We love mellow! You can go often and not have to eat the same thing. Every time we go… whatever pizza we order is our favorite!

I hadn’t had MM in forever and was really craving it so of course I went in with great expectations from past experiences at other MM’s. I was disappointed with the quality of our food. It wasn’t up to par with the other locations I had been to. EXCELLENT service. Our waitress was super attentive and sweet. I doubt we will be back because the food just wasn’t that great.

Mediocre food, mediocre service, a mediocre restaurant! I don’t ever remember having a bad pizza in my whole life… until now.(I even used to enjoy eating 99 cent Genos pizza from the grocery store! I love pizza!) It is hard to mess up a pizza but I can say this is the most untasty pizza ever. Marinara lacked. It tasted like cheap canned pasta sauce. and cheese? It tastes like a mass produced glob of goo mixed with wet cardboard. And the dough was not tasty either. Greek salad lacked any taste of Mediterranean. Thankfully hummus was decent and edible(yes I needed to eat something). It was however very simple(dominated by garlic alone) failed to please my palate. I want my taste buds to sing but not here. Beer selection was decent for trying out craft beer. Mellow Mushrooms completely fails as a decent place for a good meal.

Great pizza, calzones, and atmosphere. Every order I’ve placed has been messed up, but the manager quickly corrected each to my satisfaction. Went outside the pizza/calzone norm and tried the mushroom soup and Thai chili wings today. The soup was served luke warm and didn’t taste well. The wings were super fatty. Everything on the menu sounded great, but I’ll stick to the pizza and calzones.

Soggy, oily pizza crust was very unappetizing. Pane e Vino has much better pizza and better atmosphere.

I’ve gone here a few times, it’s pretty decent pizza. Lately it has been declining in quality though. I ordered a pizza with fresh buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, and pepperoni. With those toppings it was about $ 10 extra. They gave me MAYBE one fresh basil leaf, no difference in cheese, and appropriate pepperoni(they got that right, but who doesn’t). Here’s a picture for your own judgement.

We decided to go to the MM after going to the movies. We were the only family in the dining area because it was late. The place was clean and our server was very friendly. I ordered the calzone and a pizza for the family. Although I prefer a crisper crust, the pizza and calzone itself was really good. The ingredients seemed really fresh except for the pineapple. The pineapple tasted like it was straight out of the can and should have been cooked a little more. Overall, the experience was good and the overall the pizza was good. I would definitely go again.

My husband and our two kids decided to have pizza again at MM because we enjoyed it so much our first visit(we just moved to the area). However, we were sadly disappointed this time around. I understand that places get busy, but when you seat someone outside per the hostess’ suggestion(so we wouldn’t have to wait for a table indoors) you should make sure that a server waits on them. No one checked on us and others were waited on that came in after us. We waited for nearly 15 mins and finally just decided to leave because our kids were hungry and it was obvious we were not going to be served. I hope this is just a fluke occurrence but it will most likely be a while before we go back to MM after this experience.

Best service one of the best pizza and wing places I’ve ever been to and they have my favorite beer by Rogue. My son walked out saying he loved the place that’s A++ in my book.

First Timers to a Mellow Mushroom, I’ve passed a few in my wanderings, but never dropped into one before today. We arrived at 11:30am, place hardly had anyone in it at that time, but it soon started to fill up. Ordered a 14 inch pizza, half sausage & mushroom, the other half pepperoni. Also 10BBQ wings for an appetizer, and I went with some Truck Stop Ale(local, from Gadsden, AL) to drink, while my fiancée had a Long Island Iced Tea(and later a Grateful Dead). Wings were decent, not the best we’ve ever had, but not bad. Pizza was good, tasty. I enjoyed the sausage & mushroom toppings quite a bit. Only wish my Truck Stop Ale hadn’t come in a can, it still was decent(ordered it because it was local). Friendly service, nice atmosphere to enjoy a lunch. Our server Hollington was very attentive & nice, she suggested the Grateful Dead for my fiancée, and my fiancée enjoyed the drink. We could have done without all the Football Games, but I’m sure a lot of the people that frequent the Mellow Mushroom come to watch the Games. Surprised the Bar area isn’t larger though. Overall a good experience, we’d certainly come back if in the area or if we were passing by another Mellow Mushroom.

