Beachside Fro-Yo

We came here with a groupon deal. The flavors were very watery, it didnt taste like quality yogurt. I love frozen yogurt and I have been to quite a few different yogurt places throughout San Diego so I would know. Also once it was time to get toppings it was extremely uncomfortable since the cashier just stood there staring at us, omg seriously so creepy.

We do like these self/​serve fro yo shops. Stopped by tonight for some birthday fro yo for my daughter, friends and family. Nice selection of toppings, but yogurt itself was not as good as my local favorite. It was grainy, not sufficiently frozen, and melted into a puddle almost immediately, which was kind of strange. But, was a nice end to our IB outing. Happy 1-​year anniversary tomorrow!

Ask to read ingredients! Not one thing actually has yogurt — its a list of about 25 chemicals.
Please offer just one «real yogurt» option, I will be glad to pay double!

I’m not a frozen yogurt fan but this place saved me from driving somewhere after the beach. I happen to catch ½ off «happy hour» plus every Tuesday 2−4pm free toppings! Super winning. Cashier was nice. I came for my daughter we got cake batter and triple chocolate. With loads of toppings (free why not) total was 2.18 pretty darn cheap.

Flavors are very rich but not a lot of options. Happy hour was a great deal though. Fill up your cup as much as you want for only 4 or 5 dollars.

I really wanted to like this place. I love frozen yogurt and it’s walking distance from my house. But every time I go in here, I’m disappointed. Tonight we tried it one more time. As usual, the yogurt was gritty/​grainy and not sufficiently frozen, the flavor options were odd, and the fresh fruit toppings did not look very fresh, especially the strawberries which looked like they’d been sitting out a long time. Their prices are also a little high, and I think it’s tacky that their iPad payment system solicits a tip. The staff have always been pleasant enough when we’ve gone, but that doesn’t redeem grainy, melted, overpriced yogurt. I had the plain tart tonight, which wasn’t very tart. The one plus tonight was that they had pomegranate seeds as a topping option, which I thought was kinda cool.

This is such a fun idea and I’m not sure why it took IB to catch on! Finally!
$.50/​oz. Triple Chocolate and the Vanilla were great for a first timer. I imagine I’ll be making this a bi-​weekly expenditure!

As an IB local, we have been WAITING for a frozen yogurt place close by!!! It’s close to home, delicious, and located in a great atmosphere. We have come to Beachside for two days in a row during the same week… and we will make sure to be frequent customers!
The Strawberry Shortcake is indescribable. I added Captain Crunch and some fresh banana to my yogurt to make it a well worth sweet treat. My sister also got the Strawberry Shortcake and added gummy bears and other yummy toppings to customize hers! The staff is very kind and they make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Overall, this place rocks and we most definitely will be back!

Best froyo. They have a wide variety of toppings and great tasting froyo. Great customer service! I recommend them to everyone!

It’s official. We are addicts. Seeking 12 step program to stop the madness of a serious Fro Yo addiction!
Sad to say that the blond lady we really liked (I was originally offended when she cussed, but had since come to appreciate her because she just won us as I said in my revision) is no longer there.
I couldn’t see how to remove my first review, so I simply updated.
Now I really wish I had taken more time to figure out how to remove the original review so I could know that it didn’t weigh into whatever happened so that she is not there any more.
My son is super sad! After the first time we were there I was taken aback when my son told me she cussed, but we quickly got over it (as I stated in my last review) and we have been there many times since.
I am told that another review, and mine are the reason she is no longer there and I can’t tell you how sad this makes me. While I respect a business owner who is responsive to Unilocal,I hope she lands on her feet because she really won us after that initial bad start. :/​
My son ran into her tonight and came home and told me all of this.
This is a lesson to all of us about how seriously our reviews can affect real lives. I am glad I wrote the revised review, and there is nothing I can do about the other person’s review that figured in, but my heart is heavy tonight and I just want other Unilocalers to realize what can happen.
I sure hope she lands on her feet and if we can help with that, we will.

Best yogurt this side of the Mississippi! Congrats to Athena and her crew for a more than welcomed business to our little beach community.

I was visiting from out of town and my husband and I stopped by this yogurt shop. I think that it is the best frozen yogurt that I have tasted so far! The flavors were delicious and I thought that they had a good selection of flavors and toppings. The place was clean and inviting and all 3 staff girls that were there that night were very friendly to us. I had a great experience here!

Little blonde girl in there tonight, she was so incredibly rude.
I brought 5 people in there and we grabbed the tall ‘blizzard” cups instead of the printed paper cups (which I assume would cost a lot more??)
And she tells us to use the paper cups. Well I’m sorry. My 5 and 3 year old likes to see their yogurt!!! Then we go to pay and the scale is weighted. It said 2.0 oz already on the scale… That’s a freaking DOLLAR. The entire store was very dirty also.
Fire this girl before you lose more service

The frozen yogurt itself was really good, and they have a decent selection of flavors. However I felt it was over priced compared to other frozen yogurt shops I have been to. My boyfriend and I each got a cup, not even completely filled mind you, and it was almost $ 20. It was good though, and the service was very friendly.

Hubby, kids and I have gone several time since its opening and we love it! There are always new flavors to try so it’s always a great surprise when going in for a treat. You never know what new flavor or flavor combinations you’ll fall in love with.
They also have the option to turn your fro-​yo masterpiece into a blizzard! What’s that, you say? Well think of a creamy thick milkshake you get at those fancy ol’fashion diners, but instead your taking all of the yummy goodness that you’ve just prepared yourself and whipping it all together to form this heaven-​in-​a-​cup deliciousness!
Perfect family treat that everyone in the family can enjoy.

This place is two doors down from me and I love it. I think I have only missed going there one day since they opened. I always get the same flavors, vanilla Custer and double chocolate with brownies, peanuts and chocolate syrup. Then I come home and add whipped cream and hit the couch. I give up the wine for the Fro-​yo. Yes this is a 5 star and the top Imperial Beach’s new and upcoming business. Oh! and by the way they are open until 10 pm every night. So when you get that craving you know where to go. Yep, Fro-​yo :)

So excited to finally have a frozen yogurt place in IB! Took the kids there this weekend and we all were more than pleased! We had the double chocolate, but tried them all, and they were amazing. Great price, friendly people, and best of all (besides the fro-​yo) we walked there!

Delicious frozen yogurt. The pineapple Italian ice flavor was really yummy, the no sugar added strawberry was the best NSA fro-​yo I’ve ever had. This place is very clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. There is a lot of add ins and toppings to choose from and all are arranged in an organized and appealing manner. The yogurt is $.50 an ounce but tastes very fresh and homemade. I’m willing to pay a bit extra for the great location, delicious yogurt, clean store, and friendly staff. So glad to have a fantastic fro-​yo place in IB. Keep up the great work, Beachside FroYo. :-)

Very delicious frozen yogurt at an excellent price. They also have fresh fruit and Italian Ice.
