4 stars because Lamars is superior but I still really like this place. My breakfast of choice is blueberry muffin and the mint hot chocolate. The donuts are good too! Only advice is to avoid peak hours. Yes places run out of things that means you get to try something new. Hooray! :)

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G coffee.. . I tried the white mocha pumpkin coffee. Delicious! The coffee beans themselves has the best taste I’ve ever experienced aside from Caribou. Definitely has Starby’s beat! We also tried a few donuts which are nothing like I’ve tried either. Well flavors & variety wise. Just wish I had one close to home. =(

Sandwiches and sides are OK, however, their iced tea tastes like coffee — they must be mixing coffee grounds in their tea. When I complained they wouldn’t believe me or give me a new drink. Had to throw the tea out.

There were two DD’s in the metro that opened about the same time. This one and the one on North Oak Trafficway. I like the one on North Oak much better than this store. I think I am more generous than the other folks that have reviewed this store. It’s not the easiest exit to take going north bound on 291, and exiting back onto N 291 is also kind of precarious. I like DD’s coffee. I have the 20 oz refillable travel mug. I have to make sure that they got my order right before I leave the window. Since I usually get brewed coffee, it is kind of hard to ruin that, although I have noted that it takes the folks a long time to move customers along. And one time they put sugar in my coffee, which I HATE. I stop here a couple mornings a week and a couple evenings a week. One night I stopped with my travel mug and they had to refund me because they charged me too much. Tonight I stopped and got my free birthday latte with my post card. I can say that the latte was really good and for that reason I am giving this review 2 starts. I really prefer the North Oak store.

the store has been open now for about3−4 months and I still see the employees attempting to meet the customer needs while some middle eastern guy just stands around and looks at best confused. Im guessing he is the owner and if he is shouldnt he be helping out with the drinks and getting things made. I have heard that he does not know how to make half the items in the store thus the confused look –its no wonder service and employees attitudes arent as happy as they once were — -

Bad service and the worst coffee drinks I have EVER had on 3 out of my 4 visits. Dunkin’ Donuts was my favorite place to get coffee drinks when I was in South Carolina a few years ago. I will not be going back to the Independence location, I’m not sure which is worse the service or the drinks.

Since this business opened I’ve visited 5 times. I usually visit in the evening, 6:30 or so. By then, those high priced donuts that are made and put on the shelf before 5AM are now, hard and dry but I’m lucky enough to still be charged the same price those folks that got them in the morning fresh pays. To top it off on my last visit, and I mean last, I was told there were no white cake donuts, at all. I asked for 4 glazed chocolate donuts, drove to the window, paid, and then was given the donuts. My wife looked in the sack and instead of getting what I ordered, I was given 4 choclate iced donuts. On top of that they didn’t have what I asked for and just gave me what they had. It appeard, they took the donuts back, after being in our car, and put them back on the shelf. I got a refund and left after waisting 20 minutes with them. I filed a complaint to Dunkin Donut Corporate and in return I got and automated message and that was it. Not ever a personal, fake, we are sorry about that. YOU’LLBEMUCHBETTEROFF. 1-21-2015UPDATE — - The last few visits I’m made to this Dunkin Donuts in Independence, MO has been with better results. There is a Manager that when she’s on duty will bake donuts through out the day. Many time’s I have gotten donuts at 5 to 7 pm that were still hot and fresh. Still over priced but this Manager cares about providing a good product.

I was absolutely thrilled when I saw that Dunkin Donuts opened a location in Independence. My husband and I were beyond excited. I’ve only been to DD once before so I’m not very familiar with the menu. The cashier was not helpful at all! The cashier’s attitude was bad. Even though the place just opened she looked miserable. I told her I wanted a cold coffee drink. I was confused as to what some of the drinks were so I asked her for help. I ordered a Coolatta which I’ve never had before. The guy making the drinks overheard our conversation and said something to the cashier that I didn’t quite understand. She responded, «I know.» After he handed me my drink I realized that he had told her it doesn’t have coffee in it so she could tell me. I ended up with a slushee with vanilla flavoring — not what I was wanting. I didn’t want to bother her but I am disappointed. Why didn’t she help me? I also ordered a rainbow sprinkle donut and a Boston cream donut. The dough is very dry — the frosting helped mask the dryness. Overall I’m disappointed. I expected the employees to be friendly and helpful. I shouldn’t have had such high expectations.