It has been 9 years since I have had Mellow Mushroom, so I decided to go back for my birthday this past weekend. When me and my family got there it brought back memories as far as the beer selections they offer and the smell of that pizza dough is something out of this world. Needless to say the food tasted the same as always and I might start going back when I can.

My favorite Mellow Mushroom. Definitely try the Red Skin Potato Pie. And unique to this location is «The Goat» pizza made with award winning Belle Chèvre goat cheese from Elkmont, AL. Beautiful location at the foot of the mountain on Cecil Ashburn. The servers are a little hard to spot because there is no uniform, but all Mellow Mushrooms are like that. I also like the Dyson Airblade hand dryers in the restrooms! Best Mellow Mushroom in the city.

Always been a fan of the ‘Shroom! My wife and I frequent this place because, living on Monte Sano, it’s really the closest and best tasting vegan fare in town. We love coming here, especially now that they have VEGAN Gluten-Free crust! The craft beer selecting is ever-changing and that’s a good thing, I love variety. The one downer is, expect to wait a solid 20 mins on average for your food. The food service is quite slow but always worth the wait. Servers are always very friendly and knowledgable, you really can’t go wrong. The restaurant manager Bryan is awesome too! Most accommodating person I’ve encountered in any Mellow Mushroom by far!

I and my son went there for lunch, It wasn’t even pizza it was more like pasta because as soon as you pick it up it fell to the plate and dough was the only thing left. The pizza didn’t have no flavor and I did get a to go box for my son pizza, but he only ate the pepperoni off the top of it and the rest was trash. I will never go back here, I have had better. I would have been better off going to Krogers and buying a pizza and go to redbox and rented a movie.

Visiting from California, my mother and I went to this place on her suggestion because she’s never been here before. They had an impressive & outstanding beer selection of local and southern states, u.s.a. and European aswell. Good looking menu and a bonus for you veggie heads, there’s a nice selection for vegetarians and the vegan types to choose from. If I didn’t know I was in Alabama, I would swear I was on the west coast restaurant. The overall selections on the menu was very good, and unique. The menu is great, a nice large and different twist of selections. Love the large selections to choose from to building a pizza. A great hoagie my mother had! The sandwich bread was baked«crispy» — sesame seeds on the outside of the French roll and soft on the inside and remained that way for the duration of the meal. I’ve never had anything like it. The mushroom soup was delicious & tasty… I had no issues.(I posted a photo) The pretzels were very good, nice and soft… home made looking. It came with a selection of marinara sauce or garlic & butter and I think even a cinnamon and sugar, but I had the marinara sauce as a dip. I’m glad I didn’t order the meatball sandwich because that’s the same sauce that comes with the meatball sandwich… I asked, and its not good for a meatball sandwich. it’s a great sauce for a pizza, maybe for dipping too, but not for the meatball sandwich so avoid the meatball sandwich in my opinion. .But I would come back here again and again if I was local. It was just great and there’s lots of TVs for viewing along with the great beer selections and a really decent menu with great pizzas and hoagies and salads and more. I just love the place and I wish they had Southern California locations… unfortunately they don’t.

My 2nd time at this location(dine-in) was definitely a better experience than the 1st time(to-go) around… but I doubt I’ll return for a 3rd. I had the Maui Wowie with red sauce instead of pesto and no pineapple. I ordered the pizza well-done…It was more cooked than last time but still not well done. The crust and sauce are still quite tasty but toppings are pretty minimal and the whole ordeal is just too overpriced for what I’m getting.

A beer lover’s paradise. Went in this past weekend to find about forty to fifty beers on tap, with only a small number of those taps dedicated to big name, no taste beers. I enjoyed a NOLA Brewing Hopitoulais, a beer that until recently you could only get in and around New Orleans, LA. According to the bartender, they got it in this weekend and I was the first person to have some. Yay me! Selections from all the local breweries and a lot of regional favorites like Sweetwater and Terrapin round out a very impressive selection. Jones Valley is a better place for having a Mellow. Oh, and the food is really good too. :-)
