seems like a place to pamper yourself for a couple hours with a massage/​facial/​mani-​pedi.
