Tautphaus Park Zoo

The Tautphaus Park Zoo has come a long way over the years.
I remember being a young child and visiting the zoo. Back when I was younger the zoo wasn’t anything special. I don’t remember there being a lot of animals to view back then. Some that stood out were the owls and the raccoons. I always felt sorry for the raccoons because they were always standing around in their own filth. Not right for any animal to have to endure.
Many years have passed though and with new and better management over the years, the Zoo has become one of the best in the country.
Many animals to choose and see. Lions, tigers and bears oh my! Some of my favorite attractions at the zoo are the otters. Those things are so dang cute! I also like to see the ancient turtle that resides there.
Some other great features about the TPZ is the snack shack. Stop for a bite if you get hungry. It’s pretty good! And the souvenir shop has some great items to choose from.
If I had only one thing to complain about with the zoo it is that I wish it was free. There are many zoos across the country that don’t cost a thing. I don’t mind paying, but why should you if there are many zoos that stay open for no cost? Oh that’s right, I live in a town that hates paying any kind of taxes towards anything great for the city.
Anyway great zoo otherwise. Love to go when I can.
